Hasbro Unveils “Marvel Vs Capcom” War Machine Marvel Legends Figure

For those who played the first two Marvel Vs Capcom games and remember playing the character of War Machine, Capcom reused the sprite of Iron Man from Marvel Superheroes - giving a color scheme similar to James Rhodes armor as well as adding a few new moves like the super move “War Destroyer” to his arsenal of attacks. This version is well remembered by fans of the fighting game series, and it comes as no surprise that Hasbro Pulse is releasing a recolor of their Modular Armor Iron Man - featuring that War Machine color scheme and red energy props that collectors can use to recreate those iconic poses from the games.

This is the third MvC War Machine action figure that comes after ToyBiz released a 5” action figure and a Face-Off Marvel Legends figure that was a variant in a two-pack alongside The Mandarin.

As revealed by Screen Rant, the new figure will retail for $24.99 and will be released some time in February 2023. Unfortunately there is no Proton Cannon or War Destroyer prop, so you’ll have a regular basic Modular Armor repaint in Rhodey style colors.

Hasbro Pulse Con 2022 Officially Reveals Retro Iron Man Inspired by 90’s Animated Series and Marvel Vs Capcom

Prepare to go retro and back to the 1990’s if you were a Marvel Comics fan who enjoyed the Marvel Action Hour and Marvel Vs Capcom series of fighting games, as Hasbro grants Marvel Legends fans “Superior Tech!” and unveils their upcoming “Retro Iron Man” 6” action figure during this weekend’s Hasbro Pulse Con streaming event!

Mainly inspired by the 1994 Iron Man animated series and reusing the mold of the already released “Modular Armor” Mark 13 Iron Man that was part of the Ursa Major wave, this figure will come with the retro package known to Retro ML collectors, with two alternate heads for Iron Man that include a slit/ open mouth head as seen in the first season of the show, a mullet Tony Stark head, a brighter red and yellow color scheme, alternate hands and accessories, and the best accessory yet - a Plasma Cannon aka the Proton Cannon as seen first in Capcom’s Marvel Super Heroes and the Marvel vs Capcom games!

Definitely this is something to eye on for Marvel Legends fans! Check out more pics and details at Hasbro Pulse’s Facebook page!

Remembering the Marvel Vs Capcom series!

With February 15 just a few days away, the hype for Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds is getting bigger and bigger! While some lucky guys out there have managed to play and/ or get the game ahead and delivered some mixed opinions online, I'm still looking forward to this newest crossover title between Marvel and Capcom, which took more than a decade to get made! Heck, you can't blame the excitement all us fans have over this game, and you can bet your butts that people are feeling nostalgic right now and remembering the good ol' days of this fighting game franchise's history!

In light of this anticipated release, video game news site GamesRadar made this pretty slick history video of the Marvel Vs Capcom series, hosted by Capcom's own Seth Killian! You can check out the article and the video in the link here, and it just makes me all the more nostalgic about the old games and excited for the new entry to come!

As a tribute and remembrance to the series influence, here are the intros of each and every Marvel Vs Capcom Versus Series game produced! Enjoy old school and remember the good ol' days!

Comics and Games Collide!

Two of THE BEST in stealth and combat side by side. This image practically made my day!

As seen in a link in Kotaku, The Examiner has posted up four images of comic book heroes and video game characters together, as illustrated by artist David Stonecipher. They're nicely done pieces, and my favorite happens to be the one you see above - Solid Snake and Batman prowling the night and looking to beat trouble senseless. Comic vs Video Game personalities isn't exactly a new trend, and it's making a comeback with the return of the Marvel Vs Capcom series next year, but it's fun to imagine who else can tussle and team up together from those two different worlds. You can check out more mix ups at this link, or just enjoy imagining who wins the Hulk Vs Donkey Kong battle here:

Preparing To Be Captivated By Capcom!

Last week, Capcom held it's annual Captivate 2010 event on Hawaii, and tons and several news bits, previews, and announcements were on site for the attending game journalists and writers fortunate to be there. Gaming news site Kotaku happened to be one of the attendees, and tomorrow, the embargo is about to lifted, and players will be treated to the juicy details previously withheld by tomorrow, along with some news from Bungie news for the Halo fans as well. Check up on Kotaku for more updates as they come.

Among all the announcements I expect to hear, I sincerely hope that THIS is one of them.

One of the widely circulated rumors abound is the long awaited announcement of a VS game sequel everyone has been dying to see come to pass - MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3. Several fighting game sites have related posts that supply some info to the speculation, but it wasn't until PlanetXbox360 posted this report that everything is all but confirmed that the game will be made. As a fighter, I have witnessed the evolution of the franchise since day one with X-men Vs Street Fighter, all the way to the grand battle royale title that is Marvel Vs Capcom 2, which is arguably the best Versus series game to this day. To see Capcom and Marvel team up again and bring us another one of their classic crossover installments is a fanboy's wet dream come true, and I can't wait to get a glimpse of images, or heck a trailer perhaps, of the game once an official announcements been made. Think of all the new possibilities - new gameplay tweaks, graphics, and most importantly, new characters joining the fray! Imagine Street Fighter IV Characters or Devil May Cry's Dante duking it with the New Avengers or Astonishing X-men! We'll just have to wait until official word comes in, but here's hoping to a new NEW age of heroes, and make mine Capcom!
