Happy Halloween 2012!


It's All Hallow's Eve! Trick or Treat, Ghouls and Ghosts, or whatever strikes your frightful fancy, this is a day where everything and anything that scares you can be put to good use, and there's a couple of things in the popculture spectrum that you may want to consider looking at! Breaking News: Disney Buys LucasFilm

It's Halloween and Trick or Treat's on the game, but this isn't a trick either.



According to multiple sources and news sites, Disney has just cemented another milestone in its legacy by buying George Lucas' own LucasFilm!

Grand Theft Auto V officially announced for Spring 2013


Following months of teasers and sneak peeks, Rockstar Games has finally announced when Grand Theft Auto V will be released: by Spring 2013! The news broke out in the video game developer's official website, as well as gaming news site Kotaku.

The Wolverine: New teaser poster, Live Chat, and 3D confirmed


Following the Live Chat blog that had star Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold answer questions for the fans, 20th Century Fox has released the new teaser poster for their next solo installment for the X-Men mutant hero Wolverine that's aptly titled "The Wolverine"! The film has been confirmed for a 3D release (news via Geek Tyrant), and will take place with Wolvie's next adventure happening in Japan. Chronologically set after the events of "X-Men: The Last Stand", debunking rumors of the movie being set as another prequel. There will be flashback scenes however that show Logan branding bone claws as several pics have shown on the internet.

Arrow: New TV promo references Bludhaven



If you haven't been following the new CW show "Arrow", you're certainly missing out on what's becoming a pretty solid superhero TV series based on DC Comics' own emerald archer, Green Arrow (here's a review on the Pilot episode for reference). The latest promo courtesy of the network highlights the action that viewers can expect thus far, as well as referencing a certain city known to comic readers that read Batman comics, most especially Nightwing! The Dark Knight Rises: Arkham Rising Fan Film


A unique fan film has surfaced online that shows an angle that would have likely taken place during the events of Christopher Nolan's epic final Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. A Good Day To Die Hard: Trailer and Poster debut online


Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, 20th Century Fox has released the teaser poster to "A Good Day To Die Hard", which sees Bruce Willis returning to action once more as John McClane! Teaming up with his son Jack played by Jai Courtney, the father and son duo take the heat and cop work to Russia on this fifth installment! Besides featuring McClane front and center, the teaser one sheet plays around with a famous line the badass cop hero says in the franchise!

After a short burst of teasers and unveiling some new photos and the very first official poster, Marvel has finally unleashed the long awaited trailer to "Iron Man 3"! Directed by Shane Black and bringing back Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/ Iron Man, the armored avenger must suit up to take on a new threat that's hitting everything he knows and loves... Iron Man 3: Sneak Peek teases the Teaser Trailer on Tuesday.


Literally teasing what's in store for the armored avenger's next live-action film adaptation, Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios have released a 17-Second Teaser for their upcoming first trailer to "Iron Man 3"!



The Shane Black directed film puts Robert Downey Jr. back as Tony Stark/ Iron Man, as he faces a new and more dangerous threat that will have him fighting harder to protect those he loves and reevaluate what makes him a hero: the suit or the man? Check out 17 Seconds of pure iron goodness.

Skyfall: New two minute trailer revealed


Set to debut next week in the UK and show afterwards throughout the rest of the world in different release dates, Daniel Craig returns to his signature role as James Bond in the 23rd film installment of the franchise entitled "Skyfall". Justice League set for 2015 release



With no director yet attached to the project, the rumored "Justice League" film has now been set for a Summer 2015 release by Warner Bros. themselves. According to a report by The Los Angeles Times, the studio plans to shoot the movie next summer, and will prep it up for a release on the same year The Avengers 2 comes out. Hopefully by then, DC Comics fans will finally get the team movie it deserves.

Review: The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 1: "Seed"


Premiering last night at AMC, the fantastic television series that is The Walking Dead returns for another season of gore and survival. Reuniting the surviving cast members after what went down at the previous season's finale, Rick Grimes and his group venture forth in search of a safe haven in Season 3. The Pilot episode, aptly titled "Seed", holds many meanings in what lies in store for our heroes... And the dangers that lurk ahead because of the undead apocalypse and more. With the new season on the rise, it's time to "Fight The Dead" and "Fear The Living" as the slogan of the series implies.

The Walking Dead: Season 3, Episode 1 "Seed" Clip

NYCC '12: "Darkstalkers Are Not Dead" Teaser

Those itching and praying for a new Darkstalkers game from Capcom may have just gotten their wish!



