Prepare to delve deeper into the horrors that continue to plague the Lambert family, as the next chapter of the Insidious franchise prepares to hit theaters! Emily Blunt protects her family in the brand new poster and featurette for "A Quiet Place Part II"

Director John Krasinski brings us back to the Abbott Family's tale of survival and moving forward in a post-apocalyptic world with beasts with strong hearing hunting anything that makes noise and silence is your best weapon, as the brand new theatrical poster of "A Quiet Place Part II" shows Emily Blunt back as Evelyn Abbott and protecting her kids following the sacrifice of her husband Lee (played by Krasinski himself). In the sequel, they leave their home and search for a new safe haven - only to find more survivors and something that is far more dangerous than the threats they have faced in the wild.

Also coinciding with the release of the new poster is a brand new featurette called "What You Need To Know".

After succeeding in scaring us with 2018's "A Quiet Place" - where creatures that react to sound and forcing humanity to adapt to it by not making any noise in a post-apocalyptic world, director John Krasinski returns to that world with "A Quiet Place: Part II - which brings back Krasinski's real life wife Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbott - as she and her surviving kids are forced to wander out into the open world outside of their farmhouse home - fighting for survival in silence and facing new terrors in the process.

It: Chapter Two: Meet the Grown Up Losers Club in these character posters

It's time for the gang to get back together again - as Bill Denbrough reunites with his childhood friends 27 years later to once again fight against their worst fear embodied in the form of a terrifying clown in "It: Chapter Two".

The once young and innocent members of "The Losers Club" have now grown up - each pursuing their separate lives while all but forgetting the battle they waged against the evil entity that claimed the lives of so many on the unsuspecting town of Derry. To mark the upcoming release of the sequel once again directed by Andy Muschietti, Warner Bros. Pictures (via Comic Book Movie) has released 7 character posters featuring the grown up versions of the protagonists as well as their kid versions reflected in a floating red balloon - Pennywise's signature accessory.

IT CHAPTER TWO - Final Trailer

Played by an all-star talented cast that includes James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Jay Ryan, Isaiah Mustafa, Bill Hader, James Ransone, and Andy Bean - the Losers are set to battle Pennywise (once again played by Bill Skarsgard) and get rid of him once and for all.

"It: Chapter Two" is set to be released on September 2019

After making a box office splash in theaters this month to become one of the most successful horror films of this year if not of all time, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have announced (as reported by Deadline) that the "It" sequel that's likely to be called "It: Chapter Two" has a release date set for September 6, 2019 - two years after the horror film released this year took the world by storm. Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name starring a supernatural force that usually takes the form of a clown and calls itself Pennywise, the live-action film follows the TV miniseries adaptation of 1990 that starred Tim Curry as the demonic clown - which is now played by actor Bill Skarsgard. The sequel will be set some 27 years later when the group of children known as "The Losers Club" reunite during their adult years to take on the returning demon that tormented their lives and put an end to it once and for all.

Evil Dead Remake: First poster hits online

Following the release of the first teaser trailer a couple of weeks ago, Sony Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Ghost House Pictures, and FilmDistrict have released the very first poster to "Evil Dead". A remake of the 1981 cult horror classic Sam Raimi film "The Evil Dead", the new adaptation is directed by Fede Alvarez, and will feature a female protagonist as the main hero instead of the original series' main hero, Ash Williams.

Since Friday the 13th hit the calendar this month, it's time for a little trip back to fright fest memory lane. Whenever this day lands, this iconic horror character always comes into my head, and since he's associated with one of horror fandom's most well-known B-Movie horror serials, I just had to revisit his escapades this day with one horror tribute I found in You Tube.

Back To The Future: Celebrating 25 Years Of 1.21 Gigawatts!

July 3, 1985 - History on film was made when legendary film directors Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg released a movie they collaborated on which was a daring and very ambitious project on foresight, tackling the idea of time-travel and lacing it with adventure through and through. Nobody could have realized the blockbuster potential at the time unless they saw it in theaters firsthand... and my oh my, how long it has been since we saw this:


Great Scott! Has it been 25 years already?!

