Legends of Tomorrow's 100th episode brings back members of the original team

 


The 100th episode of The CW's highly successful Arrowverse spin-off series "Legends of Tomorrow" will be a star-studded ensemble filled with familiar faces, as Entertainment Weekly presents the first look at the cast who'll be gathering and featuring the return of some very familiar faces - including Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Victor Garber as Martin Stein and Franz Drameh as Jax who both combine to form Firestorm, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/ The Atom, Courtney Ford as Nora Darhk, and Falk Hentschel as Hawkman.



The 100th Episode will be directed by Sara Lance/ White Canary herself Caity Lotz, and will air on the 27th this month!

Marvel's Eternals: Entertainment Weekly releases 10 character poster covers

 


Set to be released this November and bringing an ensemble cast together to chronicle a set of immortal beings who will be making their presence known for the first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios and Entertainment Weekly have showcased the 10 character poster covers for "Eternals" - the next film after "Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings" in "Phase 4" of the MCU, and it features the cast including Richard Madden's Ikaris, Gemma Chan's Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

Hawkeye premieres on Disney + on November 24, First Look photo released by EW

 


After production wrapped up months ago and fans anxiously waited for news on when the show would be released, Marvel Studios and Entertainment Weekly have officially revealed when "Hawkeye" will be streaming on Disney + - and it starts this November 24! The "Phase 4" series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will see Jeremy Renner once again don the bow and quiver as Clint Barton/ Hawkeye - as he takes on a new apprentice and partner in Kate Bishop who is training to be Hawkeye herself and is played by Hailee Steinfeld!

Batman Catwoman gets spotlight on Entertainment Weekly

 

In a few weeks it's time to continue Tom King's story on Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle's romance and adventures, as "Batman Catwoman" by King and artist Clay Mann begins its run and becomes the latest DC Black Label miniseries to be released with 12 issues under its wing. Entertainment Weekly has spotlighted the upcoming new series, and has released some exclusive new images in the article - which features interviews with King and Mann as well as the writer declaring that the "Bat Cat" duo are officially married as far as he's concerned, as well as detailing what the run will be about - concentrating on the past, present, and future as Bruce and Selina go on a journey that spans their early years, their marriage, and that future where an older Selina goes on a case after her husband's death. Also, new costumes and the DC Universe debut of Phantasm, aka Andrea Beaumont from Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

Entertainment Weekly spotlights "Wonder Woman 1984" in the cover to the March 2020 issue!


Now that "Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" is out in theaters, Warner Bros. and DC Films are preparing to shift their focus promoting their next superhero film they have this year - the return of Gal Gadot as Diana of Themyscira/ Wonder Woman in the follow up sequel - "Wonder Woman 1984"!



Via Entertainment Weekly, Gal takes the spotlight in the cover to the March 2020 issue promoting the new installment of the DC Extended Universe - where she is clad in her new "Wing Armor" that the Amazon Princess will use in her battle against evil in the highly anticipated sequel film. ICYMI: Here's your first look at the Anti-Monitor from "Crisis on Infinite Earths"


Revealing the look of the big bad villain whose name fans of the DC Universe will know very well, The CW has released via Entertainment Weekly the very first image of LaMonica Garrett as the Anti-Monitor - who is the main antagonist of "Crisis of Infinite Earths" and is focused solely on eradicating all existence in the multiverse. Played by the same actor who also plays The Monitor in the Arrowverse, the character has already made his move and presence felt in the show, eradicating some worlds in "The Flash" and "Arrow" as they premiere and work their way to the big crossover event based on the 1985 storyline of the same name.

Crisis on Infinite Earths begins this fall on The CW.

First look at Nicholas Hault as young J.R.R. Tolkien in "Tolkien"


Before Peter Jackson helped make "Middle-Earth" a blockbuster epic and household name with his film adaptations of J.R.R Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit", there was the man behind the books - and his story will be told this year with Dome Karukoski directing and David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford behind the screenplay, and actor Nicholas Hault as the young Tolkien.

Entertainment Weekly has released the first few images of "Tolkien", which is due out on May 10 by Fox Searchlight Pictures.

