Back To The Future Was Released 38 Years Ago Today

On July 3, 1985, one of the most innovative films in cinema history was released with "Back To The Future" - directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd as Marty McFly and Doctor Emmett "Doc" Brown - two individuals who would literally make Time Travel the coolest and wildest adventure ever seen in movie history.

Set in the 1980's, Fox's Marty unwittingly travels back to 1955 in a Time Machine built out of a DeLorean by his scientist friend Doc Brown. From there he meets his parents at a young age, and causes a series of events that could change the course of history and endanger his very own existence. In order to fix things and get back to his proper time, he meets and befriends a younger version of Doc Brown - and the rest is an adventure not to miss for science fiction and movie buffs alike.

For nearly four decades, Back to the Future has influenced not just cinema and popular culture, but worlds of science and human history as well as it has inspired others to enter the field of science by fascinating others with its concepts of time travel and building it out of a then stylish automobile of that period. The film has been selected for preservation in the National Film Registry, and remains a beloved pop culture movie anyone can get into.

Back To The Future (1985) Theatrical Trailer

While many things can be said about the film's success and spawning two follow-up that would collectively be called the "Back To The Future Trilogy", the impact BTTF and its sequels gave to us cannot be understated. We absolutely loved Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd as Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown, and their adventures through time back to the past and into the future have definitely inspired us as well as new viewers to this day. I definitely had to reminisce and make a tribute video - especially with Netflix putting up all three films this month and Hasbro making an upcoming Transformers toy of the DeLorean called "Gigawatt"!