Yes folks, 25 years ago, Back To The Future was released in theaters, and as many of you know, it was a seminal piece of work that inspired a lot of people to do their own pieces and references on the concept of time travel... with a little style and flair of course. This flick is one of those greats that had a major impact on my popculture life, and I do not jest when I make this claim. The cast and acting ability alone were absolutely top of the line, and the way Zemeckis, Spielberg, and their team of film makers incorporated Special Effects were leaps and bounds ahead of their time. Yes, you can pretty much say that BTTF was a masterpiece, but it's all thanks to the story and elements in it that turned it into such a huge success.

Next to his role in the TV Sitcom Family Ties, Back To The Future is almost instantly associated with iconic actor Michael J. Fox, who played the role of young lead protagonist Marty McFly. Fox was the first choice for the role of Marty, but he almost didn't get it when scheduling conflicts with Family Ties had him committed to the that show. Eric Stoltz was selected as a replacement, but he was deemed as miscast, and fortunately, Fox's scheduled open up and he was able to get back into the project. The rest was history from there, and we all associate ourselves with the rebellious teenager with a budding relationship with a wacky, but absolute sceintific genius named Doctor Emmett Brown, played by Christopher Lloyd. That character is the other side of the coin that made this movie such a big deal, and Chris Lloyd's ability to instill great acting and dialogue into the Doc Brown persona is what made him so memorable, and let's not forget the DeLorean DMC-12 he created - putting style in time traveling forever. Lines like "Great Scott" and "1.21 Gigawatts" only serve to make the Doc an iconic presence to be remembered by, and that's probably why his lines are always plastered on tribute shirts these days... so iconic.

So, enough with the history lesson and on with the memories and nostalgia. If you feel you need to acknowledge Back To The Future's 25 anniversary this year, go and watch this movie again. It's pretty awesome and still feels fresh even if it's a quarter of a century old already. No matter what opinions are raised of this classic by various people, one thing remains constant - it made history in cinema, and that's all there is to it.

The Green Hornet Trailer!

Via SlashFilm and You Tube, The first trailer of the much anticipated film adaptation of the classic 60's superhero series, The Green Hornet, is now online! Check it!


A project that was supposed to be directed by Kung Fu Hustle star Stephen Chow, the now Michel Gondy directed Green Hornet film stars Seth Rogen as the titular hero, along with Jay Chou as his sidekick and confidante, Kato (a role that Stephen Chow was also supposed to play before he left the project). Cameron Diaz plays Lenore "Casey" Case, while Christoph Waltz plays the villain, Benjamin Chudnofsky. For more info, check out the synopsis and details over at Slash Film.

Super 8, What Art Thou?

Is it just me, or did we never get a teaser trailer to J.J Abrams next original movie attached to Iron Man 2 when it premiered here?!

Via website i09, the next film by the guy who gave us Lost, Mission Impossible III, Star Trek, and the surprising monster hit Cloverfield will be called "Super 8", and it's name has something to do with the motion picture film format of the same name developed in the mid 1960's. It apparently has ties to 2008's Cloverfield, and will feature a group of kids using the camera as a recording tool, which they develop and discover something... strange. Since I haven't seen the trailer, this is still puzzling and mysterious for me. But knowing Abrams, he'll deliver something with a punch and full of bizarre storytelling that's definitely worth experiencing once it comes out. I'm real curious now.

UPDATE (May 6, 2010): Well, guess we can debunk the idea that it's a Cloverfield sequel or prequel. Enewsi reports that JJ Abrams has stated that Super 8 has nothing to do with his 2008 monster movie. You can read the rest of the post here.

Avengers Movie Update: Joss Whedon As Director?!

