One of the best DC Multiverse stories and fighting game franchises in recent memory is being adapted into an animated film, as IGN reports that Injustice: Gods Among Us is getting the DC Universe Movie treatment - which will tell the tale of an alternate universe where a tyrannical Superman rules Earth with a regime and is opposed by Batman and his allies.
The original Injustice: Gods Among Us was developed by NetherRealm Studios of Mortal Kombat fame, and was released in 2013 for PC and consoles. It became a critical and commercial success, spawning a media franchise that included comic book tie-ins by DC Comics, action figures, and even a mobile game that is still played to this day. A sequel, Injustice 2, continues the story and features Braniac invading Earth which forces Batman to team up with Superman following his defeat.
No release date or other details have been release for Injustice: Gods Among Us' animated movie yet.