New Ghostbusters sequel being developed by Jason Reitman; First teaser released


In what certainly surprised a LOT of fans of the original Ghostbusters film, director Jason Reitman has been reportedly working on a "secret" Ghostbusters sequel - following in the footsteps of his father director Ivan Reitman and essentially inheriting the "keys to the kingdom" of the Ghostbusters franchise.

Now, it appears there is an actual teaser trailer to that upcoming film - which is set in the same universe as the 1984 classic and its 1989 sequel that starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and the late Harold Ramis - has a teaser trailer to its name... And it shows a very familiar vehicle that many Ghostbusters fans will recognize.

Batwoman gets a pilot order by The CW


After her successful debut in the "Elseworlds" crossover that happens annually for the Arrowverse, The CW has ordered a pilot for "Batwoman". As reported by EW, the latest addition to the "DC on the CW" series of DC Universe focused TV Shows will have David Nutter of "Game of Thrones" fame serving as director. Ruby Rose will once again reprise her role as Kate Kane/ Batwoman - the cousin of Bruce Wayne who follows in Batman's footsteps and becomes a crimefighter herself defending Gotham City against the criminal and corrupt.

No release date has been given on the release of Batwoman yet.

The Walking Dead: Jon Bernthal to return as Shane Walsh in Season 9

Looks like The Walking Dead fans have something big to look forward to if a report from a Entertainment Weekly is to be believed, as series veteran and the long deceased Shane Walsh actor Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his iconic role sometime in Season 9 - reuniting with his best friend Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) and the other remaining survivors who knew him that are still around in the show.


While Shane died in Season 2, that didn’t stop Bernthal from reprising the role as a hallucination that Rick sees (and shoots) during Season 3. With Andrew Lincoln looking to exit the show after Season 9, this will be the perfect reunion and swan song between the two pals who started as the first characters to be seen together when the hit AMC zombie show started back in 2010. Aquaman: EW releases covers and first look photos looking at the upcoming DC Films movie


With excitement and anticipation building for the first trailer as well as the release of the film later this year, Entertainment Weekly has released the official look at the covers to their latest issue, as well as exclusive first look photos for "Aquaman" - based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name and once again played by Jason Momoa, who reprises his role from "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Justice League". Joining him for the solo flick will be Amber Heard who returns as Mera, as well as Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta.

Aquaman will be released in theaters this December by Warner Bros. and will be the sixth DC Films entry in the DC Extended Universe.

Avengers: Infinity War: Entertainment Weekly releases 15 variant covers


With less than 50 days to go before the film graces theaters everywhere in the world, Marvel Studios and Entertainment Weekly have released a whopping 15 variant covers highlighting the main players of "Avengers: Infinity War" - including the big villain himself in Thanos (above) as well as the other heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and the Guardians of the Galaxy!

Avengers: Infinity War will be released on April 25 internationally and April 27 in the US.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix: Entertainment Weekly releases "First Look" issue cover and details


Literally turning up the heat with what comes next for the X-Men Movies franchise, Entertainment Weekly has revealed their cover to their next issue revealing stuff and juicy details for "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" - the next installment of the X-Men prequel universe where veterans James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence return as Professor X, Magneto, and Mystique, while new blood like Alexandra Shipp, Evan Peters, and Sophie Turner return as Storm, Quicksilver, and Jean Grey respectively.

Directed by Simon Kinberg and based partially on the famous storyline by Chris Claremont, Dark Phoenix picks up in 1992 and sees the X-Men as national heroes. However an adventure to outer space for a rescue mission has severe consequences when a solar flare passes and affects Jean - causing her to unleash catastrophic powers as The Phoenix. X-Men: Dark Phoenix has an opening date of November 2018.

EW premieres new "Fall Movie Preview" covers spotlighting "Star Wars: The Last Jedi"


Revealed by Entertainment Weekly along with a batch of new preview photos posted in their latest Fall Movie Preview showcase, two new covers spotlighting Daisy Ridley as Rey and Mark Hamill as the elderly Luke Skywalker promote the arrival of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" this Christmas time - the second part of the "New Trilogy" introduced by Walt Disney Pictures when they acquired LucasFilm a few years ago and embarked on a new journey to bring George Lucas' space adventure saga back into the big screen.


