One of Marvel Studios first shows on Disney + as part of “Phase Four” is finally available on Home Video - as “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier” has been released on Blu-Ray! This spin-off series to the Captain America films follows the adventures of Sam Wilson/ Falcon and Bucky Barnes/ Winter Soldier as they navigate in a post-Blip world where Steve Rogers has retired from the role of Captain America and Sam was given the shield to succeed him. Just as they agreed to share the mantle and shields together, Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson are going to join forces once more alongside their allies for a brand new crossover event that will test and push the legacy of Captain America to its limits.
As announced by Marvel during last weekend's San Diego Comic-Con and fully detailed at their official website, "Captain America: Cold War" is coming and will begin during Spring 2023. Set to crossover with ongoing titles "Captain America: Symbol of Truth" and "Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty"
As reported by CBR and teased by Marvel Comics, here's the synopsis of what to expect with Cold War.
"The secret origin of Steve’s shield, the revenge of White Wolf and Crossbones, and the return of Nomad—but which one? All roads lead to COLD WAR, a new CAPTAIN AMERICA event kicking off in Spring 2023!"
The road to Cold War begins with Captain America: Symbol of Truth #6 and Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #5 this October.
It’s not one Captain America throwing his mighty shield… Ut will be TWO now.
Yup, you read it right - the mantle of Captain America will be shared by the original and one of his best friends and successors, as Marvel and Entertainment Weekly have revealed that April’s “Captain America #0” will be a double sized issue that serves as a springboard for two new Cap titles - “Captain America: Symbol of Truth” that stars Sam Wilson and comes out on May, and the. “Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty” with the original Steve Rogers going on his own adventures!
This will be the second time that Steve and Sam have had their own respective titles… In a way. Back during the build up to “Secret Empire” when “Steve Rogers” returned, he headlined his own Cap title while Sam also continues as his version and carried the original shield. Now it appears both heroes will share the mantle while the ex-Falcon gets a new one with different colors.
