Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 Blu-Ray Box Art and Release Date revealed

 


After releasing the trailer to the first part of the long awaited DC Universe Movie adaptation, Warner Bros. and DC (via Superherohype) have revealed the official Blu-Ray box art and release date for "Batman: The Long Halloween Part One" - which is adapted from the 90's comic book storyline of the same name by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale.

Starring Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles as Bruce Wayne/ Batman, the film explores Batman forming an alliance with Jim Gordon and Harvey Dent, while dealing with a new mysterious killer called Holiday and the rise of the supervillains in Gotham City. The Blu-Ray and Digital release will be out on June 22.

Justice Society: World War II Blu-Ray Cover, Details, Release Date, and Trailer released

 


The next DC Universe Movie is well on its way, as Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have revealed the Blu-Ray cover, details, release date, and trailer to "Justice Society: World War II" - which sees 

Here's the official synopsis for the upcoming animated film: 

The Flash speeds into the middle of an epic battle between Golden Age DC Super Heroes and Nazis in Justice Society: World War II, the next entry in the DC Universe Movies series! 

Justice Society: World War II finds modern-day Barry Allen – prior to the formation of the Justice League – discovering he can run even faster than he imagined, and that milestone results in his first encounter with the Speed Force. The Flash is promptly launched into the midst of a raging battle – primarily between Nazis and a team of Golden Age DC Super Heroes known as The Justice Society of America. Led by Wonder Woman, the group includes Hourman, Black Canary, Hawkman, Steve Trevor and the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick.

Justice Society: World War II will be released digitally on April 27, and will make its way to home media on May 11.

ICYMI: Batman: The Long Halloween to be adapted into 2 part animated films


As if last weekend's DC FanDome didn't have enough announcements in the live-action film department to share to the DC Universe worldwide, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have more in store for fans of their DC Animated Movies line - including their next adaptation of a classic Batman storyline that's getting not just one animated film, but two!

As reported by Superherohype and revealed during DC FanDome's "Superman: Man Of Tomorrow" panel, DC announced that "Batman: Soul of the Dragon" would be the first DC Universe Original Movie released in 2021. Following that will be the very first Justice Society centered animated film in "Justice Society: World War II". However, the big bombshell announcement for Batman fans was the confirmation that Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's critically acclaimed "Batman: The Long Halloween" - which will be split into two parts. The storyline, released originally as a 13-issue comic book limited series in 1996 and 1997. features Batman teaming up with James Gordon and Harvey Dent in order to solve the mystery of the Holiday killer. Elements of the story also served as an inspiration to Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight".

Batman: The Long Halloween Parts 1 and 2 will be released on the second half of 2021.

Justice League Dark: Apokolips War ends the DC Animated Movie Universe saga


Billed as the culmination to a six-year animated movie saga that began with 2014's "Justice League War", Warner Bros. Animation is set to release the final chapter of the DC Animated Movie Universe with May's "Justice League Dark: Apokolips War" - which will see about every character from the Justice League and Justice League Dark unite to take on the forces of the fiery world of Apokolips and its supreme ruler, the New God Darkseid. As reported by Comic Book.com, following the adaptation of "Flashpoint" with Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and then the emergence of films starting with JL War that were heavily inspired by "The New 52", it looks like WB and DC are going to begin things anew - possibly with a "Rebirth" after this is finished.

DC Universe releases first "Superman: Red Son" animated movie trailer


Based on Mark Millar and Dave Johnson's classic 2003 DC Elseworld's story where Kal-El from Krypton crashed into the Soviet Union instead of Kansas, DC Universe Original Movies is adapting "Superman: Red Son" into animated movie form - and IGN has the exclusive first trailer online.

Wonder Womans: Bloodlines trailer and synopsis released


After releasing Batman: Hush and integrating it into their continuity of DC Animated Films sharing the same universe, DC Entertainment's next "DC Universe Original Movie" will focus on Diana of Themyscira herself as well as her legend, her home, and her adventure meeting and saving fighter pilot Steve Trevor in "Wonder Woman: Bloodlines".

Justice League vs The Fatal Five trailer released


Set to hit this year as the next DC Animated Movie is the long running  "DC Universe Original Movie" series, Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment have released the very first trailer to "Justice League vs The Fatal Five" - which will introduce Green Lantern Jessica Cruz and Star Boy and feature animation ala the "DC Animated Universe" and the iconic looks of the Justice League as they appeared in the animated series of the same name as well as "Justice League Unlimited" in the early 2000's AND featuring the voices of Kevin Conroy, George Newbern, and Susan Eisenberg back as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman respectively.

