Captain America Update: Jon Favreau Confirms Howard Stark's Appearance!

What seems to be a growing trend of cameo appearances in Marvel movies has just gotten bigger, as Iron Man and Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau has confirmed that the armored avenger's dad, Howard Stark, will be appearing in The First Avenger: Captain America movie! MTV has an article and a video up on the scoop, where Favreau answers questions surrounding Howard's appearance in the World War II era. Of course, the character is named after inventor Howard Hughes, and he'll be much younger during that time, so actor John Slattery might not be back to reprise the role. This is quite a surprise, but it actually makes sense if it's a younger version of Howard. My friends and I were discussing several possibilities where the Stark name would appear down the line in Marvel history, and now we have a link of sorts teased for the Cap movie. Captain America Update: Hugo Weaving As Red Skull... Confirmed!

It's been on talks for a couple of weeks now, but Marvel Studios has finally finished negotiations with a certain A-List actor to play the Red Skull in next year's star spangled superhero flick - The First Avenger, Captain America!

Hugo Weaving, best known for his roles as Agent Smith in "The Matrix Trilogy", Lord Elrond in "The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy", and the voice of Megatron in Michael Bay's Transformer films, has been confirmed to play the role of the Red Skull, the deadly arch-nemesis of Chris Evan's Captain America! Marvel.com and Superherohype have the scoop up, and suffice to say, I'm glad that Weaving is playing the role of the "Third Reich Villain", whose real name is Johann Schmidt. Weaving will reunite with director Joe Johnston, who directed "The Wolfman" before moving on to "The First Avenger". What does this mean to fans and moviegoers everywhere?
