The Avengers: New TV Spot and Mexican magazine cover!

Mexican magazine Cine PREMIERE magazine was released this week, spotlighting Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios' upcoming superhero team flick The Avengers! The cover is actually a composition of images we've seen in the new posters and banners for the movie, but it's laid out so well for this magazine that I actually wish it was the real poster for the movie! Take a look at it below, courtesy of Cine PREMIERE and Comic Book Movie!

Also, check out this new Brazlian TV Spot for the film, which expands on the conversations Loki has with Nick Fury and Tony Stark/ Iron Man, courtesy of Slash Film and YouTube!

It's not much of big news considering it was reported some months back, but now official confirmation has arrived via Warner Bros. of the return of a character in Christopher Nolan's Batman film franchise, who's set to appear once more in his third and final film "The Dark Knight Rises". Anyone who's read the related posts to this previously will know who's being talked about. The Avengers: German poster appears online

Via Comic Book Movie and site Prosieben.at, the German poster for Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios' superhero blockbuster summer flick "The Avengers" has appeared online... and looks rather simple compared to the other posters that have been churned out. Spoiler Alert for Iron Man 3: A fellow Avenger will cameo in the film!

Considering that the build up to Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios "The Avengers" is in full swing, fans of Earth's Mightiest Heroes are pumped up and can't wait to see the superhero blockbuster film in theaters this May! However, that doesn't mean that the studios can relax and rest easy, as they're busy already on the planning stages for what they call "Phase 2" of their superhero film initiative, which begins with Iron Man 3 next year! Of course, Robert Downey Jr. is onboard and signed up to play Tony Stark once more for the new sequel, which will be directed by Shane Black. Thing is, he won't be the only hero appearing in the movie, and I'm not talking about his friend James "Rhodey" Rhodes/ War Machine either! A fellow Avenger will be appearing alongside ol' shellhead in the movie to help him out, but who it is is the question.

SPOILER ALERT, so look at your own risk!

The Walking Dead: The Origin of Michonne by Robert Kirkman in Playboy Magazine

By now, many of you have probably seen (or not) the Season 2 Finale of AMC's The Walking Dead, which wrapped up things nicely despite some mixed reactions and comments by the fanbase over the season's pacing. With Frank Darabont no longer in as showrunner, responsibilities fell over to the other executive producers, among them Glen Mazzara, Greg Nicotero, and The Walking Dead creator himself, Robert Kirkman. Despite losing Darabont, they've remained true to keeping his vision alive and the series a certified hit among fans and viewers alike. With Season 3 due to come this October, everyone is already geared for two things: The Prison arc and the introduction of The Walking Dead comic book character and samurai sworld wielding chick Michonne to Television! She made a small cameo appearance in the finale, and to tie-in to that, Playboy and The Walking Dead comics' creators have teamed up to tell her origin in 6 pages!

Those who don't know who Michonne is, best stay away as there will be SPOILERS in the next few pages, which serves as her origin story for her comic book iteration (who first appeared in Isuue #19, which is now selling for $1850 according to Bleeding Cool)! Released in this month's Playboy magazine. "Michonne's Story" is done by the creators of the comic themselves: written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Charlie Adlard! Anyone who's a fan of TWD better not miss this, so check it out after the jump... but consider this a SPOILER ALERT and read at your own risk!

Reactions to the TMNT reboot by Michael Bay...

By now, everyone around the world has probably heard the big news of Michael Bay's vision for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. Earlier this week, the Transformers film series director revealed his company Platinum Dunes was producing the new Heroes in a half shell flick during the Nickelodeon Upfront 2012 event... And he sent the entire Turtle fandom ablaze by saying something detailed in this video embedded below:

Michael Bay talks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by stuffwelike

He said that "These Turtles are from an alien race."...

That was enough to spark a big outcry from fans everywhere. As a fan of TMNT myself since the 80's Fred Wolf animated series, I can't even begin to describe my reservations for the "new direction". It's funny how Bay gave his own twist on Transformers with the 3 movies he already did, and we all know how those turned out. The franchise still made millions of dollars regardless, and one has to wonder if he'll add babes and explosions to his vision of the once mutant turtles now turned "aliens".

