Beware The Batman returns to Cartoon Network on May 10

Following a long hiatus and being out of the picture for quite some time now, Cartoon Network is finally bringing back the currently new Batman animated series that aired last year in "Beware The Batman", to be aired starting May 10th on Toonami's Adult Swim block at 3am.

The news comes straight from Toonami's official Twitter account, as well as a report from Batman-News.com. This is good news for those who want to the series to continue and officially wrap up, as it is Batman's 75th Anniversary this year!

For those who want a taste and haven't seen the show, here's a sizzle reel.

Beware The Batman undergoing changes in wake of Colorado Tragedy

In light of the previous week's tragic incident in Aurora, Colorado, Warner Animation is making subsequent changes of the content for next year's new CGI Batman animated series "Beware The Batman". Variety and Newsarama report that Warner Animation VP series executive producer Sam Register reportedly ordered a review of the series to make alterations, including "changing the shape of gun barrels from round to square for the purpose of rendering the weapons in a more stylized manner reminiscent of sci-fi fare."

First announced last year, Beware The Batman is scheduled for a Spring 2013 release, and features a sword wielding Katana and a gun-totting Alfred Pennyworth as allies in the Caped Crusader's fight against injustice. The latter figure's demeanor alone will get the brunt of changes if this report proves true. For more info, visit the source posts at Variety and Newsarama.

"Beware the Batman" animated series debuts on 2013

Announced by Warner Bros. during the MIP Junior Market Convention in Cannes, France on Sunday and reported by sites Comic Book Movie and Superherohype, it appears that a new Batman animated series is in the works by Warner Bros. Animation, but will be done in CGI like that of the upcoming Green Lantern: The Animated Series.

Titled "Beware The Batman", Warner Bros. executive vice president for creative affairs Sam Register confirmed that the new series will debut sometime in 2013, and will feature "a classic looking Batman teaming up with a gun-totting Alfred Pennyworth and a female sidekick ninja named Katana (who may be THE SAME Katana from Batman's own team creation, The Outsiders).

Executive-produced by legendary and longtime Batman: The Animated Series collaborator Glen Murakami, Beware The Batman will explore the more obscure villains of the Bat-mythology, featuring the likes of Professor Pyg in his rogues gallery. However, that's not to say that classic villains like The Joker or Penguin won't be making any appearances either. Also, despite the fact that Batman will team up with a young female-sidekick named Katana, that doesn't mean she will be a replacement for Robin.

At this point, I don't know what to feel about a CGI Batman cartoon series, but it's too early to say, and no other noteworthy info about the series was given other than the announcement and year it will be released. Beware The Batman is slated for release sometime in 2013!
