Batman: Arkham Knight is FREE on Playstation Plus this month

It's a great year to be a Batman fan. Not only is the Caped Crusader celebrating his 80th Anniversary, but there's PLENTY of other occasions to be happy and be proud about if you're a long time follower of Bruce Wayne and his war against crime and the forces of darkness.

Last month marked the 10th Anniversary of "Batman: Arkham Asylum" - Warner Bros. Games and Rocksteady Studios' first foray into the Dark Knight and his world with an adventure seeing our hero trapped with his worst adversaries inside the institution dedicated to the criminally insane. It was a near open-world third person adventure that allowed players to play as Bats - with access to his tech and fighting prowess while navigating him to cull the uprising inside Arkham Asylum and stop his eternal archnemesis The Joker once and for all.

To say that and its sequel "Batman: Arkham City" are masterpieces are nothing short of classics is one thing. The latter game upped the ante with making a section of Gotham the titular replacement facility, and opening Batman up to a bigger world of exploration and adventure that only saw fans hungry for more... Which they got with "Batman: Arkham Knight".

Released over four years ago, "Batman: Arkham Knight" pushes the stakes even higher for Gotham City by plunging it into a "No Man's Land" scenario and forcing Batman to "even the odds" with a new souped up Batsuit, more tech, and a brand new Batmobile that is introduced as a new gameplay element for the sequel. Hot Toys reveals "Batman: Arkham Asylum: The Joker" figure

Once again proving that they are undoubtedly one of the most detailed action figure makers in the world, Hot Toys has officially announced their newest Batman related figure coming out soon - The Joker as seen in Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Rocksteady Studios' "Batman: Arkham Asylum". The first of the critically acclaimed "Batman Arkham" games, this 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure perfectly recreates the Clown Prince of Crime as seen in the 2009 adventure, who is voiced by Mark Hamill who reprises his role from Batman: The Animated Series!

Batman: Return to Arkham: New trailer hits and the game will hit this October

Once announced for a July release but put on indefinite hold to work out the kinks and fix and issues the game may have, Warner Bros. Games, DC Entertainment, and Rocksteady Studios have released a brand new trailer for the HD compilation release "Batman: Return To Arkham" - which bundles the 2009 and 2011 games "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City" together, complete with all DLC and utilizing the Unreal 4 Engine to bring High Definition versions of the first two Batman Arkham games to current generation consoles.

Batman: Return To Arkham has been delayed indefinitely

Looks like fans who were looking forward to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Rocksteady Studios' remastered re-release of the first two Batman Arkham games are going to have to wait a little bit longer, as a report by Batman-News.com confirms that "Batman: Return To Arkham" has been delayed indefinitely.

According to the official WB Games Forums post, the decision for the delay was made in order to give the developers more time to fix the remastering of "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City" - which are two of the finest chapters in the series. Fan made comparison videos between footage remastered and the original release showed that the older versions looked better. Looks like the delay was justified, and a better and more confident product is more serviceable than a bad one.

Aiming to get fans nostalgic to replay two of the biggest Batman games to date, WB, DC Entertainment, and Rocksteady Studios have officially announced the long rumored Batman Arkham collection that packages "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City". Titled "Batman: Return To Arkham" - the HD rerelease will contain both games remastered in HD and contain all DLC content that were compatible with both games.

Batman: Arkham Origins: Kevin Conroy won't be returning to voice Batman

It's certainly not the best news to hear as April 2013 ends, and it's literally a game changer in every sense of the word.

Via word from Batman-News and Arkhamverse, a story from this month's issue of South African gaming magazine NAG reports that legendary Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy won't be returning to play the Caped Crusader in this year's upcoming Batman prequel game, Batman: Arkham Origins.



The new studio and developer of the game, WB Games Montreal, explains that they want to tap a younger voice actor for the role, since Arkham Origins focuses on a younger and more inexperienced Batman who has to evade and battle eight deadly assassins sent to kill him on Christmas Eve.

With Conroy last playing the role of Batman in this month's DC Universe brawler Injustice: Gods Among Us, it's truly sad news to hear. After all, he's the longest actor to play Batman, voicing the role for over 20 years since Batman: The Animated Series! It's certainly the biggest change after fellow DC Animated Universe alum Mark Hamill's retired from playing The Joker after Batman: Arkham City. With Rocksteady Studios not developing this game at all and Batman writer Paul Dini not writing the story, it all truly makes Arkham Origins a new game and experience in itself.
