Report: DC Animated producer Bruce Timm stepping down
The end of an era has arrived for DC Animation, as reports in the web verify that Bruce Timm, the legendary creator of the DC Animated Universe, has stepped down from his role as DC Animated producer.
Having been a prominent presence in Warner Bros. and DC Comics since the early 90's, Timm co-created and produced the critically acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series, which would help redefine and popularize The Dark Knight in mainstream media and usher in the creation of the "DCAU", which expanded its reach with the release of Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited.
Along with Paul Dini, Timm was also responsible for the creation of the beloved Batman character and The Joker's girlfriend. Harley first appeared as an exclusive character in BTAS, but her popularity and warm reception by fans soon allowed her to spill over to other DC media, including regular DC Continuity.
Bruce Timm's departure was first reported by Visions of Krypton, then subsequently by other popular comic news sites such as Newsarama. His recent works remain etched in the minds of fans, especially with him serving as producer for several of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies, including recent animated adaptation of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Replacing him is former storyboard artist James Tucker, who has quite the experience and resume working in DC Animation. For more information, visit the source post at Visions of Krypton and Newsarama.

DC Comics announces "Batman The Zero Year" origin story
Since DC Comics began their relaunch with The New 52 universe in 2011, much talk and speculation came about as to how semi-reboot series like the "Batman" and "Green Lantern" titles would fit into the new continuity. Instead of a total new reboot altogether, portions of history from the pre-DC New 52 timeline existed and carried over to the new status quo, and while Green Lantern more or less had a smooth transition without any disruptions to it story, the Batman universe didn't really fair the same, with eyebrows raising over things like how all the Robins served under Batman in the 5-6 years since his emergence to fight crime. Case in point, a story had to be told concerning the definite origins of The New 52 Batman... And DC Comics is looking to do just that.
Via a report from the Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex, DC Comics will unleash a brand new origin story called "Batman: The Zero Year", to be handled by the superstar "Batman" comic team of writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo. Following their successful runs with "The Court of Owls", "The Night of Owls", and most recently "Death of the Family", the new story arc was announced by DC on Monday, and will span 11 issues to tell the definite "origin story" of how The Batman came to be in the New 52 universe. It was touched on briefly with "Zero Month" last September, but now the definite history will be told beginning the middle of this year. For more information on the story, visit the source post at Hero Complex.
Batman: The Zero Year begins on June 21!

After wrapping up "The Dark Knight Trilogy" with"The Dark Knight Rises" and now overseeing this year's "Man of Steel" as executive producer, Christopher Nolan has cemented his legacy as one of the best known directors in Hollywood to date. Besides resurrecting the Batman film franchise, the British director and screenwriter has also directed successful films in the form of "Memento" and "Inception", and has collaborated time and again with several actors and actresses he has used throughout his many films.

Based on J.R.R Tolkien's book of the same name, The Hobbit Trilogy is a prequel to The Lord of The Rings Trilogy and chronicles the adventures of a Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf The Wizard, and a company of dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield. The first film, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", hit theaters last December 12, while the next installment, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug", hits theaters this December 13.
