Batman v Superman: EPIC WonderCon program cover by Jason Fabok released; Happy Birthday Zack Snyder!

As the current artist of DC Comics' Justice League, Jason Fabok's artwork is certainly an eyecatcher... And he lends those talents to producing a grand cover piece for WonderCon's program that spotlights none other than the film that will highlight the end of this month - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!

As seen via Fabok's official Twitter page, the colored and pencilled versions of the cover are online - showing Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman all in this special collage that shows the DC Trinity posing and then of course Bats and Supes brawling.

Additionally via Comic Book.com, today is the birthday of the director himself - Zack Snyder! From Dawn of the Dead (remake) to 300 to Watchmen to Man of Steel and now the upcoming Batman v Superman, this man is on a role and ready to ignite the DC Films Universe by storm! DC Comics The New 52: First Look at New Earth 2 Batman

As March ends and April is about to begin, DC Comics and the folks of WonderCon have revealed an Easter treat of sorts for fans of Batman and Earth 2, as readers and viewers get their very first look at the New Earth 2 Batman who'll be making his grand debut at May's "Earth 2 Annual #1"!

Green Lantern Update: Wonder-Con Footage online and a new poster revealed!

Warner Bros. has been a little quiet in regards to promoting their newest DC superhero flick coming out this year, Green Lantern, but all that changed when the weekend brought about this year's Wondercon in Las Vegas, which gave the makers and its primary cast a chance to talk about the film and screen some new sneak peek footage that fans in attendance really got excited about! Before we get into details about that report, a new poster also made its debut to coincide with the promotions!

Now this poster looks more intriguing than the initial ones presented before! It's a wonder how Ryan Reynolds could make the film work after initial reactions to the first trailer were mixed, but there's renewed promise that the film may just do well after everything that went down at the Wondercon. Basically, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were in attendance at the GL Panel and answered a lot of questions concerning the film and its content. For one thing, it's confirmed that a new trailer will be shown in screenings of Thor, so those looking forward to more GL action before the film arrives in June should be excited for this news. Secondly, both stars went on to describe how they prepared for their roles in the movie, as well as inquiries concerning the story and what the future holds for Mr. Reynolds in regards to other superhero flicks *wink wink*. So Long, All Star Batman and Robin! Hello Dark Knight: Boy Wonder!

Well, that took a while, didn't it?

Announced at this year's Wondercon and blogged at The Source, DC has announced that ALL STAR BATMAN AND ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER, the hotshot miniseries by superstar duo Frank Miller and Jim Lee, has finally ceased publication. This comes after a 10 issue run that was ripe with delays and scheduling problems, and after being stuck in limbo, the series has finally folded... or has it? Nope, not by a long shot!

Beginning in February 2011, the series that fits into Miller's continuity of THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, BATMAN: YEAR ONE, and THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN will finish its tale with the relaunch of a new six issue series called "DARK KNIGHT: BOY WONDER". Miller and Lee have commented that they only have six issues to go to wrap up the Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson story, so this finishes the somewhat controversial origin tale that began in 2005, with the "Goddamn Batman" seemingly kidnapping Grayson and training him to be his sidekick following the murder of the latter's parents during a circus performance.

Jim Lee's art, which was the highlight of the book following the success of 2002's BATMAN: HUSH, was arguably the selling point of the book, and one of my favorite interpretations of Batman for the longest time. This announcement was long overdue, but thankfully, I can see the story finish, and on time hopefully, come 2011. For more info and details, check out The Source.
