Even with Superman and Batman getting their own team-up movie in 2015 as a sequel to Man Of Steel, don't count out the other members of the Justice League and heroes/ heroines of DC Comics yet, as Warner Bros. has more news, one good and one somewhat bad.
Looks like The Fastest Man Alive is hitting the small screen yet again, thanks to the success of the other DC Comics superhero TV Series "Arrow" that's based on the Emerald Archer Green Arrow.
In a report by Deadline, The CW Network is reportedly adding The Flash to their list of priorities for upcoming TV Series, following the character's inclusion and appearance in the second season of "Arrow". CW Executive Mark Pedowitz has confirmed that the Scarlet Speedster will indeed be an iteration of the Silver Age and New 52 fan favorite Barry Allen. Arrow creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, as well as DC Comics' Chief Creative Officer and scribe Geoff Johns, are planning to include The Flash as a recurring character alongside Stephen Amell's Arrow, and while he'll be appearing in TV, Berlanti also states that the character is still getting his own feature film, and that "no conflict" will occur between the two mediums. How this will fit into inevitable plans for a "Justice League" film in the DC Cinematic Universe after "Superman Vs Batman" is anyone's guess, but here's hoping for something (and perhaps a cameo in the new TV show by original 1990's Flash TV Series actor, John Wesley Ship). For more on the story, visit the source post at Newsarama.
Meanwhile, the other superhero TV series in development by the CW, namely "Amazon" and featuring the DC Comics heroine Wonder Woman, is reportedly on "pause" and will be put on hold for the moment. Mr. Pedowitz reports that "the script isn't where we want it", referring to the CW/ WB's dissatisfaction with the development process, making a debut in 2014 somewhat unlikely. For more information on the story, visit the source post at Superherohype.
Expect more from The Flash and Wonder Woman in the small and big screen soon from WB, DC Comics, and The CW.

X-Men: Days of Future Past: Viral Marketing Campaign begins, shows Sentinels and Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask
If you've seen "The Wolverine" in theaters and stayed until the mid-credits sequence, there'd be a special scene playing that connects the James Mangold movie directly into next year's most anticipated X-Men sequel, namely X-Men: Days of Future Past. Reuniting the cast from previous X-Men films with that of the 2011 prequel hit X-Men: First Class, the movie will be directed by X-Men and X2 film guru Bryan Singer, returning once again to helm the mutants in their finest hour.
Not one to keep the surprises and build-up at bay, Singer has constantly tweeted surprises in store for the next film, including some behind-the-scenes photos every now and then of cast members suiting up as your favorite men and women from the X-Men film universe. However, the newest viral marketing campaign heats things up by showing off more from Trask Industries and their mutant hunting robot drone army that are the Sentinels... Featuring "Game of Thrones" star and Tyrion Lannister himself Peter Dinklage, who plays Bolivar Trask in the film!

The Wolverine: SHH feature on Famke Janssen's return as Jean Grey
Now playing in theaters worldwide and adding a sixth appearance as Logan to Hugh Jackman's resume, The Wolverine not only serves as a sequel to 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, but also carries over a "figure from the past" that haunts the X-Man and contributes to his self-imposed exile - his unrequited and deceased love interest from the X-Men, Jean Grey.
Reprising her role in the film, actress Famke Janssen has played the role of the Ms. Grey four times now, and has co-starred in three main X-Men films since the original X-Men film in 2000 alongside Mr. Jackman as Wolverine. Reprising her role in a small yet pivotal role as a painful memory that the Ol' Canucklehead can't seen to get over.

