Goodbye 2017... Howdy 2018! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Another year goes bye bye, and here we are preparing to welcome a brand new one!
2017 certainly was a year of constant unpredictability and change. As with past years, I challenged myself to do new cosplays, and I've had PLENTY OF THEM. One of them - Logan - was my way of paying tribute to Hugh Jackman's portrayal of one of my favorite comic book characters in the big screen, and I was alongside Mislaine who did a WONDERFUL Laura/ X-23 right beside me. That movie is my pick for "2017 Film of the Year" as well, but I digress - this year has a LOT of EPIC films that did well in their own way.
As I pushed forward, I also had the opportunity to FINALLY cosplay Ryu from the Street Fighter series - honoring my fandom and the series' 30th Anniversary this year! I also got to have some AMAZING adventures with my Spider-Verse PH family - in no small part due to the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming this year and our favorite wallcrawler's introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Then there was the big departure - leaving a team I worked with for seven years due to creative differences and the way things were running. It was arguably the best decision I have made, and I'm used to working on my own and being free to do my own thing. That still didn't stop me from dressing up like a Bat - and I FINALLY UPGRADED MY BATSUIT just in time for the Justice League Movie - joining other like minded friends and comrades who also enjoyed doing things out of passion and for the fun of it.
From ToyCon to APCC, there were exciting conventions to attend and memories to cultivate - including meeting Karen Fukuhara/ Katana from Suicide Squad and Ray Fisher/ Cyborg himself with my buddy CAZ. Then there was Geek Day 2017 too and being invited as a judge and speaker. So much to be grateful for along with fellow ambassadors Dinny Grayson, Xidge Evangelista, and FoxRots! Plus I also got to cosplay Kylo Ren. for Star Wars and take part on A Hero's Call as Green Arrow!
Bottomline - 2017 was a rollercoaster ride full of unpredictability and memorable moments. I have a lot to convey and share, but this collage will do the trick for the highlights! THANK YOU AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY! TO 2018 WE GO!

Krypton: SyFy reveals March 2018 premiere date and new preview pics
Before a certain Man of Steel came to Earth and became one of the world's greatest heroes in the DC Universe - there was his home planet and his predecessor who fought to bring order to his family and society. That will be the basis of SyFy's upcoming new show "Krypton" - which takes place two generations before Kal-El's birth and will focus on his grandfather Seg-El - as he gets an unexpected visit from the interstellar human time-traveller Adam Strange and is warned of the impending doom of his own planet. How this will play out and affect the destiny of the future "Last Son of Krypton" remains to be seen.
According to SyFy's official website, Krypton is set to premiere on March 21, 2018. Whether it ties to the DCEU or not, or is an alternate event in itself remains to be seen. The show is executively produced by David S. Goyer - who worked on Man Of Steel and Batman v Superman. Expect more to the legend when the show hits early next year.

With Justice League finishing its theatrical run and preparing to see release in home video early next year, eyes have turned to what will be included in the deleted scenes - and one particular image from Reddit (as reported by Comic Book Movie) sees Bruce Wayne/ Batman making good on his offer to Arthur Curry/ Aquaman early on the film by literally bribing him with money on information on the Mother Boxes when he comes to the King of the Seven Sea's territory. The image is likely from the "Justice League: The Art of the Film" book, which is already out in stores.

Rumor: Batman: The Telltale Series to be free for PS Plus next month
Looks like one of the best Batman games made for the modern console generation is going to make its way to PS Plus if rumors are to be believed, as GameRant and Bleeding Cool report that "Batman: The Telltale Series" is among three games that will be FREE to Playstation Plus subscribers for the month of January. The game, first released in August 2016 for the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile devices - is Telltale Games startling and critically acclaimed reimagining of DC Comics' flagship superhero and his world, with their signature "choose your own adventure" style episodic adventure giving players the choice of either embracing Bruce Wayne's crusade as a vengeful Dark Knight, or balancing both personas to chart a path that will either make him or break him. The game was followed up by a second season that began this year called "Batman: The Enemy Within" - which picks up after the end of the first game and sees Bruce and his actions from the last adventure carry over to a new one filled with new adversaries, mysteries, and threats in Gotham City.
So if this report is true, expect the beginning of 2018 to be a GREAT TIME for Playstation owners and Batman fans.

Ben Affleck speaks out on his DC Films future: "I want to direct a Batman movie"
It looks like Ben Affleck may not be quite done with his tenure with the Caped Crusader after all, putting a rest to all of those rumors that the Academy Award winning director of "Argo" and "The Town" would be stepping away from his duties as Batman of the DC Extended Universe after this year's Justice League and the rumored Flashpoint movie. In a recent interview with Daily Sabah, the Hollywood star and film director put his future as the current Dark Knight of cinema into question and that anything was possible at this point.
"I want to direct a Batman movie, and I never got a script that I was happy with, so they are starting over and writing another script. And right now, I think a lot of different possibilities I think for the way the DC Universe could go, and I will just follow my interests in pursing that. And I know that I love working with this group of people, and it was a real joy for me to make this movie."
So there it is. Ben's still itching to direct a Batman movie even after stepping away from directing duties for the first solo flick that's now gone to director Matt Reeves. Will he still be in that film or are the rumored replacements like Jake Gyllenhaal and Jon Hamm going to be considered? We can only wait and see for the future of DC Films.