We'll know soon enough when future details for the new TMNT flick rise. For now, check out more on the story and reactions via Comic Book Movie.

Screen Rant and Comic Book Movie have posted up what looks to be the first teaser poster for Hugh Jackman's next outing as the mutant Wolverine in his latest X-Men spin-off movie directed by James Mangold which is entitled "The Wolverine"! The poster, reportedly taken in the director's office and posted online via Instagram, has Logan's trademark claws slashing the Japanese flag, which confirms reports of the setting of the movie in that country and confronting the Silver Samurai. It's unconfirmed at this point and no official word has come from 20th Century Fox, but it looks like the internet never stays quiet when it comes to Wolverine movie news. First Look: Stephen Amell as Green Arrow for CW's "Arrow"

Tvline.com has released the very first "first look" image of actor Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow for the new upcoming superhero TV series by The CW called "Arrow".
Considering it's based on the DC Comics' emerald archer, it does have an odd title. Nevertheless, it's going to be a "darker and hard-edged show", as executive producer David Nutter points out.

Also released is the official synopsis for the new TV series, which goes like this:

"After being marooned for five years on a remote island, former billionaire playboy Oliver Queen returns with a mysterious agenda and a lethal set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime."

While it has no relation to the other Warner Bros. and CW TV series Smallville, Arrow will follow the same path of retelling Green Arrow's origins and adventures in his early years. For more info, visit the source posts at tvline.com, Comic Book Movie, and Io9

Street Fighter X Tekken fan films pay tribute to awesome!

Having been out for almost a week and enjoyed by fighting game buffs worldwide, Street Fighter X Tekken is nothing short of awesome. Yes, it weighs more on the Street Fighter IV side in terms of gameplay since it's a Capcom developed game, but we'll be getting Namco Bandai's version of the crossover eventually. Right now, the game is doing wonders by delivering some serious competition and fun for brawlers, and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Suffice to say, there are creative peeps out there who have been inspired to create fan films as tribute for this dream match pairing between two franchises. Here's a couple that I found that are too great to describe and absolute need to be viewed!

STREET FIGHTER (SFxTK) Vega VS Jun

Directed by Mike Diva, this awesome fan video shows a fight to the death between Tekken's Jun Kazama and Street Fighter's Vega! It's quite literally one of the best fighting game inspired fan videos I've seen to date, and the music by Diva's brother DAT BEAT hits the mark nicely!

Street Fighter x Tekken: The Devil Within - Short Film

Another instant classic fan video by a team that has composed some of the best fight choreographed fan videos out there, Thousand Pounds delivers their own take of the Street Fighter X Tekken saga by pitting Ryu against Kazuya! The Satsui No Hadou faces off The Devil Gene, in this 9 minute plus short film that's aptly titled "The Devil Within"!

The Avengers: New Japan trailer shows new footage!

The Avengers: A new banner ad appears

Spotted at Fandago's home page and posted over at Comic Book Movie, a new banner ad has appeared for Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures upcoming superhero team flick "The Avengers", and it looks a slight improvement over the previously released theatrical poster that was met with mixed reactions from fans. The new banner has new poses for Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), plus the first poster appearance of Cobie Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Maria Hill! Cap in battle pose and with the mask on is a big improvement over the previous poster, but Robert Downey Jr. still steals the center spotlight as Tony Stark/ Iron Man. One can only hope we get a better poster after this... But it's a long shot as there's only less than two months left until this baby hits theaters! The Slovak Batman who makes a difference...

In the town of Dunajska Streda lives a silent protector. A man who wants to make a difference by helping his community, and has embraced the symbol of the bat by donning a costume. That man is 26 year old Zoltan Kohari, also know as the Slovak Batman. He lives alone in an abandoned building without electricity, heat, or water, and strives to make people's lives easier by lending a helping hand whenever he can. His story serves as an inspirational one, and if one Slovakian individual chooses to be and do something more despite his limitations, then there's heart to his cause... Even if it's not fighting crime and beating up the bad guys.

If Batman Incorporated actually existed, then this would be a perfect candidate to the group Bruce Wayne/ Batman founded to fight crime and preserve justice. Well done for your story, Slovak Batman. You can read up the rest of the article and his tale via the source posts at Yahoo! and Reuters.

