Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel will take place around the world according to Kevin Feige

As the world prepares for the arrival of the big Marvel Cinematic Universe convergence film that is "Avengers: Infinity War" this week, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed to io9 that the sequel will be happening across the globe - giving Tom Holland's Peter Parker and his alter ego quite the "field trip" that's reminiscent of his time travelling to Germany during the events of "Captain America: Civil War".

"We start filming early July,” Feige said. “We film in London. We shot first film in Atlanta. And we shoot a lot of films in London but there’s another reason we’re shooting in London which is, yes, Spidey, of course, will spend some time in New York, but he’ll spend some time in other parts of the globe.”

Looks like our favorite webslinging hero's going to have his hands full after dealing with Thanos alongside Mr. Stark and crew. For more details, visit io9!

Avengers: Infinity War will be released on April 25th internationally and April 27th in the US.

Shown off at this weekend's D23 Expo and looking visually striking as expected from the artist's reputation, Drew Struzan's poster for "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" has gone online via i09 and IGN, and all that's left is seeing a High-Res clear release of this beauty hit anytime soon. Much like the Special Editions of the original trilogy as well as the posters for the prequels, this is nothing short of EPIC and EXCITING to see, and with all the Star Wars news coming out of the woodwork from the first Star Wars: Rogue One cast pic and the new "Star Wars land" attraction planned for DisneyLand, The Force is truly strong with the fans of this saga from a Galaxy Far, Far Away!

Ant-Man: Two Credits Scenes confirmed for film

In a return to form after only having a mid-credits scene for the last movie that was Avengers: Age of Ultron, a report from iO9 has confirmed that Marvel Studios' Ant-Man will have TWO credits (Mid and Post) scenes attached to it. There's no word on what those scenes actually are and what they contain... But it's a fact that it's going to tease or connect what to come next year when "Phase Three" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe starts... Beginning with Captain America: Civil War on May 2016.

Ant-Man will hit theaters in the US on July 17.

DC The New 52: Selina Kyle's new look from Batman #28 set to debut on Catwoman #35

Change is coming to the world of Batman on the year of his 75th Anniversary, and if you've been following the events of the Caped Crusader's numerous titles and the new weekly series Batman: Eternal, then you'd have seen the seeds planted that will vastly affect his network and allies, including a certain female love interest and cat burglar who will take on a new role very soon.

Straight out of the previews for the October 2014 solicitations for DC Comics, the ongoing adventures of Selina Kyle in her very own "Catwoman" series for The New 52 universe takes a new direction, with the feline femme fatale becoming the new Kingpin of Gotham City as seen in the "Sneak Peek" one shot issue of Batman #28.

Beginning in Catwoman #35, the new creative team of Genevieve Valentine and Garry Brown will take over the title, showing how Selina slips into her new "Mob Boss" persona and dictates a new status quo that will affect her relationship with Batman, her allies, and the entire city of Gotham.

Alien: "Xenomorph" originally from China? A flea market art piece says so

People who have seen the Alien franchise knows what exactly the "Alien" is - an extraterrestrial and predatory species that adapts and survives based on implanting eggs into other species and birthing their own kind to propagate their own race. The most iconic representation of this terrifying space race is the "Xenomorph" -  a large bipedal/ quadrupedal black monstrosity with a huge cylinder like skulls that's complimented by their ferocious teeth and a large spikey tail. Created by Dan O' Bannon and Ronald Shusett, the Alien design is credited to one H.R.  Giger, a Swiss surrealist artist who's work was adapted for the original Alien film in 1979.

However, a new article surfacing in i09 shows something that may dispute that the origins of the "Xenomorph", showing a painting that's much older than Giger's work and originates from China. A blogger named Zhao found a painting in a flea market in China that allegedly belongs to influential Chinese artist Qi Baishi, and it has what looks a lot like Xenomorphs in it too. It's still remains to be seen whether this is genuine or not, but Giger's work is still credited as the original source. Take a look and compare both works by visiting the source post at i09.

The Dark Knight Rises: Arkham Rising Fan Film

A unique fan film has surfaced online that shows an angle that would have likely taken place during the events of Christopher Nolan's epic final Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. Total Recall Trailer #2 hits online

Yahoo! Movies and Columbia Pictures have released a second trailer to the 2012 remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1990 sci-fi film, Total Recall! Starring Colin Farrell as Douglas "Doug" Quaid, the film is scheduled for release this August, and is directed by Len Wiseman. First Look: Stephen Amell as Green Arrow for CW's "Arrow"

Tvline.com has released the very first "first look" image of actor Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow for the new upcoming superhero TV series by The CW called "Arrow".
Considering it's based on the DC Comics' emerald archer, it does have an odd title. Nevertheless, it's going to be a "darker and hard-edged show", as executive producer David Nutter points out.

Also released is the official synopsis for the new TV series, which goes like this:

"After being marooned for five years on a remote island, former billionaire playboy Oliver Queen returns with a mysterious agenda and a lethal set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime."

Concept Art: The Justice League of Japanese Anime...

Considering the immense popularity of western comics, it comes as no surprise that characters from the rich history of DC Comics would some form or way get considered for a Japanese styled anime/ tokusatsu treatment. Back in the 70's, Marvel's own webslinging hero Spider-Man got turned into a Tokusatsu TV series, and the House of Ideas even released some miniseries some years back using Manga styled drawings. DC almost gave the greenlight to that approach, but sadly it did not come to pass. Thankfully, io9 has put up some concept art of the proposals via Project Rooftop, as illustrated by one Cliff Chiang. You can take a look at them via i09, and check out how heroes like Batman, Superman, Aquaman, and The Flash are drawn very much similar to Gatchaman, Mazinger Z, Ultraman, and Racer X!

