Iron Man 2 Update: The New U.S Poster!

Marvel.com has posted the new, bold looking U.S Poster to their 2010 superhero sequel, Iron Man 2! Much like the international poster before it, the new one features mug and avatar shots of main characters Tony Stark, James Rhodes, Black Widow, and Pepper Potts, but in contrast to that version, the armors highlight this particular one sheet! The Mark VI armor sports a new mugshot and switches sides with War Machine, and at the center of it all is a tiny image of Iron Man swooping down, in true style and awesomeness of course! MGS Update: Walking By Some Peace Walker!

The Metal Gear Solid series is one of my favorite videogame franchises that I have had the privilege of experiencing from the moment it began in 1997, during the golden years of the original Sony Playstation. It can be said that Hideo Kojima weaved together a beautiful military drama masterpiece, rought with danger and laced with espionage themed action that would make even the most experienced player crack under pressure. I've gone through the motions of each installment, and arguably all of them have unique qualities about them that firmly establishes each one as a classic that stands the test of time. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for lead protagonist Solid Snake, who by leaps and bounds has sailed through his final and most tedious mission yet with 2008's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots. That game, for the life of me, is sheer excellence when it comes to gameplay perfection, and it was practically the sole reason why I had to get Sony's monolith next and now current generation console, the Playstation 3. Now that it's done and finished, the adventures of Solid Snake have come to an end... but that doesn't mean the series is over. Fans have this baby to look forward to:

Oh yes, we've seen the trailers and previews these past few months, but here's a look at the official North American box art to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker! Naked Snake, aka Big Boss and the protagonist of MGS 3: Snake Eater and the MGS: Portable Ops series, will be returning to the frontlines in this one, and will once again have to fend off enemies and avert a major crisis from happening. The great thing about this game, however, is that heavy emphasis will be placed on co-op and multiplayer, and that takes full advantage of PSP Capabilities. Up to four players can join in the fray, with two engaging in main missions, while four duke it out against powerful adversaries in boss missions. The standard MGS play formula has been tweaked slightly to adjust to this new gameplay style, and after playing Demo Ops alongside my fellow gamer friend Billy, I can attest how fresh and sound Peace Walker will feel and play upon its release this coming June. Stay tuned for more updates, and check out this new gameplay trailer for some insight on the cool things to come courtesy of Konami and Kojima Productions.

It's Official: Playstation In The RP!

As the slogan said - "It's Official".

On the morning of March 27, 2010, I trekked over to the Glorietta 4 Activity Center, nestled in the heart of the Ayala Mall establishment. Inside was not just an event that called for simple presentations and stage performances, but rather a launching event that was long overdue... and possibly one of the finest moments local gamers in attendance have ever witnessed.

At long last, Playstation has officially hit the Philippines!

It's a known fact that the PS3 and PSP have been out for long time already, but this event marks the beginning of a everything official, expanding Sony's local market and opening new doors for potential markets that have yet to witness the power and entertainment that Playstation products can offer. Being an avid gamer and Sony console enthusiast myself, I wasted no time to get into the grind and join my peers in the gaming community, especially since I had to cover the event too! I met up with friends like G, Mark, Billy, Relly, Jomz, Vince, Lance, and plenty of others prior and during the launch itself, so all was good and dandy.

Sometime after lunch, the program finally started, and representatives from Sony Asia talked and presented the power that is Playstation, introducing the console to the press and public with a brief history, description, Q & A time, and finally, trailers of the latest PS3 products games out right now, with highlights on Final Fantasy XIII and God Of War III!

To excite the crowd even more, a handful of cosplayers dressed as Kratos, Sackboy, and the FFXIII gang, and everyone was off to a great start on the show floor! Afterwards, the entire activity area was open to the public, and people were allowed to try out PS3s and PSPs set up several booths, all displayed in powerful Bravia HDTVs!

Overall, the event was pretty good than I expected, and with tournaments lined up for the second and final day, it's a good time for gaming to make its mark and be on the local RP scene. Welcome Playstation!

Revisting Iron Man: Extremis!

In January 2005, Writer extraordinaire Warren Ellis and a then up and coming art talent named Adi Granov teamed together and reinvented one of Marvel's flagship superheroes for the 21st century.

That hero was none other than Tony Stark, aka the Invincible Iron Man.

