Seemingly coming out of nowhere or probably being announced unexpectedly, a brand new Resident Evil CG animated series (initially thought to be a movie) has been revealed and is coming to Netflix next year -- and it's called "Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness" (aka "Biohazard: Infinite Darkness" in Japan")
(UPDATE 10:10PM) Initially posted by Netflix Portugal on Twitter ahead of schedule, the film was officially announced at Capcom's "Capcom TGS Live 2020" panel, with Hiroyuki Kobayashi making the announcement and returning as the film's producer. The teaser features the return and reunion of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, and will be the third time these Resident Evil 2 heroes reunite and will be the second CG animated RE film they'll headline after 2009's "Resident Evil: Degeneration".
While no story details have been revealed, it looks like both will be caught up in another mystery involving abandoned houses, biological conspiracies, mysterious individuals, and of course zombies.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will be hitting Netflix sometime in 2021.
