Much like how it was teased at the end of Justice League: War, it looks like fans are getting the actual adaptation of the Aquaman-centered storyline that looks to introduce the King of the Seven Seas properly in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies New 52 timeline.
As confirmed from the special features seen in the back of the upcoming Blu-Ray release of the Batman: Assault on Arkham animated movie, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis is the new film slated for the DC Animated film line.
The news comes from World's Finest Online and Cosmic Book News, and viewers who pick up the film in a few months will get a sneak peek on the next animated release.
First published in comic book form in 2013, "Throne of Atlantis" was a five issue story arc that involved the Justice League facing an Atlantean invasion spearheaded by Aquaman's brother Ocean Master, who declares war on the surface world. It would serve as a build up to another big DC event in "Trinity War", and changed the landscape of Aquaman's world indefinitely.

Throwback Thursday: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Indie game looks POWERFUL
Since it falls on a Throwback Thursday, this is POWERFUL to the eye!
I grew up watching the original Filmation and Mattel's "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" cartoon series, and while it certainly has its chops and hooky animated moments, it is regarded as one of the classics that defined a generation of toys and viewers who remember a universe with magic and myth where the battle between good and evil was waged on a planet called Eternia.
Now, some indie game developers have made what is certainly a SURPRISING marriage of that classic series with a side-scroller game system akin to Final Fight and Golden Axe. Kotaku has posted this amazing article which showcases this amazing He-Man game, that features not only the "Most Powerful Man in the Universe" as a playable character, but also the likes of Man-At-Arms, Teela, Orko, She-Ra, and even guest star Lion-O from the Thundercats?!
If that last line didn't reel you in or convince you, maybe this YouTube video demo will.

Batman 1989 celebrates its 25th Anniversary
Jack Nicholson. Michael Keaton. Tim Burton.
Those names are without a doubt cornerstones behind one of the most impactful films to hit and grace cinematic history back in the late 80's... And helped set a precedent for the superhero movie genre alongside Richard Donner's "Superman: The Movie".
That film was "Batman" - released on June 23, 1989 and directed by Burton.
Heavily dark in tone and inspired by the likes of Frank Miller's "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns", "Batman" saw Michael Keaton star in the titular role as Batman/ Bruce Wayne - setting the origin of the character clearly as a vigilante hero who dresses up as a winged avenger to protect his hometown of Gotham City from the same criminal element that took the life of his parents when he was a child. Opposing him was Nicholson's Joker, who before his transformation was a mob guy named Jack Napier, who falls into a vat of chemicals and transforms into the Clown Prince of Crime. Kim Basinger played Batman's love interest in reporter Vicki Vale, and The Joker equally set his crazy sights on her as he terrorized the populace with his insane antics.
Batman (1989) Original Trailer
Before Christopher Nolan made Batman realistic and epic with his acclaimed set of films in "The Dark Knight Trilogy", Burton's Batman was the best thing to happen, and realized the Caped Crusader for Warner Bros. and DC Comics as a serious crimefighter who took the hero back to his Dark and Brooding roots, which were eclipsed back in the 60's because of the popular 1960's Batman series starring Adam West. It was another chapter in Bathistory that would be memorialized and remembered for generations until this very day, and despite nitpicks and difference at the time, is now truly worthy of praise and honor with its cult status and following. The film was followed by a sequel and the Joel Schumacher films, as well as greenlighting what would be 1992's Batman: The Animated Series!
And yes, while Prince may have done the soundtrack, Danny Elfman's awesome score is just too memorable to forget.
Batman Theme
It's a double celebration indeed for Batman this year, as not only does he celebrate his 75th anniversary, he celebrates the 25th year of one of his important movies!

Report: Yellowjacket to be villain in "Ant-Man" movie
If this story holds weight, then the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film after Avengers: Age of Ultron should prove pretty interesting!
According to a report by Badass Digest and shared by Superherohype, the now Peyton Reed directed Ant-Man movie for July 2015 will feature not only the size changing superhero, but another one of the character's alter ego's as a villain! That's right, Hank Pym's other alias "YellowJacket" is rumored to be the big bad guy for the film, and that's a mighty twist to consider indeed, but not far fetched.
YJ was conceived as one of Pym's identity crisis creations gone rogue before turning hero, so it's a pretty interesting idea. However, Michael Douglas is playing Dr. Pym himself, and he'll be creating the Ant-Man concept which Paul Rudd's Scott Lang will use to become the superhero, but not don the YellowJacket role. That still remains a mystery as to who it is, but again, take this rumor with a grain of salt for now.
Ant-Man is expected to hit theaters in the US on July 17, 2015.

Report: Ben Affleck to star in new solo Batman film in 2019
With production of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice underway, it's still relatively far from the cards as to what Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have for their actual plans on the DC Cinematic Universe. Recent reports have surfaced that not only this movie or Justice League are in development, but so are a few other films, which include Wonder Woman, Shazam, and a Green Lantern/ Flash team-up movie, and is rumored to be announced at this coming San Diego Comic-Con this July.
Now, a new report hailing from Latino-Review and posted in sites like Superherohype suggest that a new Batman film is also going to be in the plans, with Ben Affleck set to reprise his role as the brand new Caped Crusader of cinema. The film is said to have the working title of "The Batman", and will have a release date sometime in 2019, 3 years after BvS and when Affleck is introduced opposite Henry Cavill's Superman.
Again, take these reports/ rumors with a grain of salt until real confirmation arrives.