In the wake of Avengers Disassembled, the armored avenger's own flagship title was relaunched to coincide with the new beginning and direction the House Of Ideas was aiming for its top titles at the time. Of course, this meant introducing Iron Man to a whole new audience by concurrently reestablishing the character's origin and redefining the hero for the modern age. Thus, the "Extremis" storyline was conceptualized - a six part tale that depicts Tony Stark fighting a foe empowered by a nanotechnology super soldier serum known as Extremis, forcing the tech wonder to dive into the process itself, thereby giving him new powers and an upgraded suit of armor. The story also retcons Tony's past, portraying him as an arms dealer, and updating his origin by establishing his beginnings as Iron Man in Afghanistan instead of Vietnam. "Extremis" was received pretty well by fans and readers alike, and I enjoyed the heck out of it, especially with Warren Ellis' superb writing and Adi Granov's fantastic 3D lifelike artstyle. In fact, elements of the story, as well as Granov's art designs, were incorporated into the Iron Man film franchise, most notably with the first film in 2008.

Now, More than five years after its launch, Extremis is coming back better than ever, and just in time for the new Iron Man 2 movie's debut this May! The six part tale will be rereleased as a Director's Cut series for fans to catch up this April! Not only that, a new edition of the tale will be released digitally, with a Motion Comic adaptation under the Marvel Knights Animation banner, done and produced by the House Of Ideas themselves! As noted in a post in their website, the Iron Man Extremis Motion Comic will debut in April 16, with six episodes slated to be released on a bi-weekly basis until June! It will be available for download at iTunes, Zune, and Xbox, each episode costing $1.99, or for a whole season package price of $9.99! More details at Marvel.com itself, so click and read up! If you're not convinced yet, check out the trailer to this groundbreaking rerelease of a classic below!

Iron Man 2 Update: Another New Poster!

Still more than a month away until its worldwide release, everyone can't wait to see Robert Downey Jr. back in the suit and soaring to the skies as ol' shellhead in Iron Man 2! With that, Marvel and Paramount, have released a brand new international poster (as seen in Yahoo Movies) to make the fans even more excited and hungry for some repulsor madness!

Like the last movie, this is another poster showcasing the stars and cast from the movie itself! On the top comes War Machine and Iron Man in his Mark VI armor, while the lower half presents Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) himself, James Rhodes (Don Cheadle), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and finally at the bottom, Ivan "Whiplash" Vanko (Mickey Rourke). While this particular one sheet may not be as iconic as previous posters, it's still good nevertheless!

Comic Book Review: Siege #3

Finally, a new comic book review! I've been neglecting time to post down my thoughts on the latest comic crazes that are hitting the shelves, but that's what happens when you got too many things to do and barely enough time to review an issue. I hope I can change that with the next few books arriving soon, as the big two comic companies are hitting the final stretch mark for their respective events! This month, Marvel has finally amped the performance up with "Siege" by showing us the throwdown we've all been waiting for - Steve Rogers/ Captain America and his Avengers vs Norman Osborn/ Iron Patriot and his Dark Avengers, with the fate of Asgard hanging in the balance! It's not even the final issue yet, and so many things are happening here that it's bound to be a megacolossal conclusion next month, as only Brian Michael Bendis and Olivier Coipel can tell it!

Siege #3
Written By: Brian Michael Bendis
Illustrated By: Olivier Coipel

Norman Osborn is out of control.

As Asgard lies in ruins and its people all but fallen, the Iron Patriot proceeds to lead his H.A.M.M.E.R Agents and his Dark Avengers in for the kill. However, hope arrives in the nick of time, as a familiar red, white, and blue hero swoops in and delivers a thunderous shield slash to Osborn's chromed helmet. Captain America and his Avengers have arrived, and they aim to take back Asgard in the name of justice. With the battle being broadcast live and throughout the world, the President Of The United States makes a decision to support Cap and his allies, as well as issuing a warrant for Osborn and crew's arrest, citing them all for treason. With things falling in their favor, it seems the Avengers have finally won the fight. But Osborn, not one to give up easily, unleashes his secret weapon against Asgard and the heroes in the form of The Sentry, who is now fully possessed by The Void.