DC Comics reveals Batgirl's look & Nightwing's role in the New 52 "Zero Year" story
With Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's latest Batman story arc "Zero Year" going strong with the first two issues and attempting to properly explain the origins of The Dark Knight in the New 52 Universe, DC Comics steps up things in the game by giving fans a first look at how Batgirl/ Barbara Gordon will look during the early years of Batman's career.
Looking drastically different and more on the style of a vigilante crime-fighter in the making, Barbara will be appearing in a very un-Batgirl way in the tie-in Batgirl story that compliments Zero Year, sporting a suit that sees her starting down her path to becoming a fellow winged avenger alongside Gotham City's Dark Knight Defender. According to DC's E-i-C Bob Harris, she'll be forced to defend her home and brother James Gordon Jr. when they're attacked, and through the experience realize her potential to make a difference and protect what she cares for in a new kind of way. The Batgirl tie-in will be written by Marguerite Benett, and illustrated by Fernando Pasarin and Jonathan Galapion. More info can be seen via the source posts at DC Comics.com and Newsarama.
Other titles will also bring in a "Zero Year" feel to them, including Batman's first sidekick and protege Dick Grayson, aka the first Robin and present day Nightwing. In his own series, the tie in will explore Dick's time a year prior to his parents' death, and see where the "Flying Graysons" figure during the events of "Zero Year". For more on the story as well as Nightwing series writer Kyle Higgins thoughts, visit the source post at Newsarama.
Batman: The Zero Year is currently playing out in Batman by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo.

The Wolverine: "The Many Screams of Wolverine" shows Hugh Jackman unleashing it
Practically out in international territories and ready to cut loose elsewhere worldwide, Hugh Jackman is back to reprise his signature role as Logan for a new X-Men spinoff adventure that will test his resolve and force him to face his demons in "The Wolverine".
Directed by James Mangold, the film is a very different take at the X-Men's most dangerous member, and something that explores a side of the character that's rarely seen and goes beyond the heroics and mutant warfare that's more associated with the X-Franchise. This movie's setting in Japan highlights Logan's background as a warrior, and forces him to confront his immortality and come to terms with the demons plaguing and tormenting his soul. It's a unique piece all in all, and something that definitely makes Hugh shine out as the definitive actor to play the part for the pretty impressive sixth time, with a seventh coming happening with next year's X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Now, as Wolverine prepares to tear it open anew in 3D and 2D screens before July ends, Vulture has put together this impressive Supercut of "The Many Screams of Wolverine". Those who have seen the entire X-Men Movie franchise know what the deal here is about, and you just have to see it to believe it.

47 Ronin: First Trailer sees Keanu Reeves and Japanese all-star assemble gather for a samurai adventure
Long delayed and finally seeing the light at the end of this year, Keanu Reeves will return to the big screen again in action form by the end of the year with a westernized adaptation of the real-life samurai legend of the forty-seven ronin, with the title of the movie "47 Ronin". Directed by Carl Erik Rinsch, the film sees Reeves star as a half-Japanese, half-British warrior named Kai, who joins the 47 Ronin in a quest to avenge the death of their master by Lord Kira and defeat anyone who stands in their way.
The film also stars a plethora of Japanese talent who have proven themselves with several Hollywood films, including Pacific Rim's Rinko Kikuchi as Mizuki and the great Hiroyuki Sanada as Kuranosuke Oishi, who is the leader of the Ronin. Sanada's no stranger to Samurai movies either, having starred alongside Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe in the 2003 film The Last Samurai, and also co-starring with Hugh Jackman this year in The Wolverine. Legendary Mortal Kombat and Tekken actor Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa also co-stars as the Shogun, while Battleship and Thor actor Tadanobu Asano plays Lord Kira.

The Wolverine: Coming Soon exclusive interview with director James Mangold
Drumming up the excitement with a few days left until it opens in 3D and conventional theaters, The Wolverine is set to unleash Hugh Jackman once more as the feral mutant, and explore a side of Logan rarely seen that tests his resolve as a warrior and his own immortality. I've been fortunate enough to see the film c/o 20th Century Fox PH, and it's absolutely something to that fans of the X-Men movie franchise should see all the way until the end (and a review to come up very soon).
With the film's nearing in cinemas worldwide, Coming Soon has posted up an exclusive one-on-one interview and feature with director James Mangold, who's proven quite capable on taking on what X-Men movie/s director Bryan Singer started and will continue with X-Men: Days of Future Past next year.