While there's a lot of preview pictures out already showing how the returning characters will look in the upcoming new film, these covers show Rey being more skilled and determined with a lightsaber, while Jedi Master Luke looks very broody as his gaze tells a certain story. We'll find out more soon enough when more footage and trailers come just before the movie arrives in time for the holidays.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released in theaters this December.

Black Panther graces the cover of EW's "Comic-Con Preview" issue


With San Diego Comic-Con just around the corner and set to begin on next week, Entertainment Weekly has gone ahead and released the cover to their "Comic-Con 2017 Preview" issue which highlights none other than Marvel Studios' first 2018 film Black Panther - which sees Chadwick Boseman back as T'Challa/ Black Panther along with new co-stars like Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurai, and Andy Serkis. The film will be directed by "Creed" director Ryan Coogler, and is set for release on February 16 next year.

SDCC 2017 will happen on July 20 and run until July 23!

Thor: Ragnarok: Entertainment Weekly cover reveals Hela, Valkyrie, and short haired Thor


Revealed out of the blue on their official Facebook page, Entertainment Weekly has revealed the cover to their upcoming March 17-24 issue of this year, which spotlights Marvel Studios' next Thor sequel in "Thor: Ragnarok" and features Chris Hemsworth back as the God of Thunder but sporting a brand new haircut that's shorter and fits his new "Gladiator" style outfit that sees the Odinson holding two blades in place of his missing hammer Mjolnir. Also joining him are Cate Blanchett and Tessa Thompson, who play Hela and Valkyrie respectively.

No trailer has been released yet online for Thor: Ragnarok by Marvel and Disney, but that could change anytime soon and could be before or during Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 this May. The film will be released on November 3, 2017 in the US.

Justice League: EW releases new photo feat. The Flash, Batman, and Wonder Woman


With 11 months to go before it hits theaters worldwide and introduces the world's greatest heroes of the DC Universe together in the big screen, Entertainment Weekly has released a brand new photo for Zack Snyder's "Justice League", which features Ezra Miller's Flash, Ben Affleck's Batman, and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman standing tall and looking ready to face whatever it is that they are staring at. The film will be the fifth entry in Warner Bros.' growing DC Extended Universe that will see DC Comics' premiere superhero team come together for the first time in their own movie. One can only imagine what lies ahead for these heroes.

Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.

DC on the CW: Entertainment Weekly features Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl on latest issue cover


With the holiday season proper nearing and once again making it "crossover time" for some of pop culture's favorite superhero shows, Entertainment Weekly has featured the "DC on the CW" crew on the cover to their latest issue - namely Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin, and Melissa Benoist as they suit up as Green Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl respectively to promote the upcoming EPIC crossover storyline "Invasion" that happens with their shows plus Legends of Tomorrow!

The"Arrowverse" event is scheduled to begin on Supergirl's November 28th episode, and will unfold with the rest of the shows in The Flash, Arrow, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Suicide Squad: EW photos, mugshots, and new international trailer released


Hitting theaters in less than a month's time and already getting plenty of coverage thanks to Entertainment Weekly's newest issue spotlighting the upcoming new DC Films entry, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have released a brand new batch of photos from David Ayer's "Suicide Squad" - which features the villains of the DC Universe highlighting their very own "superhero movie"!

Suicide Squad: New "Entertainment Weekly" covers highlight Task Force X


Looks like the "Worst Heroes Ever" are getting the spotlight less than a month before their movie opens worldwide, as Entertainment Weekly unveils 4 interconnecting covers to Warner Bros. and DC Films' next entry in their growing DC Extended Universe with "Suicide Squad" - which will feature an all-star ensemble cast playing the villains who are rounded up together by the government to do some good in exchange for lighter sentences.


The four covers, previewed and teased via EW, feature the entire cast that includes the likes of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, and more all posing and looking epic and awesome in costume. Each cover features members of the Squad together and paired, so if you have your favorites and/ or want to complete the set, be sure to reserve or go to your nearest magazine store soon. There's sure to be more about the Squad previewed here, as well as this end of the month when the San Diego Comic Con happens!


Suicide Squad opens in theaters on the first week of August.