Anyone expecting pay dirt from this event? Brian Michael Bendis delivers it right here, and in spades no less! The penultimate chapter to this four part series is one of epic proportions, and no doubt a lot of you were expecting the hero vs villain team smackdown to begin after last issue's cliffhanger ending! Indeed, seeing Cap and the heroes take on Osborn and his cronies puts a little smile to my face, after bearing the Dark Reign of the megalomaniac for a couple of years now, it's great to see the bad guys get what's coming to them. The much awaited "fall from grace" of Norman Osborn is something we've all been waiting for, and having gained the ire of the president of the U.S.A, he slowly sees his empire crumbling, with Cap, his allies, and the American military unleashing their collective might against H.A.M.M.E.R and its agents. Also, certain heroes who were cast in supporting roles in previous issues have their time to shine here, and after bearing the worst from Norman's tyranny and oppression for months now, it's sweet payback time for them. However, never count a power hungry maniac out yet, as Norman's got a few tricks to dish out before he goes, most notably with his lapdog, the Sentry. He's the wild card who's been easily manipulated by Osborn since he took power, and as his "ultimate weapon", it falls to the confused superhuman's hands to deliver a counterattack so dreadful that nobody could see it coming. It's a shocker that'll leave fans of the Asgardians wondering what their fate will be after everything is said and done, and with the Sentry still on the loose, we can't know what happens in the end until the next issue hits next month.

Olivier Coipel displayed powerful artwork in the previous issue, and he hasn't faltered one bit on this one either. It's great to see him draw the hero vs smackdown segments, and everything you'd expect from a major event starring most of Marvel's big guns is truly awe inspiring. I don't think the last issue will fall behind with the pencils either, and Marvel really has a strong talent working for them here. For his work on Siege, I'm looking forward to more projects from Coipel in the future. Guaranteed, it's going to be just as awesome.

With everything being said and not giving any specific detailed spoilers, Siege #3 is a must read, especially if you're into the Marvel Universe and have been following its events like twitter updates. Everything happens here to set the change in landscape in the coming months, which is the eventual ushering of the Heroic Age. While the series still has an issue left next month to cap things, the stage has been set for a battle that will decide the fate of a number of people, and no one can say what the outcome will be, save for the creators themselves. Look forward to the end.

Looking Out For "Plan 9"...

Remaking a movie isn't a simple process. Not all of them do justice to their predecessors, and even if a few manage to squeeze out and shine through with a decent modernized plot, fans loyal to the source material still bear some love and attachment to the original. What a remake can do is add a new layer of twists and possibilities that weren't available thanks to limitations of technology during the time the original was made. A fair number of remakes were successful, with notable examples being Ocean's Eleven and Dawn Of The Dead, which reignited the love and attention fans gave to those respective genres thanks to new innovations and gimmicks that were introduced. The upcoming flick, Clash Of The Titans, is another remake that serves as proof of the many franchises Hollywood has retooled and represented as new movies for the modern age, and while it isn't the first classic to be reintroduced to the 21st century, it certainly won't be the last. Fan craving and demand has placed many favorable cult classics in the candidate list, and one in particular that caught my eye is this:

I found out that one of Ed Wood's classic sci-fi horror movies, Plan 9 from Outer Space, is getting the remake treatment! Cited as one of "the worst films ever made" the film told the story of aliens from outer space trying to stop humanity from creating a powerful weapon capable of destroying the universe, resorting to a ploy that involves resurrecting the dead and getting their attention. Yeah, that's the plot, and you can check out part one of the movie yourself, courtesy of You Tube, right through this embedded video, as well as the accompanying links:

Plan 9 From Outer Space

Heh, I vaguely remember seeing the original, made in 1959 and starring classic actors like the late Bela Lugosi (who died even before the original was released!). It's your classic bill of space horror that's too fun to ignore, and being a zombie fan myself, I'm open to seeing the new version, to be made by Darkstone Entertainment, just for kicks. Word got to me about the remake from a post by James Rolfe of AVGN fame, and he even has a part in this movie! Wow, with the nerd on board, as well as aliens and zombies causing mayhem,I'm even more excited to see this now! Check out the teaser trailer and see for yourselves how the new one will look like:

Predators Update: The First Official Trailer!

Fast approaching and coming just after the fourth of July, the mighty and alien born predators make their much anticipated return with a sequel that bears their collective namesake, "Predators". Last time, a sneak peek trailer was posted showcasing what to expect from the new movie directed by Nimród Antal. Now, the official site and IGN/ You Tube have posted the first official trailer, which fans of the alien hunter race must watch and see.

