EVO Japan 2024: Akuma, Lidia, and Marco Rodrigues Revealed for SF6, Tekken 8, and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

 

One of the biggest fighting game events held every year returned in full force to the Land of the Rising Sun, as the Evolution Championship Series or EVO Japan was held this weekend - and with it tournaments for popular fighting games such as Street Fighter, Tekken, and the King of Fighters. Results and replays of that can be easily searched online, but the event was also bundled with a couple of highly anticipated character reveals and announcements for some of the current titles and an upcoming one slated for release next year!

It’s April 24, 2024 - Today The Flash Vanishes In The Future

 

If you are a fan of The Flash and have followed the television series released under the “Arrowverse” on The CW, then you’d know that today’s date is significant as far as a certain timeline in a possible future of the show goes!

On April 25, 2024 The Flash goes missing and vanishes during a crisis - alluding to Barry Allen’s sacrifice during the events of “Crisis On Infinite Earths” as depicted during the famous comic book crossover event but of course happening differently in the Arrowverse. Since the CW Flash series ended nearly two years ago it never managed to reach this date - but the plotline was resolved and retconned eventually during the show’s run and Barry survives and gets his happy ending in the end with his lady love Iris West Allen and his friends.

Still we honor this date in popular culture history, and so did the official The Flash FB page and Barry Allen actor Grant Gustin on his official Instagram!

Deadpool and Wolverine: New Trailer Finally Shows Off Hugh Jackman Back as Wolverine!

 

Hitting theaters this July and finally giving us the team up X-Men Movies fans have been waiting for since it was teased in Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman come together for Marvel Studios first R-Rated film in “Deadpool and Wolverine” - which brings the Merc With A Mouth face to face with the Best There Is At What He Does… And their team up is going to be awesome! LFG!

The new poster also compliments the other two released! Bromance on all levels, and Logan is also going sleeveless with his new suit!

Transformers One: Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry Lead the Charge in Animated Origin Story Movie

 

One of the most well-known rivalries in cartoon and popular culture history will be getting its own movie featuring the voices of some of the biggest stars in Hollywood today, as Paramount Pictures and Hasbro present the very first trailer and poster to "Transformers One" - the long awaited animated film that depicts the origin story of Orion Pax and D-16 - brothers-in-arms in Cybertron who will eventually become leaders and bitter rivals on opposite sides as Optimus Prime of the Autobots and Megatron of the Decepticons.

Transformers One will be directed by Josh Cooley, and features the voices of Christt Hemsworth as Orion Pax/ Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16/ Megatron, Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1, Keegan-Michael Kay as Bumblebee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion. 

The film will be released in theaters on September 18 by Paramountt Pictures International!

Sonic The Hedgehog 3: Keanu Reeves is Voicing Shadow The Hedgehog

 

Looks like the way past cool Sonic Movie franchise is adding another big action star to its impressive cast of voice talents, as The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Keanu Reeves - star of The Matrix and John Wick films, has been cast to voice Shadow The Hedgehog in the upcoming “Sonic The Hedgehog 3”!

Following the success of the first two animated Sonic films and Idris Elba’s addition to the roster in Sonic The Hedgehog 2 as Knuckles The Echidna, having Keanu as Sonic’s new nemesis would be a solid boost - and it wouldn’t be Keanu’s first time voicing big animated roles either as he was Batman in DC Super Pets and also lent his voice to Toy Story 4 too as Duke Caboom. 

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 will be released in theaters this December courtesy of Paramount Pictures!

First Screenshots Released For Captain America: Brave New World, First Footage Shown at CinemaCon 2024

 

For the first time since starring in the role of Sam Wilson 10 years ago in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson is headlining his own Marvel Cinematic Universe movie as the new Captain America as he faces a new conspiracy unravelling in “Captain America: Brave New World” - which is set to be released in theaters by Marvel Studios on February next year.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we get our first look at the film with two new screenshots featuring Mackie as Sam Wilson/ Cap and Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross - a role he takes over from the late William Hurt and who has now become President of the United States in the MCU. While the first footage screened was exclusively shown to those in attendance at CinemaCon, media outlets like EW have described it and you can read about it here.

At long last, the world finally gets its first look at Todd Phillips long awaited sequel to 2019’s “Joker” - as the very first trailer for “ Joker: Folie à Deux” is here and shows off Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck meeting Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn in a love story that’s part musical, part insanity.

Joker: Folie à Deux will be released this October.

Marvel Studios Releases The Fantastic Four “4/4 Day” Poster and Casts Julia Garner as The Silver Surfer

 

It’s April 4, and for many fans of Marvel’s First Family that means a celebration of the Fantastic Four! To commemorate the occasion, Marvel Studios has released a new poster featuring Johnny Storm/ The Human Torch doing his signature “Flaming 4” sign while soaring through the skies! The character will be played by Joseph Quinn, while Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach join in as Reed Richards/ Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/ Invisible Woman, and Ben Grimm/ The Thing.

Speaking of casting, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Julia Garner has been cast as a female version of The Silver Surfer. A fan favorite and a herald of Galactus, the one comic readers know is male and the alter ego of Norrin Radd. However, Garner will play Shalla-Bal - who was Radd’s lover and will be the Surfer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Fantastic Four will be released in theaters on July 25, 2025 in the US.

Daredevil: Born Again: First Set Photos Show Jon Bernthal Suited Up Back as The Punisher

 

Frank is back… And he’s looking all bloody and focused on the mission at hand!

Via Variety, new set photos for the upcoming Marvel Studios Disney + series  “Daredevil: Born Again” have surfaced online, and it shows former The Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal back as Frank Castle, better known to Marvel Comics fans as The Punisher! Seen back in costume and teaming up with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/ Daredevil, the duo are currently filming scenes at New York City in preparation for the MCU show’s debut some time next year in 2025!