Rumor: Watchmen 2 is really happening? Andy Kubert confirmed as artist.

Those of you who've read Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' seminal work "Watchmen", guess what? Apparently, a sequel prequel comic book miniseries is actually in the works, and it's been confirmed that artist Andy Kubert (Batman, Flashpoint) would be attached to the project.

The news broke and supposedly got confirmed via Bleeding Cool, and aside from Kubert drawing, other artists and writers are supposedly attached as well, with big names like JMS and even co-creator Dave Gibbons himself possibly taking part in this rumored miniseries that predates the main Watchmen story. DC Comics has yet to confirm, but the story is trending around and being reported by other comic book news sites like Comic Book Resources and io9, adding a lot of speculation as to whether or not this pre-Watchmen series is really happening. It's still a rumor at this point, so time will tell for sure if this actually holds water.

"The Rat" - A short Batman fan film worth checking...

Now that we know who Tom Hardy is playing and which hollywood actress will be playing Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises, everyone around the world is talking and speculating over what director Christopher Nolan will reveal next as the new Batman movie sequel inches closer and closer to its shooting date. However, other fans have taken the initiative to imagine their own version of the plot that is obviously nonexistent, but curiously interesting nevertheless. Take this project by Dale Fabriger, a director who made a short fan film called "The Rat" that pits Bats with a new type of foe, with two cops reflecting on the incident at question. Spider-Man Reboot Update: First pic of Andrew Garfield in costume!

This has been posted almost everywhere, but what the heck, here it is... The first shot of Andrew Garfield dressed up as Spider-Man!

Of course, this is just the promotional shot featuring Garfield in costume. It's an obvious and total redesign; leaner, slimmer, and gives off the hint that he'll be sporting traditional webshooters instead of the organic ones used by Tobey Maguire in the Sam Raimi films. Captain America Update: First look at the Cosmic Cube in the movie!

io9 recently posted an article giving fans first look at the legendary artifact known as the "Cosmic Cube", wielded by actor Hugo Weaving's character Johann Schmidt... aka The Red Skull! Those who know Captain America lore know that those who hold the cube have access to near limitless power, from reshaping reality to something as rudimentary as restoring one's broken mind and psyche. Spider-Man Reboot Update: Emma Stone gives an update on her role as Gwen Stacy

Anyone familiar with the Spider-Man mythos knows Gwen Stacy. She was Peter Parker's first true love, and because of the relationship she shared with him, she was destined to be put in harm's way, eventually ending up dead during a battle between Spider-Man and his archnemesis, The Green Goblin (aka Norman Osborn). The character was taken out and supplanted by Mary Jane Watson in the first two Sam Raimi films (only for her to be introduced in the third film), but the new reboot to be helmed by Marc Webb puts the blondie back in the spotlight as the main love interest, with actress Emma Stone playing the coveted role opposite Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker. However, the big question in most fans minds was this: Would Gwen's tragic tale of death be told in the first film? SPOILERS AHEAD after the pic:

The answer is a simple NO. Via a post in io9 and during an interview in The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Stone says during a conversation that she may be sticking around in the long run for a few more Spidey films, suggesting that there are more tales to be told before a possible "death" story ever gets considered. That's probably a good thing, considering that Mary Jane has gotten more exposure as Spidey's love interest and one time wife. It's still a long way til 2012 for the reboot gives viewers a chance to check out Stone's performance as Gwen, but here's hoping we see something good and promising when the time comes. In the expansion pack "Battle For Endor", your character (choosing the path of the Dark Side) will have the opportunity to fight AND kill Han, Chewbacca, and Leia - 3/4 of the main cast! Officially Confirmed: The Walking Dead gets a Second Season!

Like many people who have started shuffling to their television sets, I've been thoroughly pleased with AMC's TV series adaptation of Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead". With two episodes already shown and quite the positive feedback the show has gotten, it's no surprise that fans have been inkling for a second season follow up after the initial one ends with episode 6 come December 6. Well, our prayers have been answered, and the dead will rise again with 13 new episodes scheduled for the renewed season!

Star Trek 2 Update: First teaser pic?

J.J Abram's 2009 Star Trek was a masterly woven reboot, and a sequel is definitely in the works for a 2012 release. Other than news on the cast returning and little script details being leaked, not much has been shown about the next film... until now that is.


Via Collider and a post on i09, the pic you see above is the Starship Enterprise herself with a "Summer 2012" caption below the Star Trek title, as tweeted by Montgomery Scott actor Simon Pegg via his Twitter! Rumor: George Lucas plans to create a new Star Wars movie trilogy?!

Looks like the force is strong with rumors in the Star Wars universe!

Even if George Lucas is done telling the rise, fall, and redemption of Anakin Skywalker in the original Star Wars movies, he's far from done with the franchise that sealed his legacy in the world of science fiction and movies. Even with the news out that he'll be converting the original six movies into 3D, there's already a rumor that once that's done, the legendary film director is planning on creating a NEW TRILOGY of movies - one that doesn't star or have anything to do with the Skywalker family! As reported in i09's post, the rumor comes from IESB.net, and it's a feeling of deja vu ala 1990, during the time when Lucas released Special Editions of the original Star Wars trilogy just before he made and released the prequel trilogy in 1999! Still, this is a rumor that has no confrimation yet whatsoever, and it'll be a long time before the 3D conversion for all the original movies is complete, which should be around 2015 or 2016.
