God Of War: Ascension info and trailer goes online!
Anyone who owns a Playstation and knows the name Kratos certainly knows God Of War... And now news has leaked that will excite those itching for a return to bloodbath and action gaming galore!
When we last left the man also known as The Ghost of Sparta, Kratos destroyed everything and took out just about everything standing in his way in God Of War III for the Playstation 3. Following that, another prequel was released for the Playstation Portable, God Of War: Ghost of Sparta, which added another layer of tragedy and conflict to his story. Now, people are waiting for God Of War IV... But there has yet to be an official announcement for that sequel. However, a new trailer has popped up, as well as details for a new game: God Of War: Ascension. It is indeed the newest chapter of Kratos' journey... but it looks like another prequel.

Assassin's Creed III Box Art revealed
Via the official Assassin's Creed Facebook page, Ubisoft has revealed the official box art to their next chapter in the Assassin's Creed saga, Assassin's Creed III! 3 versions of the artwork, for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 (seen above), and PC have been uploaded in the FB page for fans to see, but no details have come up yet regarding who exactly the new protagonist will be. What can obviously be taken from the pic is that it's set during the American War of Independence, and Desmond Miles will live through the memories of another ancestor of his, as the adventures of Altair and Ezio Auditore have since wrapped up after the end of the last game, Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Stay tuned for more details as they come. For more info, visit the official Assassin's Creed Facebook page!

Street Fighter X Tekken: PS Vita version to feature 12 more characters
Street Fighter x Tekken comes out in a few weeks time for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and the Capcom devloped brawler is generating a lot of buzz from its respective fans to show that it's a highly anticipated title nobody can wait for! Still, while those looking forward to the console releases will get it early, their stomachs may churn over the latest news to come out related to the game... And it's looking good right now for those investing on Sony's newest handheld, the Playstation Vita.
Via a report from Andriasang.com, the Vita version of SFxT will be getting a big bonus to compensate for its delayed release to Fall 2012. Twelve new characters will be added to the roster, with six entries on each side, and fans who have been loyal to both franchises will be happy to know who's making the cut.
Street Fighter:
- Elena
- Guy
- Cody
- Sakura
- Dudley
- Blanka
Tekken:
- Lars
- Alisa
- Christie
- Jack
- Bryan
- Lei
This kinda puts a damper on those getting the game early for the big machines, but it's a good bet Capcom will eventually release the Vita exclusive fighters someday, as either DLC or an "upgraded" version of SFxT in the future. Time will tell for sure. For now, take comfort in seeing the new "Features trailer" for the upcoming console version of the game.

Playstation 3 updates to be PS Vita ready!
Those of you who own a Playstation 3 console and look forward to owning a Playstation Vita, better take heed of this news!
With the Japanese launch of the Vita just two weeks away, Sony has prepared gamers with PS3 units for the impending arrival of their newest portable system by releasing their latest system software update, Version 4.00, out in the interwebz. This allows the black monolith console to serve as a content management device for those who have a Vita, and much like its predecessor the Playstation Portable, all videos, music, save data, and files can be easily transferred back and forth by both devices.
Besides Vita compatibility, other features and settings have been given to PSN users and Playstation Plus subscribers. In my case, I just updated my firmware to 4.00, and am looking forward to connectivity between my PS3 and the Vita once I get my own personal unit! For more information, read up the details on Kotaku and the official Playstation Blog!

E3 2010: Sony Keynote Press Conference
Last night's E3 was madness, and continuing on where I left off, there was one more company left that many gamers have been anxiously waiting to see show their stuff.
Next up, Jack comes back and talks about the aged old PS2. Even with its successors making trails this day and age, the aged old console is still alive and kicking some ass. Afterwards, he introduces a man named Peter Dille, who goes on to talk about Sony's new peripheral, the Playstation Move. The device is a wand-like device with a light up ball attached to it, and it works very much in the same fashion as Nintendo's Wii. A Playstation Move trailer was then shown, featuring famous Sony ad character Kevin Butler doing his thing to promote the Move, followed by a list of games that will support the device. Everyone was probably itching for a demonstration at this point, and they finally got it with a gameplay demo of a new game that was built with the Move in mind - Sorcery. It features a kid who can use his magic wand to cast spells, fighting monsters in a very Harry Potter-like style and manner. Later on, the young magician takes out and drinks a potion, which turns him into a rat and gives him the ability to traverse through obstacles blocking his way. While looking mighty generic for a PS3 title, it was very interesting to see, and the game is dated for a spirng 2011 release.
Another game for the Move was then demonstrated, this time being Tiger Woods PGA 2011. You can play and swing like a pro golfer in this one, and makes full use of the Move's capabilities. Afterwards, a surprise trailer was shown for a new game - Heroes On The Move. From the title itself, its gameplay places emphasis on PS Move, and the game features characters Ratchet, Sly, and Jak teaming up together for the first time! Quite a surprise, and a title Sony fanboys will definitely lookout for in the future!
The Playstation Conference then moved to another important aspect of the whole Playstation dynamic in today's terms - online content. Jack Tretton then noted that a new season of The Tester was on the works, followed up by the announcement that there will be exclusive content coming up from partnering up with companies like HBO and Nickelodeon. Playstation Home users also got some love with Jack announcing that an E3 Virtual World was now for Home visitors to explore in the event they missed E3 itself. Gameplay footage was then shown for Little Big Planet 2, one of the most anticipated sequels of the PS3 generation. With a gameplay demo shown by Alex Evans, the game had more content to boast than its predecessor, more specifically the ability to create your very own mini games, such as bump car crash courses and button pressing games! LBP2 even sported some "create your own video" segements, so this is definitely a must watch out for title!
Towards the tail end of the show, Mr. Tretton then went on to discuss more about the Playstation Network and how Sony will expand the content for its users. To this end, he introduced Playstation Plus - a premium service PS owners can subscribe to for $50 a year in order to get exclusive content and more extras for Playstation. Afterwards, trailers and gameplay footage were shown for more upcoming PS3 games by EA, which included the new Medal Of Honor and the hot looking survival horror sequel game Dead Space 2! However, the biggest surprise was the arrival of Gabe Newell, the man behind Valve Games' Portal, and surprise surprise, he formally announced that Portal 2 was coming to the PS3!
That pretty much wrapped up the entire Sony Press Con, and that was that for the big game companies and their keynotes on E3! Which was better? Well, Nintendo really stole the show with their presentations and the 3DS, but Sony and Microsoft did good as well. Take it as you will depending on your preference, but overall, everything was ok and fine for this year's E3 show. Check Kotaku for more details if you need more gaming news on the presentations and updates!