Rurouni Kenshin: First picture of Takeru Satoh back as Kenshin for RK sequel
After being released in theaters last year to critical acclaim, the live-action adaptation of Nobuhiko Watsuki's epic samurai Manga/ Anime Rurouni Kenshin is getting not one, but TWO sequels next year, and will see Takeru Satoh returning as the wandering samurai turned protector.
Known as "Samurai X" to western and international audiences, the new movies won't be out until the beginning of summer 2014. However, the first screenshot from the second film has finally come online, and courtesy of the RK (Samurai X) Facebook page and the Takeru Satoh blog!
It's Himura Kenshin walking inside the Kamiya Dojo. Is he expecting a fight to happen, or is something else going on? For sure, there's more action to be had now that a certain enemy of his to inherit the title of "Hitokiri Battousai" after his retirement is coming.
With Tatsuya Fujiwara of "Death Note" fame cast as "Shishio Makoto", the new sequels will be entitled "Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc" and "Rurouni Kenshin: The End of a Legend Arc". Many Kenshin fans got a taste of what a live action version of their favorite Rurouni warrior could do... And it'll definitely be more intense come the new films next year.
No official release date has been given for the sequels, but expect Rurouni Kenshin to blast into Japanese theaters first in Summer 2014, then get released internationally soon afterward.

SDCC '13: Avengers 2 is officially titled as "Avengers: Age of Ultron"
Following the Marvel Studios panel at the San Diego Comic Con, The Avengers director Joss Whedon officially revealed and announced the title to his 2015 Avengers sequel, and it's called "Avengers: Age Of Ultron".
Naturally, the title comes from the recently concluded early 2013 Marvel Comics event "Age Of Ultron", and will probably clue in to introduce the robot menace and creation of Hank "Ant-Man" Pym as the primary antagonist instead of Thanos (who was teased at the end of The Avengers in 2012). Still, this could be a play for words and go differently, and characters like The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will also be officially introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so only time will tell how this goes. It's also unclear how 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy will connect and lead on to this film, so we can only imagine what Marvel's got in store, not to mention the "surprise role" Fast and Furious series & Riddick star Vin Diesel will have in the MCU.
Age Of Ultron may have possibilities and will introduce another classic Avengers villain into the fold... But it's still a mystery on what exactly will occur at the end of Phase Two. Phase Three also begins after this film with "Ant-Man" directed by Edgar Wright, so this is definitely a setup film for that. Either way, looking forward to the return and expansion of Earth's Mightiest Heroes on film still, and it comes in the same year as the recently announced "Superman/ Batman" film, which will definitely make 2015 a BIG YEAR for popculture movies! SDCC '13: Superman/ Batman... IT'S OFFICIAL!
As the reports speculated and suggested, it indeed has been confirmed.
Straight from the mouth of Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder, Superman/ Batman is indeed going to happen, and it's been OFFICIALLY TEASED AND ANNOUNCED at the end of the Warner Bros. panel at the San Diego Comic Con.
Words cannot describe the feeling right now so many have. DC Cinematic Universe... IT'S ABOUT TIME!
And as seen from this Instagram post... IT'S DAMN TRUE! (UPDATE: AND the official Tweet from WB themselves!)
UPDATE: Here's the official PRESS RELEASE from WB themselves via Superherohype!
On the heels of the worldwide success of "Man of Steel," director Zack Snyder is bringing together the two greatest Super Heroes of all time—Batman and Superman—for the first time on the big screen. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.
"Whilst our ‘Dark Knight' trilogy is complete, we have every confidence that Zack's fresh interpretation will take the character in a new and exciting direction. His vision for Superman opened the door to a whole new universe and we can't wait to see what Zack does with these characters."
The current hit, "Man of Steel," has taken in more than $630 million at the worldwide box office to date, and climbing. Along with its star, Henry Cavill, the upcoming film brings back Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. The new Batman has yet to be cast.
Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who will then pen the screenplay. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with an anticipated release date in Summer 2015.
Silverman stated, "Zack Snyder is an incredibly talented filmmaker, but beyond that, he's a fan first and he utterly gets this genre. We could not think of anyone better suited to the task of bringing these iconic Super Heroes to the screen in his own way." Kroll added, "We are thrilled to be back in business with Zack and his team on this next movie. The success of ‘Man of Steel' is a wonderful testament to the love and support that both fans and new audiences, worldwide, have for these characters. We are very excited to see what Zack has in store for all of us."
Diane Nelson, President, DC Entertainment, noted, "Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack's continuing vision for the DC Universe."
Zack Snyder, who made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con today, breaking the news to audiences there, later said, "I'm so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can't wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let's face it, it's beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world."
The new film brings back Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder as producers. This time, Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are serving as executive producers, along with Benjamin Melniker and Michael E. Uslan.
Thomas offered, "Whilst our ‘Dark Knight' trilogy is complete, we have every confidence that Zack's fresh interpretation will take the character in a new and exciting direction. His vision for Superman opened the door to a whole new universe and we can't wait to see what Zack does with these characters."
The film is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, and Batman characters created by Bob Kane, published by DC Entertainment.