It's OFFICIAL: Disney acquires 21st Century Fox; X-Men and FF are coming to the MCU
Long discussed and rumored and now FINALLY MADE OFFICIAL by the parties involved in the deal themselves, Disney has acquired key assets from 21st Century Fox - particularly their 20th Century Fox film, TV, and FX for a whopping $52.4 Billion. The deal won't include Fox's News Channel, Broadcasting, and sports channels... But this is SIGNIFICANT in the fact that the "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" rights are now more or less back with Marvel - making it possible for Marvel Studios to incorporate the mutants and first family to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
While this is certainly all good on Marvel's side, it's also great for those looking for the ORIGINAL Star Wars 1977 theatrical release, which can FINALLY be added to a future collection before the tampered and remastered editions were made. Justice League: Darkseid was cut from original ending of film according to Kevin Smith
Justice League is already three weeks "All In" in theaters, and while it has passed the $500 Million mark in the Box Office it has received mixed reviews from critics and viewers alike. This has led many to believe that Zack Snyder's original vision of the film (if not changed by WB and adding new scenes by Joss Whedon) would have featured something pretty interesting and actually expected by fans - an appearance by the big baddie from Apokalips himself, DARKSEID.
According to Kevin Smith's "Fatman on Batman" podcast - the tyrannical ruler and wielder of the Omega Sanction was supposed to appear via visions seen by a resurrected Superman who briefly turns evil because of Steppenwolf's tempting offer. Unfortunately that never came to pass in the final release, and all we get is stories of what could have been from Smith - which was reported by Newsarama and Screen Rant as well. Hopefully in the home video release we may see those things behind the scenes touched upon by Snyder and crew. Until then, it's still a long wait until this DCEU film hits Blu-Ray, Digital, and DVD.
Justice League is currently playing in theaters.

Looks like "Daddy's Lil' Monster" is going to be pretty busy in the next few years, as "Suicide Squad" star and Harley Quinn actress Margot Robbie has stated during an interview with MTV News that she is working on a standalone film featuring her alter ego - which is separate from the other DC movies she is expected to appear in that includes the "Suicide Squad sequel", "Harley Quinn vs The Joker", and "Gotham City Sirens". While there's no information or details on when these films will see updates, Miss Robbie did state that the solo Harley film is "Totally Separate" from the aforementioned DC Films, and she'll be helping in the production of that spin-off via her own production studio LuckyChap Entertainment.
"I've been working on a separate spin-off for Harley for a while now," said the Harley Quinn actress "I want to see her with other women. I kept saying it while we were filming Suicide Squad. I was like, 'She needs her girlfriends.'"

UPDATE: Following the release of the banner poster, a new theatrical poster and other promo materials have inserted Supes with the rest of the league in similar fashion! Check the rest out at Comic Book Movie.
Have you caught Justice League yet? If you haven't, YOU SHOULD (and here's my review why) as the film is a direct sequel to Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. While not perfect it delivers the HOPE we can have good DC Films in the future moving forward... And we FINALLY HAVE DC's greatest heroes in the big screen at last!
Justice League is now playing in theaters worldwide.

The Death of Superman: 25 Years Later and beyond
As Justice League finally plays in theaters - comic book fans will remember this particular time of November about 25 years ago as a sad and unprecedented moment in comic book history - DC Comics killing off one of their flagship characters in the Man of Steel himself - Superman. As the final issue of the eponymous storyline of the same name that ran through the four Superman titles at the time - Action Comics, Adventures of Superman, Superman: The Man of Steel, and Superman - "Superman #75" saw the Justice League of America dealing with an unstoppable monstrous beast named "Doomsday" who all but crushed every single member of the superhero team. It was left up to Superman himself to try and stop the alien creature once and for all - culminating in a showdown that saw both combatants deliver death blows to one another and the Last Son of Krypton dying in the arms of the love of his life, Lois Lane.
As a storyline, The Death of Superman sent shockwaves across the comic industry - particularly to fans of the Man of Steel over how one of the world's greatest heroes could perish and what the fallout would be in the DC Universe following his death. The Superman titles would continue and show this aftermath with "Funeral for a Friend", followed by four mysterious Supermen appearing and claiming to be the hero in "Reign of the Supermen". Finally, the one true Clark Kent/ Kal-El/ Superman did return at the end of the latter storyline - and the entire saga was collected years later and titled as "The Death and Return of Superman".
As an iconic yet sad moment in DC history, The Death of Superman was adapted into a DC Animated Movie feature and was eventually used as the final act in 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" - where Henry Cavill's Man of Steel ultimately gave his life to stop Lex Luthor's Doomsday creation. This act would inspire Ben Affleck's Batman and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman to go and find other metahumans to form the "Justice League". How does Superman come back in the DC Extended Universe? That's for you to find out in cinemas!
Also, there's Doomsday Clock happening this week, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Supes' death and it just so happens that the Man of Steel figures in this "Watchmen" themed event and it has the word of his killer in the title. How that plays out? We shall see when the story begins on November 22nd.
