When the DC Universe rebooted and changed things with
"The New 52" era in 2011, so did the multiverse and the adventures of the alternate reality versions of the characters we've come to know and love in
DC Comics.
"Earth-2" was one of the second wave of titles to usher in the following year, with writer
James Robinson steering the ship and exploring new origin stories and tales of the parallel world. The first arc saw the trinity,
Superman, Batman, and
Wonder Woman, give up their lives to fight the invading forces of
Apokolips, while dealing with other heroes who have more or less emerged in the wake of the crisis.
Now, writer
Tom Taylor steps in on issue #17 following the departure of Robinson the previous issue, and this time the stakes get even higher with the introduction of new twists, turns, and darker times for Earth 2. Via
USA Today, a preview was released showing just how serious things have gotten, with the emergence of a new Batman, the return of Superman - thought dead and now on the side of evil, and the new identity taken by a certain female reporter which will certainly shock all.
