Batman Vs Superman: Denzel Washington being rumored for the role of Green Lantern John Stewart
With plenty of rumors abuzz suggesting that other heroes and villains may appear in the upcoming superhero film, the one lingering and interesting theory was that Academy Award Winning actor Denzel Washington would be up for a role in the film, and early reports suggested he'd be an African-American version of Superman's eternal arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor.
That doesn't seem to be the case now however, as a new scoop according to Nuke The Fridge and posted by Screen Rant suggests that Mr. Washington may not play a villain, but rather a hero... And that's Green Lantern John Stewart!

Flashback Friday: Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman and "Chase Me"
With this being the FINAL Flashback Friday and following the commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm", it's time to delve a little bit further back to Batman lore and celebrate another animated Bat-film and it's accompanying short's 10th Anniversary.
Released in October 21, 2003, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman was one of the final animated films released that was set on the DC Animated Universe and set on the same timeline as Batman: The Animated Series/ The New Batman Adventures. The film introduced viewers to a new "Batwoman", one heavily inspired in design by the costume worn by the Batman of The Future himself, Terry McGiness, aka Batman Beyond.
"Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman" (2003) Trailer
As the title notes, the identity of this Batwoman remains a mystery... Even to the deductive and brilliant mind of Batman himself. Wearing the symbol of the Bat, this Batwoman operates on a more ruthless scale, and takes down criminals and mob bosses like Penguin and Rupert Thorne without any moral restrictions like The Dark Knight and his allies practice. Ultimately, the plot thickens as Bane arrives, and the "identity" of the Batwoman is found to be quite the surprise.
Following the success of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, a film set on the timeline of The New Batman Adventures was inevitable, and Mystery of the Batwoman does not fail to entertain and does a good job of showing how intrinsic and elaborate Batman's universe can be. The Batwoman mystery was a good way of introducing a version of the character to the DC Univcrse, not to mention tying things in to Batman Beyond in a certain degree. In fact, some years later would see DC Comics adapting that approach and bring a regular Batwoman with a "Batman Beyond" inspired design to regular DC Continuity, with Kate Kane becoming the modern AND New 52 version of Batwoman to date.
Aside from the main feature of this direct to DVD release, Mystery of the Batwoman also included a short silent film featurette called "Chase Me", which saw The Dark Knight going after his on-and-off love interest Catwoman in, as you'd expect, a grand chase. The jazzy and excellent musical score just punctuates the feeling of this great showcase right here.
Catwoman: Chase Me
So there you have it... Happy 10th Anniversary to Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman and Chase Me!
Next year, 75 years of Batman celebrated!

Throwback Thursday: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Exactly twenty years ago, Warner Bros., DC Comics, and legendary Batman: The Animated Series creator Bruce Timm delivered quite the Christmas present to loyal Batfans on Christmas Day, as the very first full-length Batman animated feature was released in theaters and brought a new unique and original vision to The Dark Knight in cinema.
That movie was Batman: Mask of The Phantasm, released on December 25, 1993.
Heavily inspired by the classic Batman origin story "Batman: Year One" but spinning into an original tale of its own, Mask of the Phantasm saw the Caped Crusader taking on a mysterious new for called "The Phantasm", who left a trail of death on its path by slaying some old and retired mob bosses of Gotham City. Falsely accused of the murders, Batman relentlessly pursues this new criminal, but his mission is complicated by the return of a lost love, as well as the lingering presence of his eternal arch-nemesis, The Joker. In order to solve this case, The Dark Knight must piece together clues from his past and the present, and see whether he can rekindle an old romance at the same time...
Literally a blast from the past and perfect for Throwback Thursday this Christmas week, Mask of the Phantasm is literally one, if not THE BEST Batman animated film that has appeared in the Caped Crusader's long and thriving history. Featuring the immortal voices of Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark "Luke Skywalker" Hamill as The Joker, this animated film opened doors and showed the potential of the then young and thriving DC Animated Universe, and helped keep the Batman hype and interest alive following the previous year's live-action release of Tim Burton's Batman film sequel, Batman Returns. The animation was luscious, and the OST was simply memorable and breathtaking, especially with music artist Tia Carrere's ending theme for the film, "I Never Even Told You".
Happy Twenty Years, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm... And prepare for Batman's 75th Anniversary next year!

Gotham TV Series casting a 10-Year Old Bruce Wayne as regular character
It may not have Batman and will focus on his ally James Gordon, but the next DC Comics based TV Show known aptly as "Gotham" will feature Bruce Wayne... A 10-Year Old one at that.
Announced by Fox and Warner Bros. Television, a casting call has been put out for a 10-Year Old to play the orphaned heir to the Wayne fortune and future Batman. The role is rumored to be primed for a "series regular" position, so it's likely young Bruce's presence will play a pivotal role in main character James Gordon's rise in the ranks of the Gotham City Police Department. The series primarily focuses on "Gordon and the criminals that made Gotham City famous", so it's possible this will shape Wayne's determination even further to become the city's Dark Knight defender.
A shooting date for the pilot episode has also been reportedly announced for March 2014, with Bruno Heller acting as showrunner and executive producer for the show. For more information, visit the source post at ComicBook.com and TVShowAuditions.info.
No release date has been given for "Gotham" yet, but expect it to be sometime next year hopefully.