Report: Brand new Batman animated feature called "Batman Unlimited"
It's Batman's 75th Anniversary this year, and The Caped Crusader of DC Comics is celebrating his big milestone in many ways. Certainly there are many who have wondered what would pop up in the animated series department, after reports of the current series "Beware The Batman" was literally facing the cancellation line after going on hiatus and just returning to wrap up its last few episodes.
Well, there may be somewhat good news for fans looking forward to more of The Dark Knight on the cartoon format after all, as a new Direct-To-DVD feature called "Batman Unlimited" is now on the cards. According to a report by Legions of Gotham, the new image that was featured in the recent Licensing Show is actually a new film ala JLA Adventures, and features a more colorful Batman that is in line with the recent wave of toys released by Mattel sharing a similar design.
No release date has been given for the feature, but expect announcements to come out sometime soon.

Report: GoT star Jason Momoa will be Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
More big reports seem to be hitting up the DC Cinematic Universe spectrum, as a new story that appeared in Hit Flix suggests that Game of Thrones and Conan The Barbarian star Jason Momoa will be playing Arthur Curry... Aka Aquaman and will appear in 2016's big DC Comics Superhero film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"!
Prior to this development, Momoa has denied being attached to the role, as reported in Comic Book.com when they interviewed him initially on rumors he was going to be the Sea based hero. However, now that Hit Flix's report states that director Zack Snyder has finalized his design choices for the King of the Seven Seas' appearance in BvS, one can only wonder how Momoa's version would look - his current and modern appearance, or the 90's hook handed hero with a gladiator inspired design?
Again, like the multi-picture plans story from yesterday, take this report with a grain of salt and until Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment release an official announcement.

Report: DC Movie Schedule through 2018 set for Comic Con reveal
Take this with a big grain of salt for the moment... But it sounds pretty cool nevertheless and the report comes from Deadline founder Nikki Finke, who launched her own website and revealed some pretty EPIC news for fans for DC Comics and Warner Bros. superhero films in particular.
A report has surface that WB and DC are geared to reveal at this year's San Diego Comic-Con their plans for their DC Cinematic Universe schedule through 2018, which lines up not just the already confirmed "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" film already in production and slated for May 2016 and announced Justice League film, but also a Shazam, Wonder Woman, Sandman, a Green Lantern/ Flash film, and even a direct Man of Steel sequel in "Man of Steel 2"! In fact, the JL movie gets a release of May 2017, while MoS 2 is on May 2018! Finke also says that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will feature cameos by not just Wonder Woman and Cyborg, but a new Green Lantern and The Flash! Also, Aquaman is reported to appear in Justice League, completing the line-up seen and generated by The New 52 Justice League reboot launch title.
Again, these are rumors, and until SDCC 2014 these should be anything but official. More details can be seen at the source post at Superherohype and Nikki Finke's new website.

DC Comics: Spoiler's "New 52" look revealed in cover to Batman Eternal #22
Since it began last April, Batman Eternal has easily become one of the most intriguing if not best collaborations of talents DC Comics has put together to build a weekly ongoing series that focuses on The Dark Knight and his world today. With so much plot arcs and storylines going on, it's a wonder how things will come to a head when all is said and done... And how exactly will the repercussions impact the Caped Crusader's legacy, especially since it's his 75th Anniversary this year.
Of course, one of the main highlights is the reintroduction of Stephanie Brown... Aka The Spoiler, who has been absent from the Batbooks since the beginning of The New 52. With the DC Universe rebooted and her history and slate of being a Robin and Batgirl wiped clean, Steph's back to square one, and after appearing in a special "time skip" sneak peek issue in Batman #28 that gave readers a glimpse into the future of the Batverse, the last page showed Stephanie revealed and captured, with her costume on but sans mask.
Now, thanks to DC's full September Solicitations, we have a FULL LOOK at Steph's new costume as Spoiler, in the cover to Batman Eternal #22!
And while the cover is impressive (and courtesy of CBR and Comic Book.com), there'll be more for The Spoiler to do come issue #24, when she faces her own criminal father, The Cluemaster!
Batman Eternal is currently ongoing and is weekly!

Marvel Movies: Ant-Man finds its replacement director in Peyton Reed
After some weeks since the departure of Edgar Wright as director for Ant-Man, Marvel Studios has found its replacement in Yes Man movie director Peyton Reed, who will be joining scriptwriter Adam McKay in developing the live-action film adaptation of the size-changing superhero.
Wright, who was developing Ant-Man since 2006, left the project late last May due to creative differences in the direction and script for the film. Since then, Marvel has been looking for a replacement, which they finally did in Reed and McKay handling writing duties.
The film will still aim for its July 2015 release date, and will still star Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/ Ant-Man and Michael Douglas as Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, creator of the technology that gives the hero his size changing abilities.
For more information, visit the source posts at Marvel.com and ComicBook.com.
Ant-Man is scheduled to hit theaters as the start of the Marvel Cinematic Universe "Phase 3" set of films on July 17, 2015.

