Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has officially turned 10 years today, and the game remains a critically acclaimed video game as well as one of the most important installments of
Konami's long-running
Metal Gear series created by
Hideo Kojima. The game is set in 1964, and introduces gamers to the origins of
Naked Snake, the man who will grow to become the legendary soldier known as "
Big Boss", and his "Baptism of Fire" through his very first mission to put a stop to a deadly nuclear weapon and assassinate a central figure important to him that will change his life forever.
Changing the rules and breaking boundaries, Snake Eater went on to have several re-releases and ports through the years, with the most recent being an HD re-release in the
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for the
PS3, Xbox 360, and
PS Vita. If you haven't dived into a Metal Gear game yet and want to experience first hand the events that lead up to the upcoming game that is
