Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: Ben Affleck and company promote "National Save The Bats Week" viral video
Taking time off to do something to promote "National Save The Bats Week", Warner Bros, Zack Snyder, and stars Ben Affleck and Amy Adams have joined forces to create this video that shares why it's important to save The Bats - the same animal and symbolic inspiration behind Affleck's role of the Caped Crusader himself, Batman.
While certainly not a big update in terms of the movie's progress, this is still a great campaign to pay attention, which you can learn more about via http://savebats.org/.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas turns 10 Years today
Can you believe it? GRAND THEFT AUTO: SAN ANDREAS TURNED 10 YEARS OLD TODAY.
As one of the three main GTA games released during the sixth generation of console gaming, this game literally helped Rockstar Games signature sandbox open-world game evolve, and was heavily influenced by early 90's lifestyle, popculture, and music.
Set in the fictional state of San Andreas, the story centers around Carl "CJ" Johnson - an African-American gang member from Los Santos who returns home following the murder of his mother. Reuniting with his family and friends, CJ finds he has to take matters into his own hands to clean things up and remake his destiny to escape all the dirt and corrupt elements hounding everything around his life. As such, the player guide the character through numerous story-based missions and objectives, and eventually explores the vast state of San Andreas, which is divided into three main parts - Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas.
Someone even made this tribute trailer just in time for the anniversary... Which is just COOL.
Released originally for the Playstation 2, GTA San Andreas eventually got ported to other consoles and PC, and is also getting an HD re-release now just in time for its 10th Anniversary for current generation consoles.
Truly, this game is a classic that definitely is worth revisiting for those who enjoy mission based games and sandbox anything goes gameplay.

Honoring Batman co-creator Bob Kane on his 99th Birthday
Today is a very special day for Batfans to honor and remember worldwide, as October 24th marks the birthdate of the Caped Crusader's late and great co-creator - comic book artist extraordinaire Robert Kahn... Better known by his legally changed name of Bob Kane!
Best known for conceptualizing the character who would become The Dark Knight based on influences from Zorro and Leonardo Da Vinci's work on the ornithopter, Bob would be paired together with writer Bill Finger, the latter of which would suggest giving his brainchild the iconic cape and cowl that would become the character's trademark look.
Working together, the pair finally debuted their efforts with the origin of "The Bat-Man" in Detective Comics #27, which was released in May of 1939 and became a critical and commercial success. Since then Batman has become a cultural phenomenon, and his influence and constant evolution through the years has transformed the DC Comics character into a legend, which is honored this year as well with the celebration of the hero's 75th Anniversary.
While Kane passed away on November 3, 1998, his legacy lives on in the character he helped bring to life, which continues to popularize and entertain millions worldwide.
As such, this writer, blogger, multimedia artist, and cosplayer shall remember the man with this collage in honor of his nameday.
Happy 99th Birthday, Bob Kane!

Peter J. Tomasi reveals the cover to Batman and Robin #38... And the return of Damian Wayne?
... Damian? Could it be?
As posted by writer Peter J. Tomasi in his official Twitter account and reported by Comic Book.com, your eyes do not deceive you... IT'S DAMIAN WAYNE IN THE COVER TO BATMAN AND ROBIN #38. The issue, coming out this January 2015, follows the currently ongoing "Robin Rises" story arc, which sees Batman trying to retrieve his son's body from the clutches of Darkseid and his army in Apokolips. Whether this figures into the fact that Damian returns or is just a cover that teases a red herring still remains to be seen.
That cover by artist Patrick Gleason is just something else... Could Damian be just channeling Superman because he has powers now, or is it just tricking dedicated Batfans about something else? We'll find out soon enough when official information and the synopsis comes out from DC Comics.

Batman: Arkham City turns Three Years
It's hard to imagine one of the most critically acclaimed games in Batman history is already three years old... And it still has so many memorable moments that it deserves every kind of praise and nostalgic nod it gets just because it's that damn good to play and replay any chance you get.
Turning the big three this weekend, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Rocksteady Studios sophomore video game entry in Batman: Arkham City celebrates it's third year as a certified classic, as anticipation for the next game in the Batman Arkham series builds for next year's release in Batman: Arkham Knight for next generation consoles. As the sequel that dared to go beyond Arkham Asylum and into uncharted territory within Gotham City, Arkham City was the proverbial "middle ground" to explore when it came to testing Batman's ability to fight against some of his notorious enemies within the confines of a brand new institution for the criminally insane and dangerous, which was being controlled by one Dr. Hugo Strange. There's more going on behind-the-scenes however, as The Dark Knight's greatest enemy in The Joker planned to strike back at his archnemesis and achieve his greatest revenge for the current mess The Clown Prince of Crime is in after the events of Arkham Asylum.
If you own a PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, or any gaming device carrying this title, Batman: Arkham City is definitely worth playing if you're a big Batman fan and want to experience what it's like to play and be the Batman. Chalk full of action, mystery, suspense, and the kind of references that would make any Batfan giddy, it's a true testament to the Caped Crusader's legacy, and something that will please Batman: The Animated Series fans especially, as Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprise their epic roles as Batman and The Joker respectively. If you want a good Batman game to play for the character's 75th Anniversary, look no further than this.

