Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios returned to the San Diego Comic-Con floor... And they DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL.
After three long years away from SDCC thanks to the ongoing global pandemic and many other challenges down the road, Marvel Studios made its triumphant comeback in a big way - announcing not just more TV shows and film release dates, but also laying out when Phase 4 ends, what Phase 5 will bring, and revealing that Phase 6 will usher in the return of two new Avengers films that will bring a grand culmination to the current saga of MCU movies collectively known as "The Multiverse Saga"!

Disney + gets new TV Shows like Agatha: Coven of Chaos and Daredevil: Born Again (with Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio back as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk), the newly announced Captain America: New World Order and Thunderbolts, and Phase 6 begins with Fantastic Four on November 2024 - followed by Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars in 2025!

Ahead of today’s Marvel Studios panel at Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con, artist Andy Park has officially shared the first look at one of the next Marvel films coming next year in “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” - which features Ant-Man, Wasp, Stature, and Kang The Conqueror!

The hierarchy of power of the DC Universe is about to change, as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson says as his catchphrase for his new role as "Black Adam" - which arrives in cinemas this October.

San Diego Comic-Con is indeed the mecca of all things in the world of hobbies and popculture, so it comes as no surprise we've been bombarded with a ton of news online from the folks at Marvel Studios - who held their Marvel Studios Animation panel today and talked about the upcoming animated shows hitting in the next two years - namely I Am Groot, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, What If...? Season 2, Marvel Zombies, and X-Men '97!
Thanks to Comic Book Movie, a live blogging recap of the entire panel was handled on site, with previews and information of these upcoming shows shares with those in attendance as well as the world.
The first trailer and poster for the 5 episode "I Am Groot" series has landed online, with the series hitting Disney + on August 10. Additional episodes are being produced as well.
Spider-Man: Freshman Year will debut on 2024. Still and first looks were shown. It will feature a ton of supporting characters like Nico Minuro of the Runaways, Harry Osborn, and Amadeus Cho, as well as villains like Rhino, Scorpion, and Doc Ock. The series takes place before Captain America: Civil War, and a "Spider-Man: Sophomore Year" is already in development.
Oh, and Charlie Cox will also be in the series and lending his voice to reprise his role as Daredevil. Doctor Strange will be appearing in the series as well.
Marvel's What If...? Season 2 will be released on early 2023. A third season is already in development, and yes the Marvel Zombies are also getting their own series as well.
And finally, X-Men '97 comes to Disney + on Fall 2023! Picking right where the original series leftt off, Magneto will lead the team on behalf of his friend Charles Xavier, and familiar allies will appear such as Bishop, Cable, Morph, and Forge, and enemies such as Mr. Sinister, The Hellfire Club, and more. During their panel at the returning San Diego Comic-Con being held this week, DC Comics has pulled the curtain and revealed the real name and title to their current crossover event in "Dark Crisis" - and it's "Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths".
Now being a direct sequel to the 1985 crossover storyline that changed the DC Universe and introduced the likes of the Monitor, Anti-Monitor, and the returning character turned antagonist Pariah, Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths will continue the stories and threads that have lingered on since Infinite Crisis, Final Crisis, The New 52, Convergence, DC Rebirth, Dark Nights Metal, and Dark Nights: Death Metal. With the Multiverse restored and the Omniverse ever present now in the DCU, the Infinite Frontier era has brought forth new possibilities - as well as the Death of the Justice League that jumpstarted the initial "Dark Crisis" storyline last May and is now leading to a new crisis where the world's greatest heroes are "dead", the villains are rising, and new champions will need to rise in order to combat the threats to the universe.
The newly renamed Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths will also have three new one-shots - The Deadly Green Dark Army, and War Zone. The Justice League will also return with issue #5 of the main Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths series on October. You can read all the details over at Newsarama.

Those looking to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what will occur for Marvel Studios' films going forward got a reveal of that in this year's San Diego Comic-Con when Kevin Feige and the studio took to Hall H and announced their plans for Phase 4 and beyond... And that was quite a LOT.
However, what was noticeable was that there were no announcements for a new "Avengers" movie, and it's to be expected as Avengers: Endgame signaled the end of a storyline focusing primarily on the Original Six - Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. Now it's up to a new generation of heroes to come forward and take the spotlight... And Kevin Feige told MTV News in an interview that a new line-up of Earth's Mightiest Heroes will eventually show up and will be a be a different class of their own.
Coming to Netflix later this 2019, Henry Cavill takes up the role of adventurer and monster hunter as the legendary Geralt of Rivia - as he leads an epic looking cast in the upcoming TV Series adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski's "The Witcher". The series, created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, will run a total of eight episodes and will feature Freya Allen, Anya Chalotra, Adam Levy, and tons of other talents that make up the world of the unnamed Continent.

