First rumored and long talked about for years as a potential Star Wars spin-off film, it looks like the idea of Ewan McGregor's return as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi will FINALLY happen - as Variety reports that McGregor is in talks to reprise his famous role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy in a brand third Star Wars series being developed for Disney's upcoming streaming service, Disney Plus.
Originally, the plan/ rumor was for McGregor to reprise his role as Kenobi in a standalone Star Wars spin-off film in the same vein as "Rogue One" and "Solo". Unfortunately the unsuccessful roll out of the latter film in May last year shelved those ideas, and now it looks like Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker's mentor will be back in this as of yet untitled third Star Wars series - which will be joining Jon Favreau's "The Mandalorian" starring Pedro Pascal, and another show focusing on Diego Luna's "Rogue One" character Cassian Andor.
Look out for more updates on McGregor's return as Obi-Wan soon from Disney as they prepare to hype up Disney Plus - which also includes new Marvel shows like "WandaVision" and "Loki".
