Star Wars: The Force Awakens: First trailer debuts on select US theaters on Black Friday

The world is itching for their first taste of the first trailer of the newest installment of the saga that takes place in a Galaxy Far, Far Away... And selected theaters in the US will get their chance starting this November 28, aka Black Friday!

According to Comic Book.com, select Regal theaters in the states will screen the very first trailer of J.J. Abrams' upcoming first installment in Disney new sets of Star Wars films with "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" from Nov. 28-30. if you happen to live in the states, you can check out the list on Regal's official website.

While a select few get to see it via that outlet, here's hoping an online version of the trailer debuts this week as well!

Star Wars: Episode VII Officially Begins Filming

The picture seen above from Bad Robot Tweet says it all... STAR WARS EPISODE VII HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN FILMING.

What we can expect from the J.J. Abrams directed sequel is still as mysterious as The Force itself, but with an all-star cast lined up which includes the original trilogy stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford paired up with likes of John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and Andy Serkis, this is going to be one new adventure fans of a galaxy far, far away dare not miss! Star Wars: Episode VII gets an official release date: December 18, 2015

The return to a galaxy far, far away finally has a date set... And it's happening in two years time!

Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Pictures have announced via the official Star Wars website an official release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, and it's happening on December 18, 2015. With J.J Abrams directing and co-writing the script alongside veteran Star Wars movie screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, the new series moves forward into the saga and universe created by filmmaker and visionary George Lucas. No word yet on what the actual story will be, but with the date set, we'll find out soon enough.

Star Wars: J.J Abrams to helm Episode VII; Won't feature Drew Struzan artwork

Looks like the new generation of Star Wars films under Walt Disney Pictures is going to take off in a big way, as Lost and current Star Trek films helmer J.J. Abrams has confirmed that he is directing Episode VII! Via a report in TheWrap and posted in newssites like Superherohype, Abrams has been continually asked to direct the new SW film, and being a big fan of the universe itself, has finally agreed to do so. Unfortunately, the new films under Walt Disney Pictures and LucasFilms Ltd. won't be seeing one thing returning, and that's legendary artist Drew Struzan. Known for his amazing posters in the classic Star Wars and Indiana Jones films, the artist took to his official Facebook Page and wrote a post called "Misunderstood...", confirming that he isn't returning and that Disney hasn't contacted him for work. Star Trek Into Darkness: Fan who was shown early screening of film by J.J. Abrams passes away

A noble deed was done last week by director J.J. Abrams, as he granted the wish of a certain fan diagnosed with a terminal illness to view an early version of his upcoming Star Trek sequel flick, Star Trek Into Darkness. The fan, Daniel Craft, was diagnosed with two forms of cancer, and his ultimate wish was to see the new Trek flick after doctors gave him just a few weeks to live. He and his wife went to see an IMAX screening of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to catch the 9-minute prologue, but unfortunately it wasn't screened in their theater, and hopes to catch it looked bleak for Dan.

Fortunately, a friend of Dan who uses Reddit took to the interwebz and started out a petition to ask J.J. Abrams to grant his pal his ultimate wish to see the trek film. When word got to Abrams, he did more than show the prologue, as he gave them the entire film (albeit an early draft) via a private screening! This wish grant made a lot of people respect Mr. Abrams a lot more thanks to his generosity, and one fan's dream came true.

Unfortunately,  Sad news came from Mr. Craft's family, as he passed away with his wife and brother at his bedside. It's truly remarkable that he got his wish at least by J.J. Abrams just before he left this world, and one Trek fan boldly got what no fan has gotten before... Seeing a Star Trek film first hand from the helmsman himself. UPDATE: Enewsi confirmed that Robert Orci posted a behind the scenes picture from the FIRST Star Trek film, though the writer promises an official set photo from the second flick will be up soon.

Via Robert Orci's official Twitter page and Enewsi, the first official set photo of J.J. Abrams Star Trek Sequel is now online! Showing the director himself together with his cast and crew aboard the bridge of the U.S.S Enterprise, filming for the new Trek flick is underway, and is expected for release sometime in 2013!
