Fans of DC's Green Lantern and its mythos are going to be pleased with the big news that arrived this weekend, as Variety reports that HBO's streaming service HBO Max has given literally give the green light to "Green Lantern" - with a 10-episode series order made for the emerald powered show.
After being announced in development last year, the series is actually going to explore and highlight the different members of the saga and the GL Corps - including the first Green Lantern Alan Scott, the hot-headed Guy Gardner, new Green Lanterns Jessica Cuz and Simon Baz, the drill sergeant Kilowog, and the former "Greatest Green Lantern" himself turned eventual Yellow Lantern, Sinestro. Nothing was mentioned yet on mainline fan favorites like Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, and John Stewart, but we can be hopeful they'll all be there and it'll be a balanced focus for all these characters.
While no release date has been given for "Green Lantern", the series will be co-written and executive produced by Seth Grahame-Smith and Marc Guggenheim, with Berlanti Productions to produce alongside Warner Bros. Television.