Batman Vs Superman: Gal Gadot is officially your new Wonder Woman/ Diana Prince, and why it could work
The news has broken out courtesy of Warner Bros. and it's very much official: The Fast and The Furious franchise's own Gal Gadot has been cast as Wonder Woman/ Diana Prince in director Zack Snyder's as of yet untitled "Batman Vs Superman" film which acts as a sequel to this year's Man Of Steel! Batman Vs Superman: Ben Affleck calls Daredevil a regret, and won't compare his Batman to Christian Bale's
Many were surprised a few months ago by the announcement that Argo director and actor Ben Affleck had been cast as the new Batman/ Bruce Wayne for Zack Snyder's as of yet untitled "Batman Vs Superman" film that acts as a sequel to this year's Man Of Steel, and a wave of mixed emotion still reverberates around the interwebz over the news.
However, the actor has responded to those reactions, following an interview with Playboy Magazine, which was featured in Latino Review and posted in Slash Film:
"I understand I’m at a disadvantage with the internet. If I thought the result would be another Daredevil, I’d be out there picketing myself. [laughs] Why would I make the movie if I didn’t think it was going to be good and that I can be good in it?"
Speaking on Daredevil, the actor went on to say it was the "Biggest Regret of his career".
"The only movie I actually regret is Daredevil. It just kills me. I love that story, that character, and the fact that it got fucked up the way it did stays with me. Maybe that’s part of the motivation to do Batman."
And while pre-production has begun for the 2015 film, there has yet to be any official stills or footage showing Ben in the Batsuit, or his persona as Billionaire Bruce Wayne. Affleck went on to assure that playing the new Batman is to "redefine him", and "will not compete with the Bale and Chris Nolan Batman but still exists in the Batman canon". This collaborates with rumors that the Batman Affleck will be play will wear a "Black and Grey" color scheme like the comics, and will be a "40 year old plus" hero who encounters Henry Cavill's Superman.
For more on the story, visit the source post at Slash Film.
"Batman Vs Superman is slated for a July 17, 2015 release.

Remembering Paul Walker...
Unfortunate news has hit for fans of the Fast & Furious franchise, as lead protagonist and Brian O'Conner actor Paul Walker has tragically passed away according to reports from TMZ and various news sites, including his personal Facebook fanpage.
It's really sad news to bear, especially since Walker was in the midst of a charity event for his organization "Reach Out Worldwide" when he died, which was aimed at providing relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines.
Update: Vin Diesel, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and other Fast & Furious co-stars react to Walker's passing via Comic Book.com.
One of the last bits of footage when he was still among us was posted by TMZ, when he was in LAX.
And several tributes like this one from Latinusnews HD have since surfaced.
The Fast & Furious franchise will certainly be different without O'Conner around, and filming for the next film, Fast & Furious 7, is in post-production, which will be his final appearance in the franchise. It's unknown how this affects the film's development, but that's beside the point, as a star in Hollywood has passed on. We can only hope he's in a better place now.
R.I.P Paul Walker, and thanks for entertaining us with your talent and acting.

Now, it appears that talk will generate anew, as what seemingly is a new banner poster for the movie has appeared in Twitter, and it shows off not only Jamie Foxx's Electro, but two other villains as well.
Potential SPOILERS follow after the jump, so view accordingly.

Batman: Arkham Origins: "Initiation" DLC teased at DC All Access
Over a month since its release in video game consoles and platforms, WB Games epic looking prequel entry to the Batman Arkham franchise, Batman: Arkham Origins, has served up an interesting look at what transpired in a younger Dark Knight's career prior to the events of the two classic Rocksteady Stuidos games, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Developed by WB Games Montreal, Origins looks at the more inexperienced Batman facing overwhelming numbers of criminals and assassins on Christmas Eve, with the villain Black Mask putting a hefty bounty on the Caped Crusader's head for good measure.
Now that the game is out, people are looking towards what's to come next, and sure enough, and whole slew of DLC is coming to add some extra content and depth. While many out right now are additional challenge maps, costumes, and items (not to mention the Deathstroke pack), a new DLC exclusive sub-adventure was promised some time ago, and now is being teased at this week's DLC All Access. Entitled "Initiation", "the prequel to the prequel" story sees Bruce Wayne who has yet to don the Cape and Cowl, and is undergoing training in a monastery deep within the Himalayas, fighting ninjas and learning vital tricks that'll be important to his mission... which is a nod to the comics itself and the first film of The Dark Knight Trilogy, Batman Begins.
