When the movie comes out this September, it will all come down to this...

Released via the Rurouni Kenshin Facebook page, a new theatrical poster for the next and presumably final Rurouni Kenshin film "Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends" has been released online. Continuing the live action adaptation of the "Kyoto Arc" storyline, the movie follows after this month's Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno (see review here), and will finally see the clash between Himura Kenshin and Makoto Shishio, which will determine the fate of Japan and everyone in the Meiji Era altogether.

Also released was a new theatrical trailer teasing the events to come in the film, c/o WB PhilTrailers YouTube page.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends Teaser Poster released

Revealed by Warner Bros. PH in their official Facebook page and just in time for Kenshin Manila fever with the release of "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" this week (see my review for that film here at my Review blog site), the very first teaser poster for  "Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends" is now online!

『Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno / The Legend Ends』 Trailer

As the second part of a storyline that adapts the "Kyoto Arc" saga from Nobuhiro Watsuki's epic Rurouni Kenshin series (know as Samurai X to wester audiences), this film comes a month after Kyoto Inferno, so be prepared to see it in theaters this September!

Of course, it's a SPOILER to tell why Kenshin is unconscious and who's the man standing in front of him in the one sheet, so you'll have to see the movie for yourselves as it's now showing in cinemas!

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno is no showing in Philippine cinemas, while Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends will open on September 24!

Rurouni Kenshin: First picture of Takeru Satoh back as Kenshin for RK sequel

After being released in theaters last year to critical acclaim, the live-action adaptation of Nobuhiko Watsuki's epic samurai Manga/ Anime Rurouni Kenshin is getting not one, but TWO sequels next year, and will see Takeru Satoh returning as the wandering samurai turned protector.

Known as "Samurai X" to western and international audiences, the new movies won't be out until the beginning of summer 2014. However, the first screenshot from the second film has finally come online, and courtesy of the RK (Samurai X) Facebook page and the Takeru Satoh blog!

It's Himura Kenshin walking inside the Kamiya Dojo. Is he expecting a fight to happen, or is something else going on? For sure, there's more action to be had now that a certain enemy of his to inherit the title of "Hitokiri Battousai" after his retirement is coming.

With Tatsuya Fujiwara of "Death Note" fame cast as "Shishio Makoto", the new sequels will be entitled "Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc" and "Rurouni Kenshin: The End of a Legend Arc". Many Kenshin fans got a taste of what a live action version of their favorite Rurouni warrior could do... And it'll definitely be more intense come the new films next year.

No official release date has been given for the sequels, but expect Rurouni Kenshin to blast into Japanese theaters first in Summer 2014, then get released internationally soon afterward.

Rurouni Kenshin/ Samurai X Live Action Film Confirmed!

Recently reported by Sankaku Complex and Anime News Network, it appears that Nobuhiro Watsuki's epic Manga/ Anime series Rurouni Kenshin (aka Samurai X in the US) is FINALLY getting the live action movie treatment in Japan! To be directed by Otomo Keishi, the film will also be produced and distributed by Warner Bros. Japan, and for an epic series like this, proper detail and attention like this should be rightfully given!

Kamen Rider-Den-O Opening

Cast in the titular role is Takeru Satoh, a familiar face to those who hop the Japanese live-action/ toksatsu series scene, as he's better known as Nogami Ryotaro from Kamen Rider Den-O! Above is the intro to the series, and below is a clip of him in character as Ryotaro. Take a look at it and see why I think he's a great casting choice for the role of Kenshin Himura!

Takeru Satoh as Nogami Ryotarou in Kamen Rider Den-O

He'll act like "Oro" Kenshin perfectly alright! In the article posted by ANN, the 22 year old Satoh even expresses his amusement over getting the role, being a fan of the series since elementary school and stating that it the manga "his generation grew up with". He's currently undergoing intensive sword training this month, and production for the film is slated to start this July, with a release date sometime in 2012. Can't wait for more news on this, and word is that this may even spawn into a film franchise! For more info, visit the source posts at Sankaku Complex or Anime News Network!

Rurouni Kenshin/ Samurai X is making a comeback with a new Anime!

As reported in Anime News Network, The June issue of Japan's Shueisha Jump Square magazine announced that a new anime project based on Nobuhiro Watsuki's Rurouni Kenshin has been given the go signal for development!

Rurouni Kenshin/ Samurai X Intro 1

First developed as a manga that ran from 1994-1999 and then making the jump to TV as an anime series that debuted in January 1996, Rurouni Kenshin, or Samurai X as it is known in the west, is a popular series that focuses on a wandering swordsman named Kenshin Himura, who gives up his life as an assassin to live a peaceful life and protect the innocent at the same time. Over the course of the series, Kenshin befriends and makes up a new surrogate family, while contending with numerous problems and adversaries that stem from his past life, forcing him to act and take a stand in order to ensure peace is maintained.

Well over a decade has passed since the series ended its run, but fans continue to revel on the numerous publications and media the series has spawned, including a new PSP game released a month ago that celebrates the TV series 15th anniversary. With the new project announced, here's looking forward to a new OVA and/ or anime series that'll capture the spirit once more, and bring us more action with Kenshin, Sano, and the gang!