Predators First Official Trailer!

As a new entry into the Predator franchise, the film follows Royce, played by actor Adrian Brody, as he is taken and sent to a mysterious planet by the Predators themselves. Here he hooks up with a bunch of other humans, most of whom are killers, murderers, and even Yakuza for that matter. Royce comes to lead this ragtag group, until they realize that they've been brought together on the alien planet not as prisoners, but as prey. Also starring in the movie is Matrix star Laurence Fishburne, who plays a US Soldier survivor the group meet up with named Noland. Also starring are Danny Trejo and Topher Grace, who you know as the blade wieldin' Machete and Spider-Man 3's Venom, respectively. To be produced by famed action director Robert Rodriguez, Predators is set for a July 9, 2010 release date. Get ready to be hunted!

God Of War III: An Epic Journey Of Madness!

There were plenty of games out this month that were hard to resist - Final Fantasy XIII, Yakuza 3, and Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition to name a few. But one game that definitely gives gamers a run for their money is the long awaited release of God Of War III - the game that represents action-adventure and hack and slash gaming at its finest!

The wait was agonizing and the teases were infuriating, but come March 17, on St. Patrick's Day itself, I finally landed myself a copy of God Of War III! That's right, the epic journey of Kratos was released this week to all the hungry fans and PS3 owners around the world, and I can definitely say for the most part of my playing experience that THE WAIT WAS DEFINITELY WORTH IT (See how I placed that in all caps). The gameplay we've come to know and love through the series is intact, along with a few new additions and innovations to turn the most sadistic person upside down with glee. Not only that, the graphics are sweet... TOO SWEET to behold, and anyone with High Definition TVs will surely enjoy the carnage on display and fine detail and lengths Sony and Santa Monica Studio have gone through to make this sequel feel EPIC.

God Of War III
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Developer: Santa Monica Studio

Since it's God Of War, expect a lot of that bloodthirsty action, puzzle solving, and insanely superb storytelling as you play the adventure. Those unfamiliar with the earlier games, fear not, for the makers have gone the extra mile to tell Kratos' backstory through a well made intro that looks like an animated Tapestry infused with something from the recent James Bond movies. Afterwards, you begin the game proper, and it starts just as all hell breaks loose (Slight SPOILERS here, so look back now, purists!). Taking place directly after the cliffhanger ending of GoW II, Kratos charges head on to Mount Olympus alongside the Titans, as they seek to gain their vengeance upon the Greek Gods and ultimately defeat their almighty leader, Zeus. At this point, you take control of the rage-filled Ghost Of Sparta, cutting down enemies through a mini-tutorial until you come face to face with the first God blocking your way - Poseidon, king of the seas. Anyone who's new to these types of games will surely feel this like this is the final confrontation of a bad-ass game. However, this is GOD OF WAR, and any boss battle of this magnitude is considered normal and fair play... and it's only a taste of things to come. From this point, something happens to Kratos (again) that makes his journey for revenge harder than he expected, and after acquiring a new mission that will help him achieve his one desired goal, it falls to his own persistence and determination once more to complete the labors and tasks set forth before him... with an uncertain future waiting beyond the gate.

A couple of hours into the game and still stretching my skills into it, I can definitely say that I have my A-Game with this baby, especially when it comes to unleashing Kratos' fury and abilities on various monstrosities of Greek mythology. What I found pleasant was the fact that many useful abilities from GoW II return, such as Icarus' wings which allow Kratos to glide and fly at certain points in the game. However, the new abilities are where it's at, and early on, Kratos gets many new upgrades that do more than help traverse obstacles, they leave enemies agonizing in pain. Without offering too much of a spoiler since it was in the E3 Demo, one of these abilities is the Head Of Helios, ripped from the head of the God himself, which illuminates paths and stuns enemies with a blinding flash. Kratos can later gain new eapons and power-ups with makes him stronger and faster, but to what those are, I'll leave it for you to find out. Also, don't forget the Button Pressing mini games that prompt up usually when you're about to finish off an enemy. These are legend among GoW titles, and leaves a satisfying smirk on your face everytime a brutal kill is being shown. It's these moments that prove God Of War's worth to the PS3 crowd... and why it's simply a beautiful exclusive to own. If you still need convincing, here's a trailer to see and make your eyes pop open with excitement:

God Of War III Launch Trailer

Hands down, God Of War III os a masterpiece, and the wait was absolutely worth it. I've enjoyed the past games too much to ignore this one, and seeing Kratos' adventure come full circle is a blessed sight to my gaming eyes. I'm still on the running and enjoying my playthrough, but hopefully my words are enough to convince you that this is definitely worth the pick up, especially to those justifying a PS3 purchase at this point. Fans of the series will also get a taste of deja vu here and there, and there are easter eggs to pick up as you go along with the adventure and narrative. Bottomline, get GoW III... or face Kratos' wrath in your dreams.XD

More Woe Coming To New Cap Bucky!

