TDKR Update: Empire and Christopher Nolan reveal details about The Dark Knight Rises!
On the latest edition of Empire magazine, Christopher Nolan has revealed some MAJOR details about his and Warner Bros.' next and final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises! Numerous sites, including Batman-News and Superherohype, have gone on to post details and pictures from said issue, and SPOILERS may follow along with the accompanying article, so read at your own risk!
To put it briefly, in the interview Nolan reveals that The Dark Knight Rises takes place 8 YEARS after the events of "The Dark Knight", and Christian Bale plays an older Bruce Wayne, who's soon challenged and put to the test physically and mentally by his new foe Bane, who's played by Tom Hardy. The actor goes on to say that Bane is a "brutal" and "clinical" villain who's not in it for fighting, but for carnage. More info then pops up about the villain's origins, and why he wears the mask. Costume designer Lindy Hemming points out that Bane is injured early on in the film, and the headpiece feeds him gas from his back into his jawline that he needs to survive.
That was quite a detailed explanation of what's going to happen next in the final Nolan Batman film... But I'm actually quite excited now! The director even goes out to point that the 6-7 minute prologue attached in IMAX screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is actually the introduction to the film, giving us a taste of Bane and things to come for one of 2012's most anticipated superhero films! For more on the story and the rest of the details, you can read it up at the source post at SHH and Batman-News!
The Dark Knight Rises shines on theaters worldwide on July 20, 2012!
