Catwoman: Lonely City Mini-Series coming from Cliff Chiang this October

 

What would happen if Selina Kyle got her own version of a "Dark Knight Returns" style story, but without Batman, Joker, or Commissioner Gordon around? That's the question artist and writer Cliff Chiang will answer with a new DC Black Label story coming this October in "Catwoman: Lonely City" - a four-part miniseries that sees an older Selina released from prison and facing a very different Gotham City.

Via Newsarsama, here's the synopsis.

"10 years ago, the massacre known as Fools’ Night claimed the lives of Batman, the Joker, Nightwing, and Commissioner Gordon… and sent Selina Kyle, the Catwoman, to prison," reads DC's description of Catwoman: Lonely City. "A decade later, Gotham has grown up - it’s put away costumed heroism and villainy as childish things. The new Gotham is cleaner, safer…and a lot less free, under the watchful eye of Mayor Harvey Dent and his Batcops. 

"It’s into this new city that Selina Kyle returns, a changed woman…with her mind on that one last big score: the secrets hidden inside the Batcave! She doesn’t need the money—she just needs to know…who is 'Orpheus?'"

Catwoman: Lonely City goes on sale with its first issue on October 19.

Batman Catwoman gets spotlight on Entertainment Weekly

 

In a few weeks it's time to continue Tom King's story on Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle's romance and adventures, as "Batman Catwoman" by King and artist Clay Mann begins its run and becomes the latest DC Black Label miniseries to be released with 12 issues under its wing. Entertainment Weekly has spotlighted the upcoming new series, and has released some exclusive new images in the article - which features interviews with King and Mann as well as the writer declaring that the "Bat Cat" duo are officially married as far as he's concerned, as well as detailing what the run will be about - concentrating on the past, present, and future as Bruce and Selina go on a journey that spans their early years, their marriage, and that future where an older Selina goes on a case after her husband's death. Also, new costumes and the DC Universe debut of Phantasm, aka Andrea Beaumont from Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

Catwoman gets a redesign from Clay Mann for Batman/Catwoman series

 

Literally we can say "PURRFEECCCT", and this reveal comes just two months before the new series debuts.

Via his official Twitter, comic book artist Clay Mann has revealed the brand new look and costume Catwoman will get in the upcoming "Batman/ Catwoman" miniseries that will be drawn by him and written by Tom King. Designed by Mann himself, Selina Kyle's new suit looks to take inspiration from fan-favorite looks of the Feline Fatale - including her iconic modern look with the goggles and the grey colored catsuit from "Batman The Animated Series". There are also influences coming from her lover Batman himself - with Mann designing a single blade on each of her gloves and a utility belt for her gadgets ala The Dark Knight himself. We'll find out more when the DC Black Label series begins this fall.

One of the most anticipated DC storylines that has been in the works for the past couple of years finally sees its first of three issues released this week in comic book shops and digital download, as DC Comics unleashes Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok's "Batman: Three Jokers" - a storyline that addresses the mystery build during "Justice League: The Darkseid War" and the beginning of "DC Rebirth" - where Batman discovers the existence of not one... But THREE VERSIONS OF THE JOKER. How and why this is the case is still a mystery, but the entire three issue run under the DC Black Label imprint will focus on the deadly trio of clowns, along with the members of the Bat Family that have been severely traumatized and affected by them - Batman, Batgirl, and Red Hood.

Tom King and Jorge Fornes' take on Watchmen's most eccentric hero in "Rorschach"

The mysterious title teased as the latest project for former "Batman" writer Tom King and artist Jorge Fornes has been revealed - a "Rorschach" 12 issue miniseries is coming from DC Black Label, and it adds yet another layer into the expanding "Watchmen" comic universe that was recently explored again in the events of "Doomsday Clock" and then through HBO's "Watchmen" sequel TV Series.

As reported by Newsarama - the new series is set 35 years after the events of the original "Watchmen" series by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, the story follows a world that distrusts superheroes, yet idolize the deceased Rosrschach - with many idolizing him yet his actions are far from that being the definition of a hero.

"So what does it mean when Rorschach reappears as part of a pair of assassins trying to kill the first candidate to oppose President Robert Redford in decades? Follow one determined detective as he walks backward in time, uncovering the identities and motives of the would-be killers, taking him deep into a dark conspiracy of alien invasions, disgraced do-gooders, mystical visions, and yes, comic books."


The first issue of "Rorschach" is set to be released by DC on October 13.

Batman:Three Jokers will be a three issue miniseries that finally begins this June 2020

One of the biggest mysteries in the DC Universe will finally be answered this Summer, as DC Comics, writer Geoff Johns, and artist Jason Fabok finally shed light and reveal some details for "Batman: Three Jokers" - the upcoming DC miniseries that will be launched under the "DC Black Label" imprint. Teased since the start of "DC Rebirth" and set to answer the numerous versions and variations of the Clown Prince of Crime in DC history, the storyline will run through three 48 paged issues, and will involve Batman, Batgirl, and Red Hood as they try and decipher what is going on with one of the greatest comic book villains of all time.
