Jurassic World: First Trailer released online

Two days ahead of the scheduled release for Thanksgiving, Universal Pictures has released the very first trailer to the Colin Trevorrow directed new installment in the "Jurassic Park" franchise with "Jurassic World"... And it's a doozy to look at!

Jurassic World - Official Trailer (HD)

Starring Chris "Star-Lord" Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, the film takes place 22 years after Steven Spielberg's "Jurassic Park", and sees the island Isla Nubar now home to a fully functional dinosaur theme park. When interest on the attractions decline, a new kind of hybrid is developed to spark interest anew. Unfortunately, it backfires and becomes a deadly force that cannot be controlled.

Also, if you guys are fans of Spielberg's works, there's more than a throwback to the dinosaurs alone. ;)

Jurassic World opens on June 12, 2015.

The Avengers' own Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo celebrate their birthdays today!

Two of Earth's Mightiest Heroes from the big screen celebrate their birthdays today, and they happen to be the actors who portray the femme fatale spy and Green Goliath of the Avengers respectively!

Born in November 22nd, 1984, the beautiful and talented Scarlett Johansson, who portrays Black Widow, turns 30 years old, while her Avengers co-star and Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo turns 47! Both characters are set  to return alongside Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner for Avengers: Age of Ultron next year, and they will certainly be more action to come in the Marvel Studios film sequel that's once again directed by Joss Whedon!

Batman: Arkham City has a new "Calendar Man" Easter Egg discovered

Over three years have passed, and Batman: Arkham City remains one of most memorable if not THE BEST Batman game ever created. Developer Rocksteady Studios broke new ground with their 2011 sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum, and allowed players to truly immerse themselves in Batman's world as he explored and interacted with a cornered off portion of Gotham City that became the new correctional facility for the criminally insane, which was headed and overseen by the manipulative Doctor Hugo Strange.

Now, it seems that more surprises still come from this critically acclaimed title, as a fan has discovered a BRAND NEW EASTER EGG that is associated with the date and holiday obsessed villain known as Julian Day, aka the "Calendar Man". Players could visit his cell during the midst of playing Arkham City, and if timed with a corresponding holiday in the calendar, he would tell one of his "grim stories" to The Dark Knight associated with the date itself.

Behold, via the official Batman Arkham Facebook page Calendar Man's new "Secret Message", and learn how the people who found it discover that it ties to, strangely enough, Rocksteady itself!

Batman: Arkham City New Easter Egg - Calendar Man's Secret Message

Batman: Arkham City is currently available for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, and Mac OSX!

Meet the "New and Improved" Joker in the cover to Batman #37

It was only a matter of time until he showed his maniacal and ugly face once more... But the latter statement could be wrong for the most part given his "new and improved" look for his much anticipated comeback.

Since last being seen at the end of the pivotal "Death of the Family" storyline, The Joker makes his long awaited return in the pages of this December's "Batman #37", which is part of the "Endgame" storyline being done by the long running New 52 era creative force of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo.

In the cover drawn by Capullo (seen above) that debuted in HitFlix and was posted by Comic Book.com, the Clown Prince of Crime sheds off his rotting old face that he used as "a mask" and now sports a clean new face - one with a shorter hair length and with thinner red lips.

In fact, it's somewhat reminiscent of...

Yes. Joker as seen in Frank Miller's seminal 1980's classic Batman story - Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.

Nostalgic and creepy, and both ways aren't a good sign for The Dark Knight, who's taking quite the beating these days and is undergoing several changes thanks to the events of "Batman: Eternal". In fact, "Endgame" sees the Caped Crusader fighting against his fellow Justice League teammates who have been "Jokerized" for the most part.

Oh, and another variant cover channeling "The Death of Jason Todd" as drawn by Andy Kubert screams classic too.

Batman #37 will be released in comic book stores. December 10.