Marvel: Armor Wars 2015 teased
Add another teaser (via Newsarama) to that growing list of teasers Marvel has for their "Big Event/s" in 2015. This time, it revisits a famous storyline from Iron Man's career in the late 1980's, and dares to name itself the new "Armor Wars" with all of the past incarnations of the armored avenger in one epic looking poster featuring an agonized looking Tony Stark right in the middle of things.
Now what does this all mean... Again, that's the big question.

Warner Bros. officially reveals DC Movies line-up
Finally... FINALLY IT HAS BEGUN.
During their shareholder meeting this Wednesday, Warner Bros has finally revealed their lineup of films from 2016 to 2020, which includes in addition to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice other films based on properties from DC Entertainment and filling in quite the long schedule of films that will finally build a DC Cinematic Universe proper.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” directed by Zack Snyder (2016)
“Suicide Squad,” directed by David Ayer (2016)
“Wonder Woman,” starring Gal Gadot (2017)
“Justice League Part One,” directed by Zack Snyder, with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reprising their roles (2017)
“The Flash,” starring Ezra Miller (2018)
“Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa (2018)
“Shazam” (2019)
“Justice League Part Two,” directed by Zack Snyder (2019)
“Cyborg,” starring Ray Fisher (2020)
“Green Lantern” (2020)
And that's pretty much a mouthful to take in. This is something that's been needed for a long time, and now that Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa are confirmed as Cyborg and Aquaman respectively, Ezra Miller taking on the role of The Flash for the movieverse, and a new Green Lantern movie in the works, things are starting to move for the DC Movies schedule.

Marvel teases "Years of Future Past" for 2015
And now we can add another tease to Marvel's BIG PLANS for 2015... And it's a revisit and rewording to a classic X-Men centered storyline and will feature the House of Ideas' merry band of mutants as the focus!
Shown in CBR and Newsarama as the latest tease in a round of posters that saw revisits to classic storylines, "Years of Future Past" sees the X-Men groups of yesteryear on the spotlight, with the classic line-up from the 70's and 80's to even Kitty Pryde in her "Kat Pryde" persona and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. If this is tieing in to the big "Marvel Super Heroes: Secret Wars" event that was announced in NYCC this year... It's going to be BIG for Marvel no doubt about it.
Stay tuned for more news as it follows.

Marvel teases "Civil War" and "Age of Ultron/ Marvel Zombies" crossovers for 2015
After announcing to the world in this past weekend's New York Comic Con that they were going to bring a new "Marvel Super Heroes: Secret Wars" crossover event in May 2015, Marvel is further upping the ante by teasing even MORE events that revisit past ones and may further establish that something big is going to go down next year, where Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters and more of the Marvel Universe's landscape changes drastically.
The teaser seen on top (via Superherohype) of course is revisiting the classic 2006-2007 comic book event called "Civil War", which was written by Mark Millar and illustrated by Steve McNiven. The event saw a "Superhero Registration Act" enacted that divided the hero community and saw Iron Man champion the pro-registration team while Captain America rebelled and fought with the anti-registration side. Spider-Man was caught in the middle, and initially sided with Iron Man until tragic events made him defect to Cap's side. Unfortunately he revealed his secret identity to the world, and lots of changes were done to the Marvel Universe when all was said and done.
How this 2015 teaser speaks about revisiting a classic, we'll just have to wait and see.
On the flip side, Marvel also released a teaser image of a "Age of Ultron/ Marvel Zombies" crossover (via CBR).
What does it all mean? Again, we will find out soon enough from the House of Ideas themselves.

Non-Spoiler Review: The Walking Dead: S05E01 - "No Sanctuary"
After months of anticipation and dreading the worst, Rick Grimes and his band of survivors return for a brand new season of facing the dangers set about by a zombie apocalypse in AMC's popular zombie drama TV Series, The Walking Dead.
Airing just this Sunday, October 12th and Monday, October 13th internationally, The 5th season begins with the premiere episode "No Sanctuary", which picks up right where the Season 4 Finale episode "A" left off with Rick and his gang still inside their container prison in Terminus and preparing to fend off their captors should they decide to open the door. Unfortunately they are taken by force, and finally see the horrors of what this "Sanctuary For All" truly has. Meanwhile, Carol, Tyreese, and Judith almost reach the site of Terminus, not knowing the dangers ahead that their friends are already facing ahead. Fortunately this coincidence and the random circumstances involving walkers intervene, giving Rick and his crew the chance they've been looking for to make their escape.
Unlike the previous season's opener, Season 5 gets the job done in a BIG WAY by giving audiences a very generous serving of action, zombies, and lots of intense moments that carefully bring things to a satisfying conclusion come the end of the episode. It's literally one of the best episodes of The Walking Dead TV Series by far, and written by none other than the current showrunner himself, Scott Gimple. No Sanctuary achieves what many past episodes in the latter half of Season 4 had in increments - good pacing and execution. You'll literally love seeing more of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) pull so much of that "Stuff and Thangs" intensity he showed in "A", and Carol (Melissa McBride) showing just how much of a badass she is. Also, Terminus is just as one would have suspected it to be if they paid attention to clues in the Season 4 finale. There's more to things though, told in small doses of a flashback segment shown in the beginning and ending of the episode, which may continue on for the rest of the season.
Overall, this is a GREAT START to TWD Season 5, and the after credits scene is just a doozy to see for longtime fans like me.
The Walking Dead Season 5 airs on AMC every Sunday, and on Fox Philippines every Monday.

