Captain America 3 confirmed for May 6, 2016

After speculation and rumors persisted that the mystery Marvel film going toe-to-toe with "Batman Vs Superman" in 2016 was the follow-up to this year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios and Disney have indeed confirmed that the next Star-Spangled outing of Chris Evans would indeed hit that very year, on May 6. Once again to be helmed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the third Cap film has no description or title to it yet, but it's likely that the popularity and big earnings of Cap 2 have played a key part in the release date's confirmation, with the film earning $96.2 Million on its opening weekend!

Cap is set to return next year however with his fellow heroes like Iron Man and Thor with Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is currently filming. In fact, photo leaks of the Super Soldier's new uniform have gone online, and here's a look at it via fangroup Marvel Cinematic Universe's Facebook page. 

Captain America returns on Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2016, while Captain America 3 is scheduled to hit on May 6, 2016.

Marvel Movies: New promotional art look at the new Cap suit in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"

Months ago, the internet released promotional images and artwork for Marvel Studios' next Cap adventure for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", which together with "Guardians of the Galaxy" makes up the 2014 line-up of Marvel Movies of "Phase 2" of their Marvel Cinematic Universe. A promo art pic was released of Cap wearing what looked like an amalgamation of his "Avengers" uniform and the comic book "Heroic Age" outfit of Commander/ Captain Steve Rogers... And clearly that's going to be the new suit Chris Evans will wear when he dons the stars and stripes once more for the sequel.

The Avengers 2 gets an official release date

After signing an exclusive deal with Marvel Studios that runs all the way until June 2015, Joss Whedon is primed and ready to helm a sequel to his monster superhero team flick "The Avengers", which has now been given a release date of May 1, 2015! Looking to be the major part of the "Phase 2" initiative of Marvel films which include "Iron Man 3" (note: production tentatively on hold due to Robert Downey Jr. injuring his foot during a stunt sequence, as reported by Deadline), "Thor: The Dark World", and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", "The Avengers 2" will be Whedon's primary project alongside an untitled Marvel TV series that takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No other details have arisen regarding what the plot of the sequel will be, but alongside the other superhero team movie for Phase 2 which is "Guardians of the Galaxy", Marvel is not holding any punches when it comes to unleashing superhero movie goodness. Captain America 2 gets a release date!

Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios have officially announced a release date for their second Captain America film and follow up to Captain America: The First Avenger! The movie is set for an April 4, 2014 release, and will apparently see Steve Rogers as the star spangled avenger working alongside Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D in the present! No other specific details have been given, but the news broke out via Marvel's official Twitter page, and the news has been reposted in Comic Book Movie and Superherohype! Also above is the latest still featuring Chris Evans as Cap in his next appearance for this summer's upcoming superhero flick, The Avengers!
