TGS '15: The King of Fighters XIV announced by SNK Playmore

After some years of uncertainty on whether a new installment in the long-running fighting game series would be made and announced, SNK Playmore took to Sony's Tokyo Game Show Press Conference and officially announced "The King of Fighters XIV" for Playstation 4.

Here's the short but somewhat revealing teaser trailer, having a bit of a KOF Maximum Impact flavor as it shows the game rendered in 3D and featuring eternal rivals Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami battling it out.

KOF XIII Update: Adding New Tweaks To The Competition!

It's been a while since I've heard any word on The King Of Fighters XIII, but all that changes with these neat looking Technical Video Chapters released by the folks from SNK Playmore, giving players some more insight as to what to expect from the new entry to the series. As the latest installment that promises to conclude the Ash Crimson saga, KOF XIII removes some of the last game's gameplay elements, such as the Critical Counter System, but delivers some new tweaks in its place, such as EX Moves ala Street Fighter IV, and the return of the Multi Power Gauge, as well as adding Drive Cancels, aka Super Cancels. For a taste of things, check out Chapter 1 and 2 of the Technical Reference Videos Here!

Looking good, eh? With console releases to follow shortly, KOF XIII will first make its mark when it gets released on arcades in Japan this July 14.

The King Of Fighters XIII Is Coming...

All we get is a logo and announcement, but everything is official, and SNK Playmore has announced the next entry to their 2D KOF series, The King Of Fighters XIII. The news was posted in Kotaku, though details about the game at this point is everything but null. The only thing confirmed at this point is the game will be running on the Taito Type X2 arcade hardware... and nothing else is said about who's going to be in it or whether it'll be handdrawn again like the last lukewarm entry, KOF XII. The official preview is expected to be around the end of next month, so until then, let's hope for a better installment this time around with a DEFINITE story and boss worthy of the SNK Bossy Syndrome legacy.
