Doctor Strange: Benedict Cumberbatch diagnoses The Avengers injuries

In what is certainly a humorous and pretty smart take on "Marvel Cinematic Universe" relations, Benedict Cumberbatch "diagnoses" The Avengers and the injuries sustained by them and other people in this great video promoting "Doctor Strange", using footage from this year's past MCU film "Captain America: Civil War" where Earth's Mightiest Heroes clashed against each other and then some!

The Doctor Is In

On a somewhat related note, here's the past week's Jimmy Kimmel Live segment where Stephen Strange makes a terrible attraction for a children's birthday party.

Captain America: Civil War: Sokovia Accords from "Phase Two" box set reveal what the "Civil War" in the MCU is about

The divide and subsequent fight between different Avengers factions in Captain America: Civil War isn't regulated to just bruised egos or bones to pick with one another... But rather because of the "Sokovia Accords", which follow in the wake of the events of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and the attack that the evil A.I. unleashed which almost destroyed the world.

As seen in Comic Book.com, a picture of the actual file that comes with the Marvel Cinematic Universe "Phase Two" box set has been revealed, and comes with a documented message that must be signed by members of the Avengers, as it states:

"In accordance with the document at hand, I hereby certify that the below mentioned participants, peoples and individuals, shall no longer operate freely or unregulated, but instead operate under the rules, ordinances and governances of the afore mentioned United Nations panel, acting only when and if the panel deems it appropriate and/or necessary. -Sokovia Accords"

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Hi-Res pic of Josh Brolin as Thanos

Probably most of you caught Guardians of the Galaxy already by now... And probably heard of the official casting of actor Josh Brolin as the big intergalactic baddy of the Marvel Cosmic Universe himself, Thanos the Mad Titan.

Following that big SDCC '14 Marvel Studios' panel announcement that pretty much cemented his new role in an Epic way, the American Gangster and Men In Black III star has appeared in GotG as a "presence" that builds up to something bigger down the line in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character first appeared in Joss Whedon's "The Avengers" in 2012, but in a cameo appearance in the film's mid-credits scene, and was played by actor Damion Poitier.

When the Mad Titans next appearance will be is anyone's guess, but Marvel Studios' producer Kevin Feige did say he could be the villain for the third Avengers film, since Ultron will be the focus of the next MCU movie slated for May 2015 with Avengers: Age of Ultron. Only time will tell for sure.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - Ultron revealed, Cap and Iron Man on the Entertainment Weekly cover, and article covering the plot of the film!

In what is certainly a BIG MONTH for popculture and comics as fans around the world eagerly await this year's San Diego Comic-Con to happen, Marvel and Entertainment Weekly have gone ahead and teased fans waiting for the arrival of news for the second film gathering of Earth's Mightiest Heroes on-screen, as the cover to the new issue of EW features Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans back as Iron Man and Captain America respectively in their new suits sans mask for Avengers: Age of Ultron... With the titular bad guy evil robot himself (who will be played by James Spader) standing in the middle of them!

And just like that, the new EW article that features the cover also reveals how Ultron was made... By Tony Stark/ Iron Man himself! After the events of Iron Man 3 and his Iron Legion coming into the fold, Stark devises a plan to make a credible program to help in assessing threats... Which goes awfully wrong when it becomes evil and sentient. From there it becomes apparent how things will unfold in this next adventure by Marvel Studios and Disney for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as The Avengers will assemble to fight a threat that is seemingly unbeatable, and a living program to boot.

More information on EW's scoop and feature on Avengers: Age of Ultron can be found at their official page. Stay tuned for more updates as they come when SDCC 2014 arrives before the end of the month!

UPDATE: Comic Book.com has featured the first official stills from the movie, including this "wardrobe" piece!

Marvel Movies: Robert Downey Jr. will officially return as Iron Man for The Avengers 2 & 3

After rumors, speculation, and wonder as to what the future of Tony Stark and Iron Man would be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Robert Downey Jr.'s latest adventure this year with Iron Man 3, Marvel has officially given the word:

RDJ WILL RETURN AS TONY STARK IN THE AVENGERS 2 & THE AVENGERS 3.

That being said, that clears up the worries and we'll be seeing more RDJ/ Tony with Earth's Mightiest Heroes starting with the 2015 sequel to the 2012 blockbuster team up that was "The Avengers".

No word on whether  RDJ's suiting up for more solo Iron Man adventures, but this is already awesome news as it is. Maybe somewhere down along the line, but with the other big guns of Marvel, that's a great start for Downey's comeback as Ol' Shellhead.

The Avengers 2: Loki won't be returning according to Joss Whedon

Looks like fans of Marvel's God of Mischief won't be seeing their favorite trickster back for The Avengers 2.

During his guesting at the Empire Podcast and reported via a post in Bleeding Cool, Joss Whedon confirmed and silenced the persisting rumors that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would see the return of Tom Hiddleston as "Loki" for the sequel to the 2012 superhero team blockbuster movie, where he played the main antagonist for the film.

Lifted from the podcast and article, Whedon remarked:

"Everyone is going to be looking for the Loki-Hulk smash moment [in Avengers 2] and you’ll be looking for quim. First of all, imitating what I did before is the surest way to do it not as well. Second of all, Loki’s not there to say those terrible things. Although I do think we should bring the word back. Not as an insult, it’s just a nice word."

Well, there you have it. No Loki for The Avengers 2. At least he'll be coming back for Thor: The Dark World. For more info, read more from the source post at Bleeding Cool.

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Negotiations for certain Avengers stars in tight spots

Looks like the Marvel Cinematic Universe paid off with their investments with 2012's "The Avengers" capping off a successful Phase One and this year's "Iron Man 3" ushering in "Phase Two", but things aren't quite easy when it comes to hiring and getting the faces behind the suits and tights to return, especially those that make up Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the Big Screen.

Reported by several news and pop culture websites in the past couple of days since Iron Man 3's release in the US, Tony Stark and Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. has officially ended his multi-film contract with the release of the armored avenger's third solo flick, meaning Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios will have to renegotiate a deal with the man who literally made the man behind the suit and started the Marvel Cinematic Universe w/ Jon Favreau when the first Iron Man film was released way back in 2008. Right now, the actor is in talks to return for "The Avengers 2" and "The Avengers 3", but he's still not discussing about a return for a fourth Iron Man film.

Apparently, there's a possible explanation why, and it may involve two of his fellow Avengers.

Marvel announces Thanos Rising

As part of their rising Marvel NOW! initiative, Marvel is bringing back the Mad Titan himself... Thanos, in a new series called "Thanos Rising" that explores what remained a mystery for so long... His origins.

In a new limited series to be helmed by the creative team of Jason Aaron and Simone Bianchi, Thanos Rising explores the tale before the villain came to be who he was... A power hungry catalyst of destruction who was heavily featured in the now classic "The Infinity Gauntlet" saga and it's succeeding crossovers, "The Infinity War" and "The Infinity Crusade". Thanos also made a cameo appearance in a mid-post credits scene of 2012's blockbuster superhero flick The Avengers, where he was revealed to be the benefactor of both Loki and the alien race known as the Chutari.