Rumor: Sony reportedly planning an "Aunt May" spinoff for Spider-Man film franchise

Looks like Peter Parker's favorite lady and mother figure is getting her own film, if rumors are to be believed...

According to a report from Latino-Review, an "Aunt May" film is apparently in the works, featuring May Reilly Parker -  the caring and loving aunt who along with her late husband Ben Parker raises young Peter Parker as surrogate parents following the disappearance and demise of his parents.

It is this loving presence combined with Ben's "Great Power, Great Responsibility" message that instilled Peter with the principles and strength to become a compassionate figure and hero, which is the driving force behind his alter ego as The Amazing Spider-Man.

Spinning out of The Amazing Spider-Man film franchise, the "Aunt May" film will apparently concentrate on the character's younger days, much similar to how Marvel Studios is driving down the post-WWII era with Hayley Atwell playing Steve Rogers/ Captain America's love interest from that period, Agent Peggy Carter in the upcoming "Agent Carter" TV Series. Whether this will involve Sally Field during present day sequences or not is still up in the air, but for more information on the story, visit Cinema Blend and the source post at Latino-Review.

Hopefully, it does not go for this storyline though.

Marvel Civil War fanart done "The Dark Knight Returns" style

2016 will be a very BIG year for superhero movies, as Marvel and DC will have big hitters in Captain America: Civil War and Batmam v Superman: Dawn of Justice coming out and just a few months apart from one another. The film that sees Henry Cavill's Superman going toe-to-toe with Ben Affleck's Batman is slated for March of that year, while Chris Evans' Cap and Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man will have words and be figureheads for opposing sides in the film that follows directly after Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.

Now we know fists are going to fly, and one talented artists named "Butcher Billy" took the liberty of designing fanart of The Star-Spangled Avenger duking it out with the Armored Avenger - The Dark Knight Returns style! Instead of Superman and Batman, it's Cap and Iron Man in these stellar recreations... With both switching it up and doing signature poses of Bats taking down Supes with a punch or kick.

Above is Cap (as Batman) taking down Iron Man (as Supes).

And now the opposite - Iron Man (as Bats) taking down Cap (as Supes) with a KICK.

All of this of course stems from THIS:

Lovely stuff, as seen in Comic Book.com, and you can check more of Butcher Billy's stuff as Behance!

DC Comics announces "Convergence" as April - May 2015 event

Finally, DC Comics has revealed their grand plans for this coming April 2015... And it involves not just one universe or two, but a multiverse that will converge cities that have been trapped and take from multiple worlds that are dying... And it's all through the work and machinations of the alien villain known as Brainiac.

This story is called "Convergence", and is a crossover that will run from April - May next year, which will have an eight issue main miniseries in addition to a 40 two-part weekly series. Besides Brainiac, a new villain will be introduced by the name of Telos, whose origins are still shrouded in complete mystery. Happening on the year of the 30th Anniversary of Crisis On Infinite Earths, Convergence will follow the wrap-up of the currently ongoing Future's End weekly series, starting with an issue #0 that will be written by Jeff King and Dan Jurgens, with illustrations by Green Lantern: Rebirth artist Ethan Van Sciver.

Batman Eternal will return for a new "Year 2" batch of weekly comics in 2015

The weekly series that's changing everything in Batman's world is already through its halfway mark... But that doesn't mean that it's going to end anytime soon either, as current writer and Batman scribe Scott Snyder has confirmed that Batman Eternal will return for a second year of week after week comic releases!

Confirming the news via Reddit, Snyder pointed out that more things are in store for The Dark Knight and his world with a "Year 2" for Eternal, which picks up two months after a break that follows the conclusion of the first year in March. A two month hiatus and gap will commence, which will probably pave the way for DC's big crossover event plans for 2015. What that is has yet to be announced, but more on this story can be read via the source post at Newsarama.

Even after Batman's 75th Anniversary ends this year, Batman Eternal and the new storyline "Endgame" in the pages of Batman will go on in 2015.