Walk In The Heavy Rain...
Anyone still holding out or finding reasons to buy a PS3? Well, here's another damn good reason to get one if you haven't yet.

Since buying the game yesterday, I've been nothing short of impressed about Heavy Rain - the latest Playstation 3 exclusive to come from the minds of Quantic Dream and Sony Computer Entertainment. Today's graphical standards in gaming are pretty high when expectations come into the picture, but this game takes the cake when delivering a full blown 3D game that almost borders into realism. While there's no question about how great the visuals are, how does the gameplay fare on this one? Well it's pretty much an "interactive 3D movie" experience that's chalk full of quick time events and situations that demand fast fingers and timed button presses, more than your typical action adventure game. It's a pretty linear adventure, but you actually guide characters and their movements. You can play out their thoughts, make their gestures, control their habits, and do just about anything that a normal person would do when the situation calls for it. It's great implementation of the DualShock 3 controller's capabilities, not to mention the SixAxis Motion Control, which has been put to good use in this game, in more dynamic ways than one. In many ways, it reminds me a whole lot of SEGA's Shenmue series for the Dreamcast... minus Ryo Hazuki's kung fu fighting and almost whole world exploration.
Story wise, I've got to hand it to director/ writer David Cage, he's blended in gaming with a pretty good suspense/ thriller plot that could pass for Hollywood film material. Placing you in the shoes of four unrelated characters that are searching for clues and answers to the whereabouts of the Origami Killer, the mysterious antagonist of the game, the game's plot is divided into several chapters that slowly converge each of the main characters' tales, with every outcome and decision dependent on the actions you make. Yes, there are multiple paths to explore, and characters CAN DIE depending on your actions, though the story will progress no matter what happens to one or two of them. It's one game that truly puts the player in the director's seat, and choices made and what the end of the tale will be is entirely up to you. Take a look at the trailer below, and see how things play out if you aren't convinced by my words yet.
Heavy Rain Trailer
As brief as it may sound, that's about the gist of what Heavy Rain is. I'm not going to go into detail and say what happens, because that's part of the fun and drive in playing the game. As far as reservations go, some sound cuts and hanging issues because of disc loading can be a pain, but you'll be mesmerized by the visuals, and caught up in the story so much that you'll want to see everything to the end no matter what. As short as I found it when I wrapped up my playthrough of the game, everything was worth the dive and experience. Based on the critical acclaim and reception the game's had so far, I'm hopeful we'll be seeing another title of this presentation in the future.

Classic Kratos' Goodness Coming Back This Holiday Season.
Looks like I'll be dining in hell again with The Ghost Of Sparta this holiday season.XD
Videogame blog site Kotaku just recently posted an article bearing good news, with Sony announcing that the first two God Of War games from the PS2 are coming to the PS3, better than ever and with trophy support to boot. That's right, Kratos' old adventures return for those not fortunate enough to have played the legendary action games that defined his existence in the Playstation community, and this will be a great chance to play catch up before God Of War III hits the PS3 on March next year. You can read the full details about this graphic enhanced, Blu-Ray rerelease on Kotaku's link here.
Time to dispense some senseless videogame violence once again. Hell yes, I don't mind reliving the adventure... plus there's Trophy support now. Sweet.XD

GamesCom: Sony brings the PS3 Slim and more PSP Colors to gamers everywhere.
Announced at the GamesCom in Europe a few hours ago, Sony Playstation head Kaz Hirai formally announced the long awaited Playstation 3 Slim to the gaming world. It will be priced at $299 dollars, 299 Euros, and 29980 Yen, and available for the worldwide gaming consumer market on the first week of September. Additional details noted in Kotaku are that the new "PS3 Slim" will be blessed with a 120gb internal Hard Disk drive, and it will be 33% smaller and 36% lighter than its big, big brother.
Well, here is a look againat the original, and as you noticed from the Slim's look in the pic above, gone is the Spider-Man 3 inspired logo, with the new model sporting the simple "PS3" logo on the right side. More details were noted here, and one particular change is the exclusion of the "Install OS" feature, so there will be no more customization for people looking to install other operating systems in the new PS3.
My thoughts? It's about TIME Sony released this, as well as slashing down prices on the older models at the same time. Since my friends and I own the old PS3 units already, it looks like now is the time for those without one to pick it up. Unfortunately, the slim won't have the Backwards Compatibility the older PS3 units have, so PS2 games are a nada for this new and sleek release.
Also coming out of Sony's pocket are new colors for their well established PSP-3000 series. The new looks, Blossom Pink and Turquoise Green, are probably going to be marketed to those looking for some "happy PSP fun". Even with the PSPGo coming up, these new models are coming up this November, so anyone feeling a need for something Green... or Pink, you have options available to you.