The buzz has been circulating for weeks now, but it appears that Buffy, Firefly, and Serenity creator Joss Whedon is in final talks to direct Marvel's upcoming live action film adaptation of the Avengers! As reported by comic sites like MarvelousNews and Newsarama, the writer/director has been in serious talks with the House Of Ideas since last week, and his presence as director of the film could prove to be a fanboy's wet dream come true.

Whedon is also no stranger when it comes to Marvel heroes, having penned the first 24 issues and Giant Sized issue of the highly successful Astonishing X-men series! Hopefully, things will finally be confirmed in the next few days, and we'll finally see a director for Earth's Mightiest Heroes! Stay tuned for more updates when they come!

Revisting Iron Man: Extremis!

In January 2005, Writer extraordinaire Warren Ellis and a then up and coming art talent named Adi Granov teamed together and reinvented one of Marvel's flagship superheroes for the 21st century.

That hero was none other than Tony Stark, aka the Invincible Iron Man.

In the wake of Avengers Disassembled, the armored avenger's own flagship title was relaunched to coincide with the new beginning and direction the House Of Ideas was aiming for its top titles at the time. Of course, this meant introducing Iron Man to a whole new audience by concurrently reestablishing the character's origin and redefining the hero for the modern age. Thus, the "Extremis" storyline was conceptualized - a six part tale that depicts Tony Stark fighting a foe empowered by a nanotechnology super soldier serum known as Extremis, forcing the tech wonder to dive into the process itself, thereby giving him new powers and an upgraded suit of armor. The story also retcons Tony's past, portraying him as an arms dealer, and updating his origin by establishing his beginnings as Iron Man in Afghanistan instead of Vietnam. "Extremis" was received pretty well by fans and readers alike, and I enjoyed the heck out of it, especially with Warren Ellis' superb writing and Adi Granov's fantastic 3D lifelike artstyle. In fact, elements of the story, as well as Granov's art designs, were incorporated into the Iron Man film franchise, most notably with the first film in 2008.

Now, More than five years after its launch, Extremis is coming back better than ever, and just in time for the new Iron Man 2 movie's debut this May! The six part tale will be rereleased as a Director's Cut series for fans to catch up this April! Not only that, a new edition of the tale will be released digitally, with a Motion Comic adaptation under the Marvel Knights Animation banner, done and produced by the House Of Ideas themselves! As noted in a post in their website, the Iron Man Extremis Motion Comic will debut in April 16, with six episodes slated to be released on a bi-weekly basis until June! It will be available for download at iTunes, Zune, and Xbox, each episode costing $1.99, or for a whole season package price of $9.99! More details at Marvel.com itself, so click and read up! Looking Out For "Plan 9"...

Remaking a movie isn't a simple process. Not all of them do justice to their predecessors, and even if a few manage to squeeze out and shine through with a decent modernized plot, fans loyal to the source material still bear some love and attachment to the original. What a remake can do is add a new layer of twists and possibilities that weren't available thanks to limitations of technology during the time the original was made. A fair number of remakes were successful, with notable examples being Ocean's Eleven and Dawn Of The Dead, which reignited the love and attention fans gave to those respective genres thanks to new innovations and gimmicks that were introduced. The upcoming flick, Clash Of The Titans, is another remake that serves as proof of the many franchises Hollywood has retooled and represented as new movies for the modern age, and while it isn't the first classic to be reintroduced to the 21st century, it certainly won't be the last. Fan craving and demand has placed many favorable cult classics in the candidate list, and one in particular that caught my eye is this:

I found out that one of Ed Wood's classic sci-fi horror movies, Plan 9 from Outer Space, is getting the remake treatment! Cited as one of "the worst films ever made" the film told the story of aliens from outer space trying to stop humanity from creating a powerful weapon capable of destroying the universe, resorting to a ploy that involves resurrecting the dead and getting their attention. Yeah, that's the plot, and you can check out part one of the movie yourself, courtesy of You Tube, right through this embedded video, as well as the accompanying links:

Plan 9 From Outer Space

Heh, I vaguely remember seeing the original, made in 1959 and starring classic actors like the late Bela Lugosi (who died even before the original was released!). It's your classic bill of space horror that's too fun to ignore, and being a zombie fan myself, I'm open to seeing the new version, to be made by Darkstone Entertainment, just for kicks. Word got to me about the remake from a post by James Rolfe of AVGN fame, and he even has a part in this movie! Wow, with the nerd on board, as well as aliens and zombies causing mayhem,I'm even more excited to see this now! Check out the teaser trailer and see for yourselves how the new one will look like:

A Gossip Girl Becomes Star Sapphire!

