Revealed just in time for the 25th Anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise, director Johannes Roberts has given us the official title for his Resident Evil movie reboot - and it's called "Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City"!
In an interview with IGN during the SXSW online event, Roberts discussed the movie and revealed the title - an obvious homage and reference to the signage and setting of the original games. The new RE movie will adapt the first two games in the series, and is set primarily in 1998 and will be more faithful to the source material this time around. Fan favorite characters Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, and Leon S. Kennedy are in this, as well as series baddies Albert Wesker and Dr. William Birkin.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will be released in theaters on September 3 in the US.
