Now that the heroes have gathered and assembled, it's time for the bad guys to take the spotlight - and what better way to kick the villains off but with a poster of the main baddie of Zack Snyder's Justice League himself - the Lord of Apokalips, Darkseid, as well as a teaser spotlighting his emissary and representative warrior, Steppenwolf!
Zack Snyder's Justice League | Steppenwolf Teaser
Zack Snyder's Justice League streams on HBO Max starting March 18.
A week into announcing that the “Snyder Cut” is real and is coming to HBO Max next year, director Zack Snyder took to Twitter to share a new image of the big baddie himself - Darkseid - as he’ll be appearing in “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”. The scene - which is similar to the past battle scene that introduces Steppenwolf and the Mother Boxes - feature the Lord of Apokolips instead - and rightfully so as the character is the head villain of the DC Extended Universe.
Justice League is already three weeks "All In" in theaters, and while it has passed the $500 Million mark in the Box Office it has received mixed reviews from critics and viewers alike. This has led many to believe that Zack Snyder's original vision of the film (if not changed by WB and adding new scenes by Joss Whedon) would have featured something pretty interesting and actually expected by fans - an appearance by the big baddie from Apokalips himself, DARKSEID.
According to Kevin Smith's "Fatman on Batman" podcast - the tyrannical ruler and wielder of the Omega Sanction was supposed to appear via visions seen by a resurrected Superman who briefly turns evil because of Steppenwolf's tempting offer. Unfortunately that never came to pass in the final release, and all we get is stories of what could have been from Smith - which was reported by Newsarama and Screen Rantas well. Hopefully in the home video release we may see those things behind the scenes touched upon by Snyder and crew. Until then, it's still a long wait until this DCEU film hits Blu-Ray, Digital, and DVD.