An article in Superherohype has revealed the newest Hollywood talent to be selected for the upcoming Green Lantern live action film, and joining the Martin Campbell directed film will be Gossip Girl star Blake Lively, who will play Hal Jordan's love interest, Carol Ferris!


Those aware of GL History will know that Carol is Hal's boss, running the aerospace company that her father owns and hiring Jordan (played by Ryan Reynolds) to become their test pilot. This occupation ultimately leads to Hal acquiring the ring from a dying Abin Sur and succeeding him as Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814. Eventually, Hal's dual life exposes Carol to several adventures and misadventures, and she eventually becomes the villain Star Sapphire, whom Hal has to confront and save countless times. Right now, Carol as Star Sapphire supports Hal and the rest of the Color brigade in confronting the Blackest Night. How that will turn out, and the love between the two for the matter, will be resolved in a few months time when that miniseries ends.

The Green Lantern movie starts shooting this March and is slated for a June 17, 2011 release.

The Future Begins On November!

It's the start of November, and while everyone's still reeling from the Trick or Treating, there's some time to give to pay our respects to the patron saints and our dearly departed. At the same time, it's a new month to look forward to, with so much coming up and only a few weeks more til Christmas arrives! Well, for those who happen to be in the market for some blockbuster movie goodness, Xmas just came early, and now two of 2009's blockbuster films are available in official record and video stores - namely Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and JJ Abrams epic relaunch film of the Trek franchise, Star Trek! Having dropped by the mall today, I went to check out these eye candy treats at the shelves. As expected, the usual one disc and two disc sets were available, but something else REALLY caught my eye that totally made the Trekkie fanboy in me jump like crazy! What is it? Take a look at this!

Hoozah! A Star Trek Limited Ed Enterprise DVD set! No regular versions were available, and instead this pretty little box set was there, and it happened to be the last piece too. There's a good reason why it's limited... namely because the DVD case is a 6" replica of the latest movie incarnation of the Starship Enterprise! As brilliant way to make things presentable, the guys who made this limited edition release designed the hull of the ship ro house the discs, thereby making the infamous vessel more than just a toy to display. It's got it's own stand too, and after assembling this baby, you'll feel pretty proud of yourself like an officer of Starfleet would. Truly, it's the perfect way to own the movie, especially if you're a Trekkie and enjoyed the wonderfully done movie by JJ Abrams. It's too early to review this baby, but I tested it out, and so far I'm liking the design and presentation Paramount Pictures and co. have done to give the fans the ultimate Trek experience. So far I've seen the gag reel and 'New Vision' special features, and their pretty awesome segments that will make you realize how exhilarating and intriguing the whole movie making process was for the entire cast and filmmaking crew involved. I'm glad I got this set, and it's a good way to usher in November. To use one of Captain James T. Kirk's infamous quotations - "It's time for Warp Speed, Mr. Sulu!". Engage!

Halloween Top 10 Horror Movie Franchises...

Well what do you know? It's almost Halloween folks! If you've got plans to trick or treat or party the night away with some fancy and scary costumes, this is the night to remember and look forward to. Over the years, there have been several ways to celebrate "All Hallow's Eve", and it's quite possibly the best time to scare yourselves over with some frightening forms of media and entertainment. When it comes down to it, I can't think of anything better than popping in a movie or video game that has horror written all over it, and there's a plethora of titles to choose from that have scared humanity for generations to come. I'll keep things simple and go down to my top 10 list of horror movie franchises that I love, each giving me some horrific memory to worry about. Without further delay, here are some treats to consider watching, with some poster links via Wiki.