SDCC '13: Rumor: DC Movies like Superman/ Batman movie may be announced at SDCC; The possibilities of starting up a shared DC Movie Universe this way
Take this with a grain of salt and there's no official confirmation yet (until announcement), but word on the grapevine's already spreading that two of DC Comics' most important heroes and icons will be starring together in their own feature team-up film, and COULD be announced during the WB Panel at the San Diego Comic Con.
In anticipation and build up for a shared DC Movie Universe, it looks like The Hollywood Reporter is picking up reports that the next big DC film may be in fact a Superman/ Batman film, where Henry Cavill returns to the big screen as Superman and teams up with a new actor playing Batman. Zack Snyder of course is set to return as director after Man Of Steel, with David S. Goyer penning the screenplay.
Now this is all rumor and hear say at the moment, and the Warner Bros. Panel at the San Diego Comic Con is currently happening. However, given the impending nature of reintroducing Batman into a DC Movie Universe with Cavill's Man Of Steel, this makes perfect sense and is a good lead on to a potential Justice League film. The idea was also teased back in 2007 with a "Superman/ Batman" poster seen in a post-apocalyptic Times Square on Will Smith's "I Am Legend", so the "World's Finest" teaming together on their own flick isn't exactly a new idea. In fact, before the Superman reboot that is MoS happened, this was the plan. It would be a wise move by WB and DC Entertainment too, since it introduces A NEW Batman outside of Christopher Nolan's epic Dark Knight Trilogy of films, and sets the stage for the inevitable rise of a JL film. There's also the rumor of a Flash film for 2016, then JL on 2017 (via Bleeding Cool). Still, let's wait for official confirmation from the SDCC.

DC Comics: Damian Wayne returns in "Damian: Son of Batman" this October
Looks like a certain fan favorite "Boy Wonder" who recently bought the farm will be making his return to the DC Comics Universe... Well, somewhat at least.
Announced in The New York Post, Batman/ Bruce Wayne's son Damian Wayne will be returning in the pages of a four issue miniseries this October entitled "Damian: Son of Batman". The new title, written and illustrated by the character's co-creator Andy Kubert, will serve as a continuation of the future Gotham stories where an older Damian eventually becomes the new Batman following his father's passing.
However, this storyline is just a "potential future", and is not confirmed to hit the current DC Universe timeline that is The New 52 unless stated otherwise. Those getting their hopes up since the character's tragic passing on the pages of Batman Incorporated Vol. 2 #8 best reserve their excitement regular continuity wise... But take heart that the son of the Bat and last Robin is coming back in some form or way. For more information, visit the source post at The New York Post.
