Taika Waititi is directing a new Star Wars film; Leslye Headland developing a new Star Wars series for Disney+
It's big news day for Star Wars fans this "May The 4th", as the official Star Wars website has announced that Academy Award winning director Taiki Waititi, best known for "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Jojo Rabbit", will be directing a new Star Wars feature film that's set for a theatrical release. Waititi, who directed the season finale of "The Mandalorian" during its first season, will be accompanied by Krysty Wilson-Cairns in writing the screenplay for the feature - which is still in early works and no clues as to what the plot is.
Additionally, Leslye Headland of Russian Doll fame is developing a new and untitled Star Wars series for Disney+! The streaming platform just debuted the final episode of the final season of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", and is also streaming "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" along with the entire Skywalker Saga.
Great news from StarWars.com indeed! May The Fourth Be With You, Always!