Steve Rogers may be back and all, but his former sidekick Bucky is still the present and acting Captain America of this generation. That being said, what the heck is this picture all about? Bucky and Cap back together again? Well, it's actually far from it, and if you've been following the Cap series like I have, the Star Spangled Hero we're looking at in the right side is none other than the deranged "1950's Cap", who has made it a point to turn Bucky into his own sidekick, whether he likes it or not. This image, via CBR, is one of the few scans present in an article detailing the next issue of Captain America which hits next week, as well as some insight on events to come, like the return of old adversary Baron Helmut Zemo, once the Heroic Age hits. All of these questions are answered by Marvel Editor Tom Brevoort, so it's a worthy interview to read up in the site if you're a big Cap fan. Check out the highlights by clicking the link to CBR's post here! Bucky's back in his old uniform...but in a very weird way. Makes for an awesome variant cover though! Writer Ed Brubaker's not going to make life for the New Cap anymore easier, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Super Street Fighter IV Update: Seth Killian Previews Hakan On Gamespot!

You all know him and some already want to play him, but Super Street Fighter IV newbie Hakan will only be playable to the whole world once Super Street Fighter IV gets released at the end of April. However, some privileged people who have played early promo versions of the game have taken a whack at what the Turkish Wrestler can do, and one man who can best describe the new guy from head to toe is none other than Capcom representative Seth Killian! Appearing on Gamespot's "On The Spot" show, Seth talks all things Hakan, and describes how he plays on the game, as well as an overall look on Super Street Fighter IV itself. Check out this brief segment/ clip from the 80 minute special, courtesy of Capcom Unity and You Tube:

Shout Out Some "Heavy Rain"!

Any of you folks play Heavy Rain? If you did, you'll probably have a kick out of this one. Seeing as how this is supposed to be dramatic themed video game full of depression and stuff, I'm quite pleased that somebody had the smarts to make a video circling on the one thing screaming on top of players heads when we recount our initial experience with certain chapters starring lead protagonist Ethan Mars. Don't get me wrong, I like the game a lot, but it sets itself up for some humorous moments. Check it:

Heavy JASON!

Now you know. Can anyone shout "JASON" and "SHAUN"! that much?

And no... I won't spoil who the Origami Killer is in the game, just in case you were wondering.XD

Look And Behold The Cover To Batman #700!

In a few months time, certain DC books are hitting a landmark in the issue count, and one of them involves is a famous dark individual who stalks crime at night and protects the populace of Gotham City. Of course, I'm talking about the one and only Caped Crusader, Batman, and the flagship title that bears his name and continuing adventures reaches a milestone with the aoon-to-be released issue #700 in June 2010! To celebrate, DC has charged newly signed and exclusive artist David Finch to handle the cover duties, and for a taste of things to come, DC has revealed it, all colored and inked for the fans to drool over!

Nice cover, and in true Finch style too. It's obvious that the bats we're looking at is still Dick Grayson, but nevertheless, it's still Batman, and the end result is all that matters.

Impressive is just one of the many words I can give to salute Finch's work. Ever since his days at Marvel, his art has just been wonders to see, especially when it comes to the action and fighting bits his work so effortlessly brings to life time and again. He was the artist paired with Brian Michael Bendis when the writer destroyed the Avengers during "Avengers: Disassembled. Eventually the duo relaunched Earth's Mightiest Heroes with "The New Avengers", and afterwards Finch went on to draw other characters like Moon Knight and supply covers for events like "World War Hulk" and "Messiah Complex".

Now that he's with DC, lots of art possibilities can come up now that David Finch is on board. We got a taste of his work with the cover to Brightest Day #1, and now we have one for Batman #700... which is just awesome. I can't wait to see his work on later titles, and possibly a Justice League project if he gets the chance!

