Marvel Movies: New promotional art look at the new Cap suit in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"
Months ago, the internet released promotional images and artwork for Marvel Studios' next Cap adventure for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", which together with "Guardians of the Galaxy" makes up the 2014 line-up of Marvel Movies of "Phase 2" of their Marvel Cinematic Universe. A promo art pic was released of Cap wearing what looked like an amalgamation of his "Avengers" uniform and the comic book "Heroic Age" outfit of Commander/ Captain Steve Rogers... And clearly that's going to be the new suit Chris Evans will wear when he dons the stars and stripes once more for the sequel.
Via the Marvel Cinematic Universe Facebook page, here's the new promo artwork circling around the net and comic book related news sites, with this one standing proud and tall in the "Commander" suit with Avengers inspired mask and trademark Cap shield in tow.
Now here's a pic from Steve Rogers' time wearing the Super Soldier uniform during the "Heroic Age" in Marvel Comics (circa 2010-2011), which he donned when he allowed his World War II partner and friend Bucky Barnes to continue on with his tenure as the new Captain America. Following the events of "fear itself" which supposedly saw Bucky killed, Steve donned the mantle of Captain America once more, and has remained in his original role since.
With filming currently ongoing and loads of set photos and videos going online, it still hasn't been made clear how this new uniform will set into the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but it's a safe bet that now that Steve's working with S.H.I.E.L.D, the upgrade and new look reflects his status and rank within the organization outside from being part of the "Avengers Initiative". Captain America: The Winter Soldier marches into theaters next year on April 4, 2014.
