Rurouni Kenshin “The Final” and “The Beginning” theatrical poster released

Released today via the official Japanese Twitter account of the films, here is a look at the theatrical poster to the upcoming double live-action Rurouni Kenshin movies hitting later this year - aptly called “Rurouni Kenshin: The Final” and “Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning”. Once again starring Takeru Satoh as series lead Himura Kenshin and both films directed again by Keishi Otomo, the films would adapt the “Jinchu” and “Remembrance/ Tenchu” respectively - following Kenshin and his friends dealing with the vengeance of Enishi, played by Mackenyu, and then detailing Kenshin’s early days as Hitokiri Battousai and meeting his first wife Tomoe, who will be played by Junko Iwao.

Happy Birthday to Takeru Satoh! Rurouni Kenshin and Kamen Rider Den-O star turns 31 this year

It's hard to believe that it's been over a decade since we got to know Takeru Satoh - who burst into the Tokusatsu world scene with his starring role as Ryotaro Nogami in the "Kamen Rider Den-O" series. His popularity would only skyrocket even further when he was cast as Kenshin Himura in the live-action "Rurouni Kenshin" films, and after playing the role for three installments - one released in 2012 and two in 2014, he's back to play the slasher turned wandering swordsman in two brand new films once again directed by Keishi Otomo this year in "Rurouni Kenshin: The Final" and "Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning".

Today, March 21st, marks Satoh's 31st birthday celebration. The Rurouni Kenshin Movie Facebook page has posted a cool Behind The Scenes picture featuring the actor in Kenshin attire but wearing a robe while not filming and being followed by an assistant taking care of his wig. Also, the actor has launched a YouTube channel, with his first video being a live discussion and also talking about how long it took to film the new RK films. Also, it's in Japanese so be advised before watching! You can also visit Takeru Satoh's official website here.
