Thank you 2019! HAPPY NEW YEAR AND WELCOME 2020!

Can't end the year without a THANK YOU 2019 collage!

2019 was something else - a year full of events, highlights, opportunities, and most important of all - changes. Through its ups and downs, there were things learned and things enjoyed, as well as bonding with those who matter in life and finding out more things about yourself as you make your way. As passionate as I am in popculture, arts, hobbies, and cosplay, it’s also being true as a person and showing faith and belief that we can all be good and inspiring examples to others. We learn to be better people, to forgive, and to believe in positive things - so we may look forward to new things and opportunities as we look to the new year ahead. That being said - IT WAS A WILD YEAR OF BATMAN, AVENGERS, SPIDER-MAN, RESIDENT EVIL 2, DEATH STRANDING, AND SO MUCH MORE! I got to meet celebrities like Henry Cavill, Ian McKellen, Hailee Steinfeld, Steven Ogg, & Michael Cudlitz, and attend awesome events like TOYCON, BatCon, and Spider-Con! Bonded with pals new and old, and travelled for the first time to Europe and have some happy memories moments with friends and loved ones! And of course seeing awesome films like Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Doctor Sleep, It: Chapter 2, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker. Playing some great new games like the RE2 Remake and Death Stranding, and of course adding some new cosplans and reliving some old ones! Let’s all look forward to new beginnings!

Happy New Year Everyone, and here's to a great 2020 for us all!

Back from Hiatus... HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

It's been a while everyone... I went on a mini hiatus again and it was a much needed break from blogging and sharing updates (which I still do in my Facebook page Timzster). As the times move onward things change, and for this blog there may be times I won't be able to write or share stuff - but that doesn't mean there won't be any activity! So do follow me in my social media channels on Facebook and Twitter!

Also since it's an annual tradition, here's a highlight poster/ collage of almost ALL THE THINGS I've done in 2018. Made this past New Year’s Eve, I made this to celebrate and honor the many things I’ve had in cosplay, conventions, and life. I’m not going break that and just before we say goodbye to 2018, here’s a MEGA POSTER to celebrate all the adventures I’ve had with family and friends alike! From Batman to Spider-Man, Metal Gear Solid and Star Wars, Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2, and going toAsiaPOP Comicon Manila and my first international con in New York Comic Con - SO MUCH to be thankful for despite the ups and downs that have happened. I look forward to what 2019 brings with the rest of you! HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!🎉❤️🎄🙏🏻

Goodbye 2017... Howdy 2018! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Another year goes bye bye, and here we are preparing to welcome a brand new one!

2017 certainly was a year of constant unpredictability and change. As with past years, I challenged myself to do new cosplays, and I've had PLENTY OF THEM. One of them - Logan - was my way of paying tribute to Hugh Jackman's portrayal of one of my favorite comic book characters in the big screen, and I was alongside Mislaine who did a WONDERFUL Laura/ X-23 right beside me. That movie is my pick for "2017 Film of the Year" as well, but I digress - this year has a LOT of EPIC films that did well in their own way.

As I pushed forward, I also had the opportunity to FINALLY cosplay Ryu from the Street Fighter series - honoring my fandom and the series' 30th Anniversary this year! I also got to have some AMAZING adventures with my Spider-Verse PH family - in no small part due to the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming this year and our favorite wallcrawler's introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Then there was the big departure - leaving a team I worked with for seven years due to creative differences and the way things were running. It was arguably the best decision I have made, and I'm used to working on my own and being free to do my own thing. That still didn't stop me from dressing up like a Bat - and I FINALLY UPGRADED MY BATSUIT just in time for the Justice League Movie - joining other like minded friends and comrades who also enjoyed doing things out of passion and for the fun of it.

From ToyCon to APCC, there were exciting conventions to attend and memories to cultivate - including meeting Karen Fukuhara/ Katana from Suicide Squad and Ray Fisher/ Cyborg himself with my buddy CAZ. Then there was Geek Day 2017 too and being invited as a judge and speaker. So much to be grateful for along with fellow ambassadors Dinny Grayson, Xidge Evangelista, and FoxRots! Plus I also got to cosplay Kylo Ren. for Star Wars and take part on A Hero's Call as Green Arrow!

Bottomline - 2017 was a rollercoaster ride full of unpredictability and memorable moments. I have a lot to convey and share, but this collage will do the trick for the highlights! THANK YOU AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY! TO 2018 WE GO!

Goodbye 2016... Hello 2017! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Pretty much self explnatory... But a final blog post nevertheless for 2016!

2016 had its ups and downs, but it certainly had a LOT of events and adventures in my world of popculture, cosplay, and hobbydom! I got to meet a lot of new friends, see some AWESOME films, and experience some pretty great moments that truly make the difference when it comes to living life to the fullest. I know everyone has gone through some tough times and we've seen some of the worst this particular year has to offer, but let us look forward and pray for the best that 2017 can bring to all of us!

From debuting new Batman cosplays based on Batman v Superman and DC Rebirth to upgrading my Green Arrow/ Arrow cosplay to Season 5, and enjoying seeing my DC, Marvel, Spider-Man, Star Trek, and more fandoms evolve and grow, it's been a challenging yet fruitful year indeed. All the cons I've participated in from Nexcon to Toycon to APCC and beyond have proven that a a lot can evolve and change, and the best is indeed yet to come as we look forward to the future.