Watch Out! Predators!

I'm so looking forward to this film that it deserves a posting!

I've always been a big Predator fan. Ever since the first film with Big Arnold headlining and shouting his infamous "GET TO DA CHOPPAH!" line, I've been intrigued on seeing more of these wily alien warriors on screen, and there were a lot of sequels over the years featuring the species doing what they do best - hunt for sport and play a deadly game of survival of the fittest against their prey... with a self-destruct option at their disposal! Indeed, these Predators were bred to be the toughest S.O.B's on the universe, even taking on the most primal and deadliest species that space has ever known in the "Alien vs Predator" series. Now that we're getting a new stand alone Predator film this year, I expect it to be more badass and bloody than ever before, especially with Armored's Nimród Antal directing Desperado's own Robert Rodriguez producing this flick! Not only that, it's starring a well known assemble of actors, namely Adrian Brody, Topher Grace, and Laurence Fishburne among the list! Wanna see it for yourselves? Check out the sneak peek below and see the hunt on the move:

"Predators" Sneak Peek!

Look out for danger, prepare for blood, and get ready for the hunt... the Predators are coming this year...

Prepare For... Night Of The Living Trekkies!

This concept is... Fascinating.

As posted in io9, the publisher of the infamous "Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies" novel will be releasing a new tale of brains, brains, and MORE BRAINS by mixing things up with a little "Star Trek" flavor to it! Entitled "Night Of The Living Trekkies", the story's going to be about the living dead invading a Star Trek convention. When all hell breaks loose, a band of Trek fans have to band together "to seek out life" and protect themselves, using their wits, strengths, and every Trek knowledge they have to get out alive, be it with phasers or the Klingon way! This is so fun a concept that I can hardly contain my excitement, and I can't wait to read it once it's out!

For more info on Brains and Starships, check out the post on io9. Excelsior!

Christopher Nolan Will Do Batman 3... and Superman!

For those unaware of the big news hitting the superhero news waves, Chris Nolan has officially confirmed that there WILL BE a third Batman film under his direction! Not only that, he's also going to be involved in relaunching a certain Man Of Steel's film franchise, serving in a producer capacity that has the whole movie and comic community in a talking frenzy! How will the man who directed the widely successful superhero flick "The Dark Knight" deliver his take on Superman? It's too early to speculate, but Nolan has a steady crew working with him that has proven in their own capacity that they are the best of the best to handle material related to the superhero genre. Famous screenplay writer David S. Goyer in particular is on board as well to handle the writing duties of the Man Of Steel's new flick, and just remembering his involvement with Blade and Batman makes me assured that things will work right this time.

As for The Bat himself, Nolan's already prepping up a story to follow up to his two previous blockbusters, but according to the smooth British director, this will be the end of the line of his Batfilm franchise, as he's going to give a clear ending to the saga and the tale of Bruce Wayne's alter ego. For more info and details, check out Newsarama or this link here of Yahoo's Movie Talk post regarding this scoop and the future of the Bat and Supes films. When are these films gonna show? Hard to say, but it looks to be from two to three years from now. If you're a fan, this buzz is a must read!

It's just cool to get a taste of superior tech again, and new teases of awesomeness are always welcome! New Avengers Update: The Thing Is A New Avenger!

Like the rock and heart that bears his heroic presence, The Fantastic Four's very own Benjamin Grimm explodes into the Heroic Age as the newest member of Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen's New Avengers! It may come as a surprise to some who are reading this, but the ever-lovin' blue eyed Thing has been featured in the teaser poster of the Heroic Age, so that should have clued us in on his enlistment to the group. One of Ben's closest hero friends, Luke Cage, happens to be the leader of the new team, so that gives him enough of a reason to join in. Also, The Thing IS also an original member of the older Avengers teams, having served in the now defunct West Coast Avengers and holding a reservist membership that allows him to answer the call when Earth's Mightiest Heroes are needed. Well, whatever the case, we can finally say that the "New" New Avengers are heroes who are doing double time... for the sake of mankind!

New Avengers redebuts on June as part of the Heroic Age!

New Avengers Update: Here's Jewel In Your Eyes!

She's been seen on the sidelines and is the wife of heavy hitter Luke Cage, but Jessica Jones finally steps out of the shadows and reassumes her heroic identity of Jewel, making her debut as the newest member of the New Avengers! Jessica has been a star in her own right thanks to her own series "Alias", but Brian Michael Bendis sends her back to the forefront as a New Avenger, fighting alongside her husband and their teammates in the latest incarnation of the team, which debuts this June as part of the Heroic Age! Watch out for it!

