Green Lantern John Stewart fan-film "Power" teaser looks LEGIT

Many are hoping it's one of the other Green Lanterns besides Hal Jordan, and fingers are being crossed that it will be the African-American Emerald Warrior seen in the DC Animated Universe's Justice League and Justice League Unlimited shows -John Stewart.

Warner Bros. officially reveals DC Movies line-up

Finally... FINALLY IT HAS BEGUN.

During their shareholder meeting this Wednesday, Warner Bros has finally revealed their lineup of films from 2016 to 2020, which includes in addition to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice other films based on properties from DC Entertainment and filling in quite the long schedule of films that will finally build a DC Cinematic Universe proper.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” directed by Zack Snyder (2016)
“Suicide Squad,” directed by David Ayer (2016)
“Wonder Woman,” starring Gal Gadot (2017)
“Justice League Part One,” directed by Zack Snyder, with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reprising their roles (2017)

“Shazam” (2019)
“Justice League Part Two,” directed by Zack Snyder (2019)
“Cyborg,” starring Ray Fisher (2020)

And that's pretty much a mouthful to take in. This is something that's been needed for a long time, and now that Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa are confirmed as Cyborg and Aquaman respectively, Ezra Miller taking on the role of The Flash for the movieverse, and a new Green Lantern movie in the works, things are starting to move for the DC Movies schedule.

DC The New 52: Green Lantern and New Gods "Godhead" event slated for October

It looks like there'll be no rest for the books involved in the Green Lantern universe, as not only do October solicitations for DC Comics reveal a new event is coming, but it will also involve the powerful New Gods and their almighty leader Highfather, who plan to tap into the emotional spectrum one way or another to take out Darkseid.

How this will affect the entire DC Universe in The New 52 is anyone's guess, but consequential is a start for sure!

Godhead begins with New Gods: Godhead #1 and spans the rest of the GL related titles this October. For more info on the solicits, see the source post at Comic Book.com.

Arrow: Ferris Air teaser poster posted

With five episodes left for the second season to wrap up, the producers and showrunners behind the smash-hit superhero TV Series "Arrow" have decided to tease things up that may possibly appear further down the line... And it's a reference to a certain "Emerald Warrior" of the DC Universe that may follow in the footsteps of The Scarlet Speedster who made his debut in the show as well.

The teaser, courtesy of Marc Guggenheim's official Twitter page, is all about "Ferris Air", the airline owned by the family of Carol Ferris, aka Star Sapphire and the love interest of the one and only Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern! Ferris Air of course is based in Coast City, and one has to wonder of Stephen Amell's Oliver Queen and his crew of "Team Arrow" will visit the place...

Arrow is currently airing in The CW every Wednesdays.

DC Comics: Sinestro gets his own New 52 ongoing this April

Those who've been steadily following Green Lantern and its comics during and after the Geoff Johns era may want to pay attention to the latest news from DC Comics, as a prominent face from the mythos is getting his own very own ongoing series come April, just around the time the big DC Comics New 52 event "Forever Evil" ends.

That's right... THAAL SINESTRO is coming back in his own ongoing comic book series, appropriately titled "Sinestro" and beginning this coming April. Written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Dale Eaglesham, the new book sees the former Green Lantern and Yellow Lantern in a hard and desperate setting, possibly reinforced by whatever happens in the conclusion of Forever Evil. After Geoff Johns run saw him lose everything he holds dear, Sinestro's only left with the one thing that's driven him since he began his mission: Fear. Joining him in the book will be his one time ally/ enemy Lyssa Drak, and one has to wonder where everything leads to in the entire setting of the Emotional Spectrum and DC Universe. For more information, visit the source post at Newsarama and DC's official Green Lantern Facebook page.

SINESTRO begins on April this year!

Batman Vs Superman: Denzel Washington being rumored for the role of Green Lantern John Stewart

Now this can be taken with a BIG Grain of Salt since this is a rumor... But it's pretty interesting to say the least for a casting choice on Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's upcoming Man Of Steel sequel for 2015, the yet untitled "Batman Vs Superman" movie that now has Wonder Woman in it!

With plenty of rumors abuzz suggesting that other heroes and villains may appear in the upcoming superhero film, the one lingering and interesting theory was that Academy Award Winning actor Denzel Washington would be up for a role in the film, and early reports suggested he'd be an African-American version of Superman's eternal arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor.

That doesn't seem to be the case now however, as a new scoop according to Nuke The Fridge and posted by Screen Rant suggests that Mr. Washington may not play a villain, but rather a hero... And that's Green Lantern John Stewart!

Fanmade: Idris Elba as Green Lantern John Stewart

This is a fanmade poster mock-up that caught eyes and was featured in DC Cinematic Universe's Facebook Page. Given the fact that Ryan Reynolds played Hal Jordan and Mark Strong as Sinestro in the 2011 live action Green Lantern film, one can only wonder what could have been if there was an actual follow-up/ sequel that improved on the first's flaws and mistakes.

This would probably be one of them... The pitch is sound, and it actually works!

Yes... Idris Elba, aka Heimdall in Thor and Major Stacker Pentecost in Pacific Rim... AS JOHN STEWART.

Fanmade... BUT AWESOME... And if it were true... BEWARE HIS POWER, FOR TONIGHT HE WOULD BE CANCELLING THE APOCALYPSE, BLACKEST NIGHT WISE.

Visit DC Cinematic Universe for more treats like these!

Stay tuned as more information becomes available from DC Comics or the source posts at Bleeding Cool and Newsarama.