Batman: The Long Halloween reported to be next DC Universe Original Movie project



Those who have been enjoying DC Entertainment's highly successful "DC Universe Original Movie" line-up of animated films may be getting one of the most critically acclaimed graphic novel adaptations very soon, as a two-part animated movie adaptation of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's "Batman: The Long Halloween".

According to a report by Revenge of the Fans, the 1996 graphic novel series that follows Batman's alliance with Jim Gordon and Harvey Dent - all while facing the criminal underworld while seeing the rise of the first supervillains and the murders orchestrated by the mysterious serial killer known only as "Holiday" - who attacks major players and criminals on key holidays like Halloween and New Year's Eve.

No release date or other details have been released on the possible "Batman: The Long Halloween" adaptation, but expect "Batman Hush" to hit this year in time for Batman's 80th Anniversary.

ICYMI: Batman: Hush getting DC Universe Original Movie animated film in 2019


One of the most iconic Batman storylines will FINALLY get the long awaited animated "DC Universe Original Movie" it deserves, as DC Entertainment formally announced in their San Diego Comic-Con panel that "Batman: Hush" - the 12 part Batman storyline written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Jim Lee that ran from "Batman #608 to Batman #619" and was formally collected into trades and hardcovers released by DC Comics through the years. In the story, Batman faces a new and mysterious opponent, the titular "Hush", who manipulates the Dark Knight into a series of confrontations with some of his deadliest adversaries. While that is happening, he and Catwoman share a romantic spark and get closer than ever.

The animated movie is part of other upcoming DC animated films that include "Wonder Woman: Bloodlines", "The Reign of the Supermen", and "Justice League vs The Fatal Five". All of these are expected to be released in 2019 - which also happens to be the same year Batman celebrates his 80th anniversary. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

Batman: Gotham By Gaslight gets official release date and trailer


Adapting the first DC Elseworlds story of the same name and bringing the world of the Victorian Era and Batman together in an alternate 19th century, the next DC Universe Movie will be "Batman: Gotham By Gaslight" - featuring the voices of Bruce Greenwood as Batman and Jennifer Carpenter as Selina Kyle.

ICYMI: DC Universe Original Movie's next project is "Batman: Gotham by Gaslight"


One of the earliest forms of Elseworlds tales is getting the animated film treatment, as the upcoming "Batman and Harley Quinn" DC Universe Original Movie lists down one of its Special Features (via Comic Book.com) as a sneak peek on "Batman: Gotham by Gaslight" - based on the 1989 story set in the Victorian era where Batman hunts down Jack the Ripper. The original graphic novel was written by Brian Augustyn, with pencils by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. One can only wonder how the future DC Animate film will look once a sneak peek comes... But it is certainly exciting to imagine.

Batman and Harley Quinn: Blu-Ray/ DVD Cover and release date revealed


Set for release in the next few months and bringing a kind of "Batman: The Animated Series/ The New Batman Adventures" nostalgia with its animation and setting, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment (via Batman-News) have released the cover art to the Blu-Ray/ DVD combo release of "Batman and Harley Quinn" - the brand new DC Universe Original Movie that features Kevin Conroy and Loren Lester returning as Batman and Nightwing, while The Big Bang Theory's Melissa Rauch will be the new voice behind Harley Quinn.

Batman: Bad Blood gets new trailer and release date


Looking forward to next year and promoting the next new animated flick in the long running DC Universe Original Movie line of films, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have revealed the trailer and release date for "Batman: Bad Blood", which sees Batman disappearing and his Bat-Family consisting of Nightwing, Robin, and new arrivals Batwoman and BatWing to help fill the void left by The Dark Knight's absence.

Justice League: War: New "Superman Blu-Ray Pack" and two clips tease the action to come


Set to be released early next month in Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Media, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's next installment in their DC Universe Original Movie line-up will finally see the very first New 52 adventure imagined in animated film, as the first six issue story arc for Justice League entitled "Origin" gets its own movie with "Justice League: War"!

Via CosmicBookNews and the interwebz is a look at the one of the exclusive releases for the film, which is a Blu-Ray combo pack with a 4" New 52 Superman figurine included in the mix!

Also, two small clips have been uploaded online by Warner Bros to tease the action to come, with the first clip showing Batman and Green Lantern's first meeting, and the other Wonder Woman attacking Darkseid's ParaDemons invading Earth!