New Avengers Update: Wolverine Is A New Avenger!

Like clockwork, Marvel has announced the third member of the New Avengers team set to debut on June, and it's none other than the feral mutant hero, Wolverine! I guess everyone could see this coming, but the X-men's lone wolf warrior will once again join the ranks of Earth's Mightiest Heroes when the Heroic Age graces us! The question is, will he and his teammate Spider-Man do double time with the other Avengers team set to appear this May? We'll have to wait for clarifications from Bendis himself, but what's important now is that Logan returns, and he's the best there is at what he does... period!

Siege: Fallen Teaser: “Who Will Fall In The End”?

Marvel's big event, Siege, has yet to end, but the House Of Ideas is already cranking up the teasers and images of what's to come in a few months time. This one in particular, however, shows a hero falling in battle, and the war for Asgard has yet end before we find out who's bought the farm in the sky. The teaser you're looking at now is the cover to "Siege: Fallen" - a one shot due this April that will wrap things up and show heroes mourning the death of "who knows what". No writer has been announced, but the art will be by Tom Raney, with the cover art above by Leinil Francis Yu. Stay tuned for more updates as it comes via Marvel or Newsarma.

Spider-Man... New "New Avenger"!

Marvel and Newsarama have unveiled the second member of the "New" New Avengers roster set to debut this June... And it's none other than your friendly neighborhood, web-slinging hero - The Amazing Spider-Man! No stranger to the team set up and being a member for quite time already, Spidey has always been a fan favorite, valuing heroics and responsibility like the lovable hero that he is. He's been a great asset to the newest iteration of Earth's Mightiest Heroes since they formed after Avengers Disassembled, and his presence here was expected to say the least. However, he also appeared in the cover to AVENGERS #1... could he be doing double time like his teammate Luke Cage, who was also announced for NA but will be appearing in THUNDERBOLTS as well? I guess time will tell, as things get more wild in this bright, upcoming Heroic Age!

New Avengers #1 debuts on June. Watch out for more members to be announced!

A New X-men Teaser Image...

I don't know what this images means... but it's gold, shiny, and has blood on the side that reminds me of something... familiar...

"Who Watches The X-men"? Hmmm... Let's wait til July then.

The Return Of... The New Avengers?!

I'm surprised by this announcement as anybody, but it appears that Brian Michael Bendis is not going to back down with the series just yet!

As reported in Marvel and Newsarama, the NEW AVENGERS are returning with a relaunch of issue #1 as part of the Heroic Age. However, it will not be released alongside the other new titles, AVENGERS and SECRET AVENGERS, and will have its debut instead on June this year. As you can see from the teaser above, the first inductee and probably the de facto leader of the group will be none other than Luke Cage, who's no stranger to leadership since he led the underground, unregistered New Avengers team after the events of Civil War. Cage, who's "Never Backed Down From A Fight", will also be appearing in Thunderbolts in a leader capacity as well, so it should be interesting to see him juggle his time between the two teams. It's nice that another team makes their presence known... but that means it's 3 Avengers titles on the horizon already!

New Avengers will be written by Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by Stuart Immonen. More info in Newsarama via the link.

The PS3 Global Lockdown Bug Situation...

Since browsing the net earlier today for gaming news, I haven't turned on my PS3, due to the possibility that it may suffer the same fate as many older versions have around the world - a global lockdown that not only renders the Playstation Network inaccessible, but makes some games unplayable, even if they're offline. This is the latest buzz of concern circling Sony's next gen monolith console, and as reported in gaming news sites like Destructoid and Kotaku, an error message appears that blocks online access and bugs out offline gaming frequently.

The only thing known for sure is that the Slim models of the PS3 are immune and put of danger... it's the "Phat types", like the 80GB Model I own, that are in danger. Currently, Sony is looking into the problem and working out kinks to fix the issue, but when and how they will patch things up is still up in the air. Personally, I'd rather wait til a complete fix comes, so for the time being, my PS3 shall remain offline. I'm keeping my eyes sharp on the news and updates on this scoop, and hopefully I can get back to some gaming time sooner than later.

For more information, check out the Kotaku article itself via this link.
