"Son Of Batman" DC Universe Animated Original Movie teaser trailer released

Created just in time to coincide with the 75th Anniversary of Batman this year, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have released the first teaser trailer for their next animated feature film under their "DC Universe Animated Original Movie" umbrella, and it's none other than the adaptation of Damian Wayne's origin and introduction to Batman's life in "Son of Batman".

Son of Batman 2014 - Trailer [720p]

Featuring new Batman voice actor Jason O'Mara (aka Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil live action movies) reprising his role following Justice League: War, "Son Of Batman" sees The Dark Knight meeting with his on/ off love interest/ enemy Talia Al Ghul (Morena Baccarin), who's seeking protection from the man who murdered her father Ra's Al Ghul (Giancarlo Esposito), Deathstroke The Terminator (Thomas Gibson). However she's not alone, as she properly introduces for the first time Batman/ Bruce Wayne's son, Damian (Stuart Allen). Can Batman keep his son in line, given that he's been raised by the League of Assassin's and trained to kill?

Adapted from the same storyline by Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert, Son Of Batman is expected to be released on Early 2014.

Liam Neeson confirms his appearance in The Dark Knight Rises

Consider this a MAJOR SPOILER as you read, but you probably know it was bound to happen anyway, and here be the proof...

It's been long speculated among Batman fans that legendary actor Liam Neeson will reprise his role as Henri Ducard/ Ra's Al Ghul. Now, via Comic Book Movie and Showbiz Spy, there may be credence to those whispers, as Neeson himself has confirmed that he was on the set of the third and final batflick directed by Christopher Nolan!

In an interview with Showbiz Spy, Liam was quoted to say the following:

"I can tell you nothing about Dark Knight Rises, seriously. I was on set for maybe an hour-and-a-half and the director didn’t tell me anything of what it’s about. So, I’m being very honest when I say I have no idea what’s going to happen.”

With that said, it's a very likely and obvious possibility that Liam Neeson will reprise his role as Ra's Al Ghul via flashbacks, mentoring a young Bane (Tom Hardy) perhaps or raising a young daughter Talia Al Ghul, who was recently confirmed to be played by young actress Joey King. The latter role however hasn't been confirmed to be linked to Maria Cotillard's role as Miranda Tate (who may be an alias for an older Talia), but the fact that Liam is back in some capacity is great news, even when fellow actor Josh Pence was cast as a younger version of his character Ra's.

Batman Begins - The Will To Act

In the end, things come full circle for Nolan's films. Liam Neeson returns to his role as Ra' Al Ghul from Batman Begins. He was the man who inspired Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) to become a "Legend", and gave him a path and the means to eventually assume his role as Batman. Whether it be flashback or an actual "Lazarus Pit" miracle, everyone is very much looking forward to this. For more on the story, visit the source post at CBM and Showbiz Spy!

The Dark Knight Rises shows the legend ending on July 20th!

The Dark Knight Rises Update: Josh Pence cast in the movie

News continues to trickle down for Christopher Nolan's next epic Bat-flick "The Dark Knight Rises", and now a report from The Hollywood Reporter, which was posted in Screen Rant and Slash Film as well, suggests that a relatively new face has joined the cast to play a very familiar role in a flashback that will tie the new film to that of the first, "Batman Begins".

According to the article, Josh Pence from "The Social Network" has been cast as a younger Ra's Al Ghul, the role that legendary actor Liam Neeson played in a surprisingly awesome capacity in the first film by disguising himself as Ducard and misleading Bruce Wayne into thinking Ken Watanabe was Ra's until the final parts of the movie. While the end of Batman Begins suggests that Ra's perished in the climactic battle for the fate of Gotham City, his character will be making a return via flashbacks set some 30 years earlier to what takes place in "The Dark Knight Rises". Many rumors suggest that Inception actress Marion Cotillard may play Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of Ra's, but that hasn't been confirmed yet, nor is the other rumor that Neeson may return to reprise his role as Bat's greatest mentor/ enemy. We'll just have to wait and see how this fans out in the coming months. The movie starts shooting in May, so we'll probably get more news by then. For more on the story, visit the source posts at THR, Slash Film, and Screen Rant.

The Dark Knight Rises appears in theaters July 20, 2012.
