Transformed R.E.D 6" Figures line packaging and more promotional pics revealed

Fans of The Transformers who ever wanted "cartoon accurate" styled versions of their favorite Robots In Disguise welcome the news when Hasbro revealed months ago that they would be introducing a 6" "Marvel Legends" styled action figure line featuring fan favorites - and the first wave of these non-transformable figures will feature staples from the OG Generation One series - namely Decepticon leader Megatron and his trusty subordinate Soundwave, and the Big Bot and head of the Autobots himself - Optimus Prime!

Thanks to In Demand Toys, we get our first official look at the packaging these figures will be contained in - and it lives up to the "R.E.D" series name in that the box is in a predominant red color scheme, with the Transformers logo present as always in the side as styled in modern Hasbro TF merchandise offerings. Optimus, Megatron, and Soundwave all come with interchangeable hands and accessories, so this goes well for collectors who only want the Cybertronians in their robot form. Again, these do not transform - and is Hasbro's latest venture into bringing one of their popular IPs into the 6" figure scale market that is present in their Marvel Legends series and in their new "G.I.Joe Classified" line of figures.

The Transformers R.E.D Series is scheduled to be released this August according to the In Demand Toys website.

“The Transformers” turns 35 years today

Today is a very special day for the world of popular culture and the 80’s, as Hasbro’s “The Transformers” first started airing it’s popular animated TV series today, September 17th, way back in 1984! The show, made to coincide with Hasbro’s toyline of the same name - was a story about sentient an alien robot race known as “Transformers” that are split into warring factions - the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. Living in the distant planet known as Cybertron, the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, were forced to flee from their home planet to seek other ways of defeating the Decepticons and their tyrannical leader Megatron. After a battle sends both groups crash lamding on prehistoric Earth, the robots lay in stasis until waking up in the present day - adapting to their surroundings by copying the forms of existing vehicles and machinery and becoming “Robots in Disguise”. As such, the war between both continues on Earth - with humanity involved and caught in the crossfires of the battle.

Since then, The Transformers has grown into a mega world franchise known to many people around the world. From the toys to the cartoons, the series has spawned multiple spin-offs, an animated movie following the events of the series, and even a series of live-action movies directed by Michael Bay. Truly they are more than meets the eye, and 35 years later they are legend. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY G1/ Generation 1!
