Announced last August by Famitsu, Atlus and Arc System Works are releasing a joint fighting game project called "Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena", based on Atlus' successful PS2 RPG "Persona 4". Japanese Anime and Drama website Crunchyroll reports that location test footage from Tokyo has been uploaded online, showing more gameplay action of the upcoming 2012 brawler. As seen in You Tube, here is one of the said footage below:

Siliconera reports that Arc System Works is bringing their recently updated fighter, Blazblue: Continuum Shift II, to the PSP! The game was just released in arcades early this month, and because of the game's sheer and undeniable popularity, it's now making its way to Sony's little portable device just like its predecessor before it, BlazBlue Portable. No release date has been given, but the game will support four players in multiplayer mode (two fight, two watch), and new scenarios and an "Abyss" mode will be incorporated into the game as well. Stay tuned for more updates on the game when news becomes available. For more info, visit the source post at Siliconera, and thanks goes to fighting game pal it_burns for the update!
Most of you all know and remember the side-scrollin' shooting game Contra. Do you remember Contra: Hard Corps for the Sega Genesis though?
I was reminiscing about this game a few days ago with some friends. It was the one and only Contra installment to feature four different types of characters to choose from. Also, players could carry and select four different types of weapons they pick up as they progress through the game, and branching paths led to a number of different scenarios the player could explore, unlocking multiple endings in the process. Yeah, this game was good for it's time, and being more of a Genesis owner during the 16-bit Console War, it was a nice addition to the collection I had back then.

Now the latest word is that a sequel is coming up... A spiritual sequel to be exact!
As you can see from the pic above featured in a post by IGN, a new Contra game is coming! Announced by Konami, Hard Corps Uprising is the latest Run N' Gun shooter to be coming from the minds behind Contra, and is set to be released for the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network in fall this year! Colonel Bahamut, who was one of the main baddies of the original Hard Corps game, is now in the side of good and one of the main characters the player will control alongside a partner to combat alien forces in this game of machine guns and spreads! Only two characters have been confirmed for the game so far, but Konami may put up downloadable content that features more characters eventually! The artsyle of the game is anime inspired - primarily because Arc System Works, the guys who did the Guilty Gear and Blazblue series, are developing the game! That sounds like a lot of fun to my brain to contain, and I'm really looking forward to playing this baby already! For more info, check out IGN's post! Hard Corps Uprising is a downloadable game due for Xbox 360 and PS3 on Winter 2010!
Blazblue: Calamity Trigger was an awesome fighting. Created and touted by Arc System Works as the "spiritual successor" to the Guilty Gear series, this slick looking anime 2D Brawler has got all the right reasons for a fighter to pay attention. Owning the Playstation 3 version myself, this game is just full of potential and unpredictability, the latter point especially true when it comes to fighting other opponents who seek worthy challenges.
After enjoying some quality time with its ports on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and even getting an update soon with Blazblue: Continuum Shift, Arc System Works is going to bring their fighter to the portable market, when it gets released for the Playstation Portable under the aptly titled "Blazblue Portable". Based on the Famitsu screens from a post made by Kotaku, the game doesn't look too shabby at all despite the low resolution, and if you played GG XX Advent Core Plus for the PSP, Arc System Works will have no trouble delivering their newest prized fighter to the portable market. The game is scheduled for a late February 2010 release in Japan. You can read up more on the juicy bits by hitting the Kotaku link here. Looking to more fights on the move!