Throwback Thursday: Star Trek III: The Search for Spock turns 30 Years!
It's time for another Throwback Thursday entry, and it celebrates the 30th year of one of the most memorable Sci-Fi films I've been lucky enough to witness and see for my generation!
One of the most decorated franchises in Science Fiction media, TV, and Film history has definitely got to be Star Trek, and Gene Roddenberry's brainchild was truly a concept ahead of its time. Teaching many to "Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before", the series started out in 1966, following the voyages of the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise under the command of Captain James. T. Kirk (William Shatner), which would include decorated officers like Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley) among the cast. The series would run for 3 years, and it's popularity would be explored anew in a short lived animated series, as well as other shows over the decades that featured another generation of explorers and facets set in the universe the original show introduced.
However, one of the most memorable experiences of most Star Trek fans including myself was with the films released by Paramount Pictures, the first six of which prominently featured the The Original Series crew, including Shatner, Nimoy, Kelley, and of course George Takei, James Doohan, Nichelle Nichols, and Walter Koenig back and continuing their adventures well beyond their younger days and five-year mission to explore strange new worlds. Beloved among them was is easily considered to be the unofficial "Spock Trilogy" - which started in June 4, 1982 with "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan". Kirk and his crew not only had to face a deadly enemy from their past who returned to unleash havoc, but also had to deal with the consequences of their victory... Namely the death of their Half-Human/ Half-Vulcan friend, Captain Spock.
To note everything in a nutshell would be challenging, but this post is here to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of one of the most important sequels in Trek history, which challenged the beyond and set upon Trekkies the return of one of the most important characters in the series - Star Trek III: The Search For Spock.
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock - Trailer
Released in June 1, 1984, The Search For Spock was directed by Leonard Nimoy - the legendary actor who played the part and immortalized the role himself. intended to undo the heart-wrenching conclusion that its predecessor had by resurrecting Spock and reuniting him back with his dear friends. Unfortunately, the path to his second chance at life was both mind-boggling and difficult to comprehend, as Admiral James T. Kirk and his loyal crew of the Enterprise had to go through great lengths to complete that task. Before he nobly sacrificed himself to save the ship for destruction, Spock mind-melded with Dr. McCoy and imparted his Katra - "his living spirit" onto his other good friend, ensuring a part of him would be remembered and passed to his father, Sarek. Unfortunately Kirk and his crew did not know that, and also left Spock's body in the newly born planet Genesis, which was to be his final resting place after their battle with the madman Khan Noonien Singh.
Spock's Death in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Despite Spock's passing due to excessive radiation exposure from the Warp Core, his body miraculously "became one" with the Genesis planet. This effect is noted by Kirk's son David Marcus, who created and goes to the newly born world aboard the U.S.S Grissom along with Saavik. This "miracle" however is overshadowed by the fact that the illegal "Proto-Matter" used is slowly causing the planet to wither away and combust, and the convenient intervention of a group of Klingons led by Kruge, who believe Genesis is a weapon by the Federation against the Klingon Empire and intend to steal its secrets for themselves.
The Destruction of the U.S.S Enterprise
Following suit, going against direct orders, and stealing the Enterprise to go to Genesis and reclaim Spock's body, Kirk faces Kruge and the Klingons and is able to succeed in retrieving his old friend who is rejuvenated and back among the living. Unfortunately this is not without great costs, as the Enterprise is destroyed to prevent it from falling into Klingon hands and David is killed while trying to protect Saavik. The noble sacrifices made however ensured Spock's resurrection though, as his Katra is reunited with his healed physical self, much to the joy of his family and friends in Vulcan.
If you enjoy Science Fiction and fantasy, I would definitely recommend watching "The Spock Trilogy", and the Star Trek films of that era truly showed that travelling into the great unknown and facing overwhelming odds is what makes it exciting to behold. The J.J. Abrams 2009 reboot and it's 2013 sequel draw lots of inspiration and literally make nods to the films, and arguably they wouldn't have existed without the success and fandom they have enjoyed through the decades. While Wrath of Khan was LITERALLY the epitome of what a fantastic Trek movie should be, The Search for Spock is the sequel that carries things forward and brings us to a new chapter in the lives of the crew of the U.S.S Enterprise.
Happy 30th Anniversary, Star Trek III!

Batman: Arkham Knight: Game delayed until 2015 and new trailer released
It was bound to happen soon, and now the official word is out with a new trailer out to justify the reasons.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Rocksteady Studios have released a brand new trailer for the latest and final chapter in the highly acclaimed "Batman Arkham" video game series with a "Battle Mode Batmobile" trailer for "Batman: Arkham Knight".
Unfortunately, the announcement also comes with news that the game will now be pushed from it's original October 2014 release date to 2015, meaning the next-gen game will see a later release sometime next year. While it may be a hard pill to swallow or some fans, the delay will be worthwhile and give the developers more time to polish out some kinks.
Batman: Arkham Knight will now see release on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on 2015.
