DC Comics reveals December 2014 Darwyn Cooke variant cover theme
Looks like DC Comics is going for another variant theme month come December, and this time all the focus will be on the art style and pencils of one of the most talented artists of recent comic history - Darwyn Cooke!
Yes, the man who drew the classic DC: The New Frontier and has great runs in The Spirit and Catwoman is bringing his art skills for December's line of variant covers for books in The New 52, which you can read the list of in Comic Vine. The cover to Justice League #37 is shown above, and Cooke recently did a variant for this month's issue #33 of the comic to honor Batman's 75th Anniversary this year!
Check out ALL THE COVERS via Newsarama. Watch out for the Darwyn Cooke wave of DC Comics New 52 covers this December!

One cool variant cover to Batman: The Dark Knight #1!
DC Comics has released some pretty neat variant covers to some of their upcoming books, and they're all featured over at their blog The Source. The one cover that caught my eye though, is the variant to the David Finch written and drawn first issue of "Batman: The Dark Knight", which is provided by artist Andy Clarke.
Impressive is the word I'd use for this cover, and it's one of the better covers I've seen with Bruce Wayne in his new Batman costume, running down to face crime and evil head on! For more variant covers of other DC titles plus the Black and White variant to this issue, check out The Source!

DC unleashes One Shot issues and variant cover madness this January!
On January 2011, DC Comics will releasing a series of of one-shot books circling around 4 key players in the DCU. These include Starman/ Congorilla, Shazam, Steel, and Congorilla, and solicitations are listed in via DC and posted in DC's blog The Source and comic book news site Newsarama.
However, the real treat is catching some unique variant covers that follow the same logo cover treatment the one-shots are using, and up above is the variant "one-shot type cover" to Batman Inc. #3! Possibly my favorite among the bunch, it spotlights the new costume of Bruce Wayne as Batman, with the redesigned logo above and the art illustrated by David Finch! Pretty rad, but Bats is not the only one to get the logo cover treatment. Fellow JLA members Superman, Flash, and Green Lantern also have their own variant covers, so be sure to check 'em out at the post over at Newsarama, and comic shops this January!

Feed Off The Night With Marvel Vampire Covers!
In the next few months, Marvel is going for a blood and bats theme, and the world of Vampires will invade the House Of Ideas!
Just like the title of the post says, Marvel Comics is ushering in some sweet looking Vampire covers for the month of October, and it's just in time for Halloween even! The one above you see is for Invincible Iron Man #31, and it pays tribute to the classic "Demon In The Bottle" storyline in which Stark stares at a VERY drunk and intoxicated version of himself. Now it's all about vampires... and this one shows Tony seeing nothing of his reflection in the mirror. Below is another vampire cover variant to Hulk #26, and it looks like the Red Hulk is getting all Dracula this time.
Remember, these are just variant covers though, so it's not canon and there are no continuity spoils just yet. Newsarama has the rest of the October variant gallery, which you can check out in their link here.