Halloween Top 10 Horror Movie Franchises:

10.) Howling - I've been a fan of werewolves since I was a kid, even more so than Vampires. Back in the 80's, werewolf movies were becoming the trend, and seeing a person change into a howling beast of madness was the in thing, especially when John Landis unleashed "An American Werewolf In London" to the movie going public. That was instrumental in making Werewolves known to everyone, but so were a few other films like the Howling series. I guess the most memorable installment I can remember was "Howling: The Rebirth", which had closer ties to the novel and portrayed this horror mystery where a group of people gather in an ancient castle to combat and kill a Lycanthrope, who happens to be among their ranks. I never really followed the series afterwards, but the effects of changing from man/ woman to wolf still remain memorable to me until this day. It was pretty surreal... and intensely awesome.

9.) Halloween - I didn't really get into the whole Michael Myers thing. As a kid, I always thought the concept looked kinda bland, and the only thing giving me the chills was the theme music popping up whenever ol' Mike appeared to kill an unsuspecting fellow. The original was directed by the legendary John Carpenter, and the only thing I found amusingly "scary" was the mask of Mr. Myers, which happened to be created from a mold taken from William Shatner! As the years rolled on, my experience with the series came to a head with the release of Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers. B-Movie was written all over it, but it did the trick in making me dread the man who would also be known as "The Shape". The Halloween series also made Jamie Lee Curtis and the late great Donald Pleasance household names for their portrayals of Laurie Strode and Dr. Samuel Loomis, each an integral part of Michael's life. The remake by Rob Zombie was a good reimagination, but I have yet to watch the sequel. Anyone looking for a mad serial killer flick should definitely check this series out.

8.) A Nightmare On Elm Street - I'll be frank, Freddy Krueger knows how to make you NOT SLEEP at night. I never followed the Nightmare On Elm Street series religiously like other horror flicks, but I did watch the movies as a kid, and it was enough to scare the shit out of me sometimes. Freddy's iconic visage alone is enough to tell you the guy wants you to suffer agonizing dreams, and what he has delivered in the films thus far is a testament to his insanity and madness. He can be defeated by being brought into the real world, yes, but the dream world is his nightmarish kingdom to exploit, and he'll carve up some scars and dismember his victims with those trademark blades he has from his glove. When director Wes Craven made Nightmare and Freddy, he didn't know he unleashed a beast from the underworld. With that said, it made actor Robert Englund the kind of star that nightmares are made of.

7.) Friday The 13th - Somehow, I knew we were going to revisit Jason Vorhees in this list. He's the first B-movie character that scared the shit out of me, especially AFTER he resurrected from the dead. I always constituted the Friday series as a mix of teenagers, sex, and a deranged guy who wanted to kill, pure and simple. The backstory behind Jason's methods stem deeper than anyone could ever imagine, from drowning as a young boy in Camp Crystal Lake to harnessing his powers from Hell itself, managing to live again and again through demonic possession and such. That's how I remember this series, for the iconic giant serial killer who always wore a Hockey Mask and relentlessly paved a path of destruction until desperate means put a stop to him... temporarily at least. Actor Kane Hodder was the guy I remember well for playing that menacing role, and to this day, I still hear the "ch-ch-ch... cha-cha-cha" echo in my mind, signaling that Jason's presence is not far behind.

