Batman: The Long Halloween Special Coming This October from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale

 

25 years after it originally released as a 13 issue miniseries before becoming one of the critically-acclaimed Batman graphic novel stories of all time, Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale are reuniting to return to the world of "Batman: The Long Halloween", as DC Comics has announced "Batman: The Long Halloween Special" - a 48 page prestige series book that will be coming out this October!

However that's not all, as Newsarama broke the story and also noticed that "specials" was in plural during the press release -- hinting that there could be more of these down the line and we could be getting more stories set in this very engaging storyline which inspired Christopher Nolan's Batman movies and the new DC Universe Movie adaptations of Batman: The Long Halloween - with Part One now available and Part Two coming later this month!

Set to be released next week and adapting the Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale graphic novel story of the same name, Warner Bros. Entertainment and DC Entertainment have released a new clip for the DC Universe Movie adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween Part One - which sees Jensen Ackles voicing Batman and Jim Gordon investigating The Holiday Killer's identity and getting information from the one and only Calendar Man at Arkham Asylum.

Batman: The Long Halloween will be released on Blu-Ray and Digital on June 22.

After releasing the trailer to the first part of the long awaited DC Universe Movie adaptation, Warner Bros. and DC (via Superherohype) have revealed the official Blu-Ray box art and release date for "Batman: The Long Halloween Part One" - which is adapted from the 90's comic book storyline of the same name by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale.

Starring Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles as Bruce Wayne/ Batman, the film explores Batman forming an alliance with Jim Gordon and Harvey Dent, while dealing with a new mysterious killer called Holiday and the rise of the supervillains in Gotham City. The Blu-Ray and Digital release will be out on June 22.

One of the most critically acclaimed Batman storylines is getting the animated movie treatment and is split into two parts, as Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's 1996-1997 limited comic series "Batman: The Long Halloween" finally gets its first trailer for Part One... And it looks absolutely stunning visually and tone wise!

Released exclusively by IGN, here's the very first sneak peek we get to Batman's early years - fighting criminals and forming an alliance with Jim Gordon and Harvey Dent while facing a new killer called Holiday and dealing with the rise of super villains in Gotham City.

Much like Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Batman: The Long Halloween Part One is slated for release in summer of this year, with Part Two expected to be released in the fall. Jensen Ackles leads the cast as the voice of Batman, and this will definitely be something to watch out for!

Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 Voice Cast sees Jensen Ackles take on The Dark Knight

One of the most critically acclaimed Batman stories in the 90's and acting as a continuation of Batman: Year One is getting the DC Universe Movie treatment, and Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have finally revealed the voice cast for the upcoming animated film adaptation of "Batman: The Long Halloween" - specifically the talents for Part 1 of this two part saga.

Leading the cast will be Supernatural's Jensen Ackles - who previously voiced Jason Todd/ Red Hood in "Batman: Under The Red Hood". He'll now be taking on Bruce Wayne/ Batman himself, while Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent/ Two-Face.. Naya Rivera of Glee is Selina Kyle/ Catwoman, while Billy Burke and Titus Welliver will voice Commissioner Gordon and Carmine Falcone respectively. As if last weekend's DC FanDome didn't have enough announcements in the live-action film department to share to the DC Universe worldwide, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have more in store for fans of their DC Animated Movies line - including their next adaptation of a classic Batman storyline that's getting not just one animated film, but two!

As reported by Superherohype and revealed during DC FanDome's "Superman: Man Of Tomorrow" panel, DC announced that "Batman: Soul of the Dragon" would be the first DC Universe Original Movie released in 2021. Following that will be the very first Justice Society centered animated film in "Justice Society: World War II". However, the big bombshell announcement for Batman fans was the confirmation that Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's critically acclaimed "Batman: The Long Halloween" - which will be split into two parts. The storyline, released originally as a 13-issue comic book limited series in 1996 and 1997. features Batman teaming up with James Gordon and Harvey Dent in order to solve the mystery of the Holiday killer. Elements of the story also served as an inspiration to Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight".

Batman: The Long Halloween Parts 1 and 2 will be released on the second half of 2021.