To everyone who follows my page, to my family and friends, and to everyone out there living and dreaming big, have a blessed HAPPY NEW YEAR! Be the best you can be and more blessings will come your way! :D

Batman Arkham Origins: All new Story DLC confirmed for 2014!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

First off, it's OFFICIALLY 2014, so it's a brand new year with new hopes and dreams to pursue!

With that in mind, looks like fans of Batman and WB Games and DC Entertainment's epic Batman Arkham franchise are getting a treat sometime this year, as a NEW DLC story add-on is slated for release for the current Arkham prequel game, Batman: Arkham Origins!

More or less living up to their promise of giving an official announcement come New Year's Eve and New Year's Day itself, the official Batman Arkham Facebook page has teased that a "Humanitarian of the Year Awards" ceremony being held in Wayne Manor... And it looks like a certain "Cool Villain" will be crashing the party! If the ice doesn't tip you off, then you'd be wise to suspect that scientist Victor Fries will be crashing the party as his evil alter ego, Mr. Freeze! How will this fit into the scope of the Arkham Origins timeline? We'll find out soon enough as more announcements come as the year goes by!

Still, the chances of a brand new Arkham game being announced MAY happen somewhere down the line as well, and hopefully it'll bring Batman: The Animated Series voice actor Kevin Conroy back? We can only hope and pray that happens!

Batman: Arkham Origins is currently available for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC!

So before we welcome the big 2014, let's see what happened back in the year before us...

Via a clip from Good Morning America and a post from Superherohype, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb and Spider-Man himself were present to give a tease on the festivities to come in New York City, and here's a clip from that episode.

Remembering Great Things About 2011!

As we approach the end of 2011 and the beginning of a new year, I can't think of anything better or appropriate to describe my wishes for 2012 other than this simple panel from the Batman Adventures Holiday Special issue, featuring a quiet and tender discussion between two old friends of justice, The Dark Knight Batman and Police Commissioner James Gordon.

Seriously though, it's time for an annual list of popculture related things I found memorable within the year, and boy are there a lot to enumerate. Next year still ushers in The Dark Knight Rises, but this year also had big moments for the Caped Crusader, and he'll be featured extensively as I go on. Here goes some of the stuff I found so memorable for 2011.

COMICS: DC The New 52

Yes the big reboot. Call me biased or a sucker for Jim Lee's artistic talents, but I do love it when a plan, or in this case big gamble comes together, and 2011 saw the relaunch of the DC Universe in a somewhat new and unexpected way. Sure, it divided the comic continuity in a way where they weren't sure how taking the undies would make a difference, but it certainly sold numbers by the record, highlighted by the dominance of the publisher's flagship team-up title, Justice League, which is written by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee. Other nods go to Scott Snyder's Batman run, Jeff Lemire and Travel Foreman's Animal Man, and Grant Morrison's take on a younger Superman in Action Comics. Those books fared well. There are titles that have their flaws though, such as ones that treat heroines like sex objects (Starfire in Red Hood and the Outlaws) and books that readers fail to grasp like The Fury of Firestorm, but it's only been 5 months since the relaunch as of this writing, and it would be unfair to lay judgement right away without seeing a full year of this gamble take its course. So yes, 2011 in comics definitely was highlighted by DC The New 52. It was a big year indeed.

GAMES: Batman: Arkham City

Best. Comic. Book. Video. Game. Sequel. Ever. If you thought 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum was a sophisticated and brilliant piece of work, this will blow you off the edge, much like how Christopher Nolan raised his bar by making The Dark Knight an even better movie sequel to Batman Begins! The Dark Knight reigned supreme in 2011 in terms of comics and games alright. Just wait til 2011 for the epic conclusion to Nolan's Batman universe!

TV SHOW: Game Of Thrones

I'd be lying if I said The Walking Dead Season 2 was my favorite pick of this year. No, that honor goes to HBO's live action TV series adaptation of George R.R Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels, using the title of the first book of the series as its name - "Game of Thrones". As the name implies, the series evokes a world where chivalry is all but dead and treachery and conspiracy run rampant, as different factions fight and battle one another for the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms, not knowing what evil is slowly crawling out of the shadows. Martin has been called the "Modern J.R.R Tolkien", so that's saying a lot, plus Sean "Boromir" Bean of The Lord of The Rings fame is here as Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell... How can you go wrong with epic here?!

MOVIES: X-Men First Class

Frankly, it was a toss between this and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, but you can't go wrong with a formula that brings a classic Marvel superhero franchise together with an excellent cast and a near flawless script. The fact that this movie begs to be a semi-reboot of the X-Men film series bolds well for the franchise, and James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender outperformed themeselves as Charles Xavier and Magneto, leading to the birth of the "FassAvoy" and "McBender" era of internet memes. Actually, the origin also got accepted and embraced somewhat into mainstream Marvel continuity, so how's that for a domino effect. Definitely, X-Men First Class deserves the top spot for my movie of 2011!

ANIMATED MOVIE: Batman: Year One

Yes. This one takes the cake for perfectly adapting one of the most recognizable and seminal works of DC Comics, not to mention one of the series that returned Batman back to his darker roots. If you haven't watched this DC Animated Movie feature, I implore you to do so!

MUSIC: Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger ft. Christina Aguilera

As for BEST SONG, there are too many to count... But honorable mention is THIS:

Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger ft. Christina Aguilera

And there you have it... The Best I could pick out for 2011! 2012 is here, so Happy New Year!