6.) Evil Dead - Sam Raimi made his name here before the Spider-Man films, and there's a pretty good reason why I love the Evil Dead films. Aside from it being horrifying and twisted, it's funny and awesome, and it's all thanks to the machinations of one man - Bruce Campbell, the actor who played the main protagonist, Ash. With his "charming looks and clean personality", Ash is the kind of hero who doesn't take shit and tries to laugh in the face of danger despite his stubborn and narrow-minded demeanor. This is a guy who calls his shotgun a boomstick and replaces his own severed hand with a chainsaw... so how can you not call that AWESOME? This series is simply a must watch for any horror freak, especially Army Of Darkness, where the real fun starts and ends. Oh, before anything else, always remember those damn words before you get your hands on the Necronomicon.XD

5.) George Romero's Dead Movies - George Romero introduced me to Zombies, and way before it became popular today, it was THE GENRE that had to make my list before I saw anything else. My first actual exposure was the 1990 remake of Night Of The Living Dead. Directed by his special effects guy and make up legend Tom Savini, this film brought gore and infection into my zombie vocabulary, and showed how utterly futile and stupid arguing amongst one another was when you got legions of the undead surrounding you and making your imminent death a slow but painful one. Soon, I started seeing the classics, and the original Dawn Of The Dead became my favorite among the original Dead Trilogy, especially because it was set in a shopping mall, a place that became a haven and a prison for the survivors trapped inside of it. Indeed, social commentary always worked with Romero's films, and served as a warning to anyone who underestimated certain situations and took for granted the world as we know it. The Zombie boom is here now thanks to games like RE and Left 4 Dead and movies like Zack Snyder's Dawn Of The Dead and 28 Days Later, but I'll still consider Romero the granddaddy who brought us the brain munching fun we all love. I'm really looking forward to his new movie, Survival Of The Dead.

4.) Saw - "Live Or Die... Make Your Choice". Those words echo and resonate throughout this entire Saw series. Dubbed as "Torture Porn" to the viewing public, there's a pretty good reason why it is called that way. The first movie showed just how effective mind games can be when a person is put to the ultimate test - will you lose a life or a limb in order to save your life or someone else's? Tobin Bell became a horror icon for his portrayal of the legendary mastermind Jigsaw, and even with other new characters now basking in the spotlight, I believe no Saw experience is complete without his involvement. Since 2004, the series has branched out into six films, each with its own unique victims to test and exploit, and while I find the story confusing sometimes, it's definitely the traps in each film that keep fans coming back for more. It's the signature stuff that makes the series interesting everytime, and in the case of those being tested, it's a torture experience that'll either change them or leave them resting... in pieces.

3.) The Ring/ Ringu - When you hear the name Sadako, you know that it's taboo to watch a mysterious video tape and leave the TV on. Back in the early 2000's, the Ring freaked me out, to the point that I literally had a hard time sleeping at night and watching a channel full of nothing but static. This was the first Japanese film that made me realize how gruesome curses can be, especially if you become complacent and confident that you broke the curse, only to realize you're still screwed in the end. The character of Sadako herself is a tragic one if you even bother to watch the rest of the series, and her misshapen and horrific visage was only born because of the evil and abuse she suffered years prior to the setting of the first film. A remake was made for Hollywood audiences, but it wasn't as good as the original Japanse version. Anyone with a faint heart should take care NOT to watch this movie, lest you have a desire to renounce watching TV forever.

2.) The Grudge/ Ju-On - Another Japanese Horror movie that gave the chills about curses, Ju-On succeeds in many more levels than its predecessor by incorporating more horrific feats and stories that were more deadlier than watching a videotape and seeing a woman with long hair crawl out of it. Ju-On shows that curses can be born out of a deep hatred or grudge, and it all started with the murder of a housewife and her son at the hands of her husband inside their own home. Soon, anyone who came to live inside that house was doomed to become a victim of death, as the curse infects anyone inside and spreads from person to person. This is depicted throughout the entire series, and essentially caused the end of humanity itself. Spider-Man and Evil Dead director Sam Raimi dipped his hand into this series, the result of which was a remake and two sequels that did pretty good to scare the people in Hollywood. Creepy stuff, I tell you, so be careful in watching this alone kiddies.

1.) The Exorcist - I won't lie. There's a good reason why I still consider The Exorcist the scare among all scares. It's the movie that brought demonic possession into mainstream media, and the haunting scenes of a girl possessed and doing twisted things are definitely not for the faint of heart.