The Witcher will premiere on Netflix in late 2019.
By now, many know and have seen what Marvel Studios has planned for the next couple of years with their official reveal of their "Phase 4" plans last weekend at the 50th annual San Diego Comic-Con. That includes the upcoming "What If?" series for Disney + - the very first animated series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and exploring "alternated realities" where decisions are made differently and characters explore differents paths and adventures that were not presented in the MCU films.
According to Kevin Feige, that's exactly the focus of the first season of the show - which will explore the first 23 films that make up Phases 1-3, aka The Infinity Saga.
"Right now, we’re focusing on for the first season, everything you know about the 23 movies in the Infinity Saga and adding one twist to them and seeing how everything turns out different."
One of the plans for "What If?" of course is turning Peggy Carter into the Super Soldier instead of scrawny Steve Rogers - as Feige mentioned again in an interview with Screen Rant. Also confirmed during the Hall H panel of Marvel Studios is that several actors and actresses who played these iconic roles in their respective films will be back - meaning Hayley Atwell and Chris Evans will reprise their roles as Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers!
By now it's all over the various news and media outlets in the interwebz - the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT of "Phase 4" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what Marvel Studios has planned and got in store for us in the next couple of years! In what is certainly an exciting time for DC on the CW as they prepare for the coming of their epic "Crisis On Infinite Earths" crossover along with the rest of the returning and brand new shows in the Arrowverse, it's bittersweet to see that its flagship program "Arrow" will be taking a bow with its eighth season this year. Indeed, as Oliver Queen (played by the talented Stephen Amell) made the heroic decision to save The Flash and Supergirl in the last DC on the CW event - it came with a price and The Monitor came back to collect at the end of Season 7 with The Green Arrow going off on a multiversal journey to help save the universe.
What happens and how that adventure plays out will be told in 10 episodes that make up this final season. Check out the Comic-Con Trailer from SDCC 2019 and see a montage of past events, as well as teases of what's to come and some new outfits for characters we all know and love (like Laurel Lance from Earth Two in her new Black Canary costume).

Arrow will return with its eighth and final season on The CW starting October 15th.
Teased months ago with bits of footage and an ominous trailer, the 50th annual San Diego Comic-Con finally gives us a better look at HBO's new vision of the Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons classic "Watchmen" - which will be a television series that doesn't quite follow the graphic novels or movie we all knew, but rather follows a group of characters and a revolution brewing after the outlawing of superheroes in an alternate world version of the United States.

Watchmen, directed by David Lindelof and starring Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, and more - will debut on HBO this October.
The Walking Dead has been many things since it premiered in 2010 and adapted the comic book series of the same name (which recently concluded) written by Robert Kirkman and drawn by Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard. Initially telling the story of a Sheriff's Deputy named Rick Grimes who searches for his family and eventually comes to lead a group of survivors amidst a zombie apocalypse, nine seasons have seen characters come and go as well as new locations and adversities explored beyond that of the undead.
At this year's San Diego Comic-Con, the cast and crew of AMC's The Walking Dead returned with some more news for their two shows "The Walking Dead" and spin-off "Fear The Walking Dead", as well as updates on the "Rick Grimes" focuses movies and a new untitled Spin-Off show. Last year's Season 9 also saw the departure of series lead Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes and will eventually return in a trilogy of films set for release in the near future - which was teased with a trailer.

While that was just a brief teaser, fans got an extra large one for Season 10 of The Walking Dead, which promises to continue The Whisperers arc as well as bring in more Negan played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. This will also mark the final season of Michonne actress Danai Gurira, who has officially confirmed that she is leaving the show (report byEntertainment Weekly)

And then there's the news of the untitled Walking Dead spin-off, which will be the third show to be among the AMC line-up and will be overseen and directed by Kong: Skull Island and upcoming Metal Gear movie director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. The Hollywood Reporter has the details, including the cast.

Literally "Highway to the Danger Zone" plays in the air as BIG NEWS comes via Comic Con International! Welcome back! It's been another extended hiatus for this blog... But it's back just in time for the 50th annual Comic-Con International, aka San Diego Comic-Con or SDCC 2019! We can expect a lot of previews, exclusives, and news hitting the interwebz in the next few days... And now we'll start with one of the first highlights - The Arrowverse or DC on the CW gets the spotlight on the now monthly Entertainment Weekly magazine!
As all the shows of the Arrowverse get renewed for their respective new seasons beginning this fall - one is ultimately walking into the sunset and that is the universe's flagship show "Arrow". As announced by star Stephen Amell and The CW, Oliver Queen's journey will be coming to an end after eight long seasons, and that will mix up with the rest of the shows with the upcoming "Crisis of Infinite Earths" event that will also begin at fall this year. The Entertainment Weekly issue will focus on the impact and influence Arrow has made to inspire the creation of its namesake TV Universe which birthed The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, adopted Supergirl, and brought along newcommer Batwoman.