At Capcom's New York Comic Con 2012 panel, Street Fighter IV producer and game scribe Yoshinori Ono unveiled to the world a teaser that signifies that "Darkstalkers Are Not Dead", and a new game is certainly underway! NYCC '12: Spider-Man and Superman get new ongoing titles in 2013






Like a clash of thunder echoing in the air, two new titles were announced by "The Big 2" comic book companies known worldwide, namely DC Comics and Marvel, at this month's New York Comic Con. Both involve two of the best known superheroes ever, Spider-Man and Superman, and it's going to send shockwaves and excitement for readers who have jumped into the new initiatives both companies have carried out, that being DC Comics The New 52 and Marvel NOW! respectively.



Set to launch on January 2013, Amazing Spider-Man writer Dan Slott will team up with artists Ryan Stegman, Humberto Ramos, and Giuseppe Camuncoli on a new ongoing Spider-Man series called "Superior Spider-Man"! After the flagship title "The Amazing Spider-Man" ends with issue #700 this new book will replace it, seeing everyone's favorite Wall-Crawler upping the ante and changing his costume to relfect a darker tone. Also announced that's sure to make waves in the comicdom is a new ongoing Superman title that will be part of DC Comics "New 52" universe. Penned by Scott Snyder and drawn by Jim Lee, the as of yet "Untitled Superman" comic will be launching in 2013, and most likely coinciding with the release of the new Superman reboot flick "Man Of Steel". Hopefully it will be akin to classic stories of Kal-El and his alter ego, as it will include Clark Kent's life as well and those closest to him. Check Newsarama for more details!

Marvel and Sony announce Iron Man: Rise of Technovore


Marvel Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced that Iron Man will be returning to anime form, in a new animated movie called "Iron Man: Rise of Technovore"! With animation by Madhouse and directed by Hiroshi Hamasaki, the new feature-length film will see Tony Stark and his alter ego take on Ezekiel Stane, son of his old archnemesis Obadiah Stane, aka the Iron Monger. With Ezekiel unleashing terrorist attacks set across the globe and Tony being framed for it, Tony must evade S.H.I.E.L.D personel and do whatever it takes to clear his name and stop Stane and his new bio-technology.

With the story of the film by Brian Auman, "Rise of Technovore" looks to be a loose adaptation of "The Five Nightmares" storyline from the 2008 Invincible Iron Man series penned by Matt Fraction and drawn by Salvador Larocca, where the character of Ezekiel Stane first appeared. The animated film is set for a Spring 2013 release, with other heroes like War Machine, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury, and The Punisher appearing in it as well! As the build up to the release of the 23rd James Bond flick "Skyfall" continues, so does the promotions for the film and nostalgia many have for the British Secret Service agent who has charmed the entire globe with his adventures since 1962. The Lone Ranger Trailer


After months of behind-the-scenes whispers, pics, and the unveiling of the first official poster recently, Disney has officially released the first trailer to their upcoming 2013 film adaptation of the classic western themed hero, The Lone Ranger! With the preview also attached to screenings of Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, the film is directed by Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the film sees Armie Hammer take on the role of the titular character, and the famous Johnny Depp playing his sidekick Tonto!

Marvel Movies: New Iron Man 3 pic and Black Widow coming to Captain America 2


Via Newsarama and The Daily Mail, a new pic has surfaced online showing the new Iron Man armor and Iron Patriot armor side by side, both of which will be featured in next year's Iron Man 3. Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark/ Iron Man, and Don Cheadle will be back as his best friend Rhodey, who will upgrade his armor from War Machine to said Iron Patriot armor. The armored heroes will face off against Ben Kingsley, who is set to play The Mandarin in the film directed by Shane Black. Also announced via Bleeding Cool is that Scarlett Johansson is all set to return as Black Widow in Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. How big her role will be in that sequel remains to be seen, but more notes on her casting as well as that of Cap's love interest can be read via the note at Bleeding Cool.

Seth MacFarlane announced as host for 85th Academy Awards

Just like an episode of Family Guy, this was totally unexpected!


Announced online by newssites like Entertainment Weekly and creating a buzz like never before in his career, Family Guy and American Dad creator Seth MacFarlane was revealed to be the chosen host for the 85th installment of the Academy Awards, also known as The Oscars. Given his record for humor and not actually hosting an big event of this caliber, this is indeed a BIG surprise, and once can only wonder what's in store for The Oscars next year!