NYCC '14: Gwen Stacy "Spider-Woman" to get her own ongoing series~!
The main Spider-Verse storyline hasn't officially kicked off yet, and now Spider-Man fans are getting what is possibly one of the best things to come out of it as a brand new ongoing series in the future~!!!
In a report from Newsarama that's straight out of big news from Marvel's "Retail Exclusive: Meet Marvel" panel at this year's New York Comic Con, it was just announced that the Spider-Woman incarnation of Gwen Stacy that first appeared in the pages of "Edge of Spider-Verse #2" is getting her own ongoing series~!!! The issue, which sold out faster than anyone could ever expect, features an alternate world where Ms. Stacy was the one who was bitten by a radioactive spider, setting a course for her to be the web-slinging wonder girl that assumes the "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" mission that normally falls to Peter Parker. That issue, written by Jason Latour and illustrated by Robbi Rodriguez, is going back to press for a second printing... And NOW the character is getting her own ongoing series!
Rejoice Spider-Gwen fans! The new Spiderverse character is coming to her own title very soon!

Marvel Super Heroes: Secret Wars announced for 2015
Just when you thought things couldn't get any crazier in the Marvel Universe... THIS HAPPENS.
Announced in USA Today and reported by Newsarama, the House of Ideas has revealed as part of their Marvel 75th Anniversary slideshow presentation in the New York Comic Con their plan for 2015... And it's titled Marvel Super Heroes: Secret Wars.
If the title bears any familiarity to longtime Marvel fans, it's because it harkens back to 30 years ago... When the first Secret Wars was initiated by a being known as The Beyonder, who plucked some of Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Villians and put them in a world to do battle against one another in a world called "Battleworld". The premise has been revisited in a sequel and used through other means... But this will be the first mega-crossover that involves no other characters BUT members of The Avengers and their past/ alternate counterparts (as well as Miles Morales, Ultimate Spider-Man), as depicted in this solid poster by the great artist himself, Alex Ross.
While no concrete details have been given for the storyline, it will launch in May 2015 (the same month as Avengers: Age of Ultron) and will be written by Jonathan Hickman and illustrated by Esad Ribic. Marvel Senior VP of Publishing Tom Brevoort went on to say:
""However massive you think this is, let me assure you it is bigger than that. It's by far the craziest thing I've dealt with."

Robert Downey Jr. says "Ok, Yes" to Iron Man 4 on Ellen Degeneres!
He's been coy, mum, and just about a tease on whether or not he'd be back as the armored avenger in his own solo movie flick sequel... But now it seems that talk show host Ellen DeGeneres was able to pry out a straight answer from Tony Stark/ Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. himself, as the talented Hollywood actor guested on "The Ellen Show" and was interviewed on the subject of "Iron Man 4".
And there you have it! The man said yes! Now whether he already has an idea of what the film will be or if he truly is seeking his fried Mel Gibson to direct it is anyone's guess. Right now, that's the first sign of renewed hope that RDJ has signed on for more Marvel films past his two picture deal that includes the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015 and Avengers 3 after that, so there's plenty of celebrating to be had! For more on the story, visit the source post at Superherohype!

In what may very well be a treat for Batman, Beetlejuice, and James Franco fans, the star and director himself has given this hilarious take on "The Dark Knight" while mashing it up with some of the "Ghost with the Most" after spinning the wheel in his comedy webseries "Making a Scene" and having to create a skit using the "Banana Boat" scene from Beetlejuice and the "Pencil Scene" from The Dark Knight.

Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills in first poster and trailer to "Tak3n"
They took his daughter in the first movie. Then they took him and his wife. Now, Liam Neeson returns as ex-government operative Bryan Mills to clear his name from a murder he did not commit, in the new sequel to the Taken film series with "Tak3n", or better known as Taken 3.
Via the official Facebook page of the movie, 20th Century Fox has released the first trailer and banner poster for the new film. While the former name certainly is a strange choice, it still shows that Neeson is back in his element and will be playing Mills once more. Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen return as Mills' family, while Forest Whitaker joins the cast as Franck Dotzler. Olivier Megaton returns to direct with Luc Besson once again producing.
Now, here is the first trailer to the third film where Mills employs a "particular set of skills". Taken 3 will be released in theaters on January 9, 2015.