Fully Booked: Important Update on David Finch in Manila

I'd thought I'd share this bit of breaking news to everyone who was looking forward to seeing DC Comics artist and writer David Finch in Manila from March 11, 12, and 13. Via Fully Booked's official website, here's the announcement:

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

David Finch in Manila Dear Customers and David Finch Fans,

Thank you all for your enthusiasm and support for David Finch's visit! We regret to inform you that his visit to Manila this March 11-13 will no longer push through. David was already at the airport, checked-in, and ready to board the plane, when it was discovered that his passport expires in June of this year. Since a passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months to travel, David was not allowed to board the plane.

We share your disappointment at this turn of events. Likewise, David is also regretful as he is very much excited to meet his fans here.

David Finch will definitely still come to Manila, but at a later date. Please stay tuned for details.

UPDATE 2 From Timzster and Justice PH: (Sat 12:50pm)

To those who read Fully Booked's announcement on David Finch,

I'm sure you've read the update by now, and it's unfortunate news indeed that the DC Comics artist won't be able to attend his scheduled tour. However, I and the rest of Gotham PH (Justice Ph) and Gotham Madness will still be in Bonifacio High Street tomorrow to make the most of things and do what we do best - suit up and entertain as the heroes we've come to admire and love reading in comics. We'll be there in full force as the Batman family and his accompanying Rogues Gallery, so expect to see the likes of The Dark Knight, Nightwing, Red Robin, Robin, Batgirl, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, and more.

I have been informed by Fully Booked themselves that we'll be giving some Batman stuff to those still going tomorrow. Mr. Finch may not be around, but treat it as a gathering of the local Batman cosplay community if you will, and feel free to take pictures with us if you're in the area! If any of you still want to pass by and have some fun with the family, here's a good reason to take them to Bonifacio Global City and Fully Booked tomorrow.:)

 Tim/ Timzster

UPDATE 3: (Sat 1:55pm)

Just got final word from Fully Booked on the cosplay appearance of Gotham PH (Justice Ph) and Gotham Madness. Sorry fellas, that's been postponed until the time David Finch actually visits.:(

Any developments or updates arrive, I'll post it here, and check on the official Fully Booked site for details.

DC Comics unveils Jim Lee's FCBD New 52 Cover

DC Comics has unveiled the cover fans will undoubtedly talk about and want: Jim Lee's cover artwork to their Free Comic Book Day book entitled DC Comics The New 52 FCBD Edition! Besides illustrating the cover you see above, Lee will also illustrate five pages of the free book being given away on May 5, 2012, including a four-page gatefold that introduces a new storyline for Justice League, a book that he and writer Geoff Johns have launched and are currently doing for The New 52!

As Co-Publisher of DC Entertainment, Lee's work has been highly valued in the comic book world, and he's known for his works in comic books such as Wildcats, X-Men, Batman: Hush, and now Justice League. As a fan of his works, this is a stellar cover featuring the trinity of DC heroes - Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Right at the background is the mysterious Pandora, who was first introduced in the pre-New 52 storyline Flashpoint and has been seen watching events from behind the scenes. One has to wonder what kind of story the New 52 FCBD will provide besides being a primer of the new DC Universe. We can only wait and see until it comes out, absolutely for free, on May 5th, Saturday this year! For more info, visit the source post at DC The Source!

A New Iron Man will appear in Invincible Iron Man #518

Apparently come the next few months, Tony Stark won't be Iron Man anymore.

Released by Marvel Comics and shared by Comic Book Resources and Comic Book Movie, the teaser above suggests that a new man will become the armored avenger, as Mr. Stark will resign following the Long Way Down storyline. What exactly happens in that event that forces Tony to give up becoming ol' shellhead is still a mystery, but writer Matt Fraction stated in an interview that he will make him leave the identity, and someone else will become the new Iron Man. Will it be one of his trusted confidants or close friends, or someone totally unexpected? Personally, the new armor looks a little too Tron-like for my tastes, but hopefully there's a good explanation for this. We'll just have to wait and find out when Invincible Iron Man #518 hits comic book stores and retail shops.
