"Brainiac" first look image and featurette released for Krypton

Premiering next month and showing off the first look of one of the most iconic Superman villains ever, USA Today has released the first image of actor Blake Ritson as Brainiac - who will be appearing the Superman prequel series "Krypton". A featurette was also released, detailing what fans and viewers can expect from the villain in the upcoming new DC TV series.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi: New Luke Skywalker image and Rian Johnson interview video

Set to be released at the end of the year and continuing the "New Trilogy" storyline where Rey finally gets trained by the long lost Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, USA Today (via Comic Book Movie) has released a new image for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" showing Mark Hamill back in his signature role as an aged Luke - looking like he's worried and feeling a great disturbance in The Force as his former mentors Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda did.

Also via USA Today's Twitter, here's a new video interview with director Rian Johnson on where The Last Jedi takes Rey, Finn, Poe, and the rest of the characters through the film, as well as featuring the late great Carrie Fisher, aka Princess/ General Leia Organa.

SPOILER ALERT: The answer to the big "Batman #32" question has been revealed

This week marks the end of Tom King and Mikel Janin's epic Batman storyline called "The War of Jokes and Riddles" - which depicts one of The Dark Knight's greatest challenges in his early crimefighting days where he had to save Gotham City from a bloodthirsty feud between The Joker and The Riddler. That story in itself is one of the best testaments to what makes DC Comics' "Rebirth" initiative one of the best things to bring in new and old readers into the fold... But there is one thing lingering at the end of this storyline that Batfans have been waiting for - the answer to Batman's marriage proposal to Catwoman during "Every Epilogue is a Prelude" in Batman #24.

Justice League: USA Today releases new photo of the League

With 2017 rolling on and bringing more updates and news, USA Today has debuted a brand new picture of DC Films' much anticipated superhero team movie "Justice League", which will gather together the World's Greatest Heroes of the DC Universe for the first time in the big screen! Captain America: 13 Foot 75th Anniversary Bronze Statue coming to SDCC '16

In honor of the Star Spangled Avenger's 75th Anniversary as well as the timely birthday celebration of Steve Rogers this Fourth of July, Marvel is going to unveil a 13 Foot Bronze Statue of Captain America at this year's San Diego Comic Con - which happens in just a few weeks time! The news broke via USA Today - paired along with an image of a sketch of the upcoming statue that has the inscription "I'm just a kid from Brooklyn". That line of course comes from 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, where a defiant Steve Rogers tells the Red Skull that he's just an ordinary guy who was chosen by Dr. Erskine because that's what he is in addition to being a good man. Suicide Squad: "Cereal" IMAX poster, banner poster, and new character posters released

"We Need Them Bad" alright, and Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are sparing no expense in promoting the next installment in the growing DC Extended Universe with David Ayer's "Suicide Squad" - which brings together the villains and anti-heroes of the DC Universe and headlining their own film where they have to do the government's dirty work in exchange for lighter sentences.

Via USA Today a new "Cereal" IMAX poster (top) was released, along with a banner poster on the official Facebook page that sees the entire cast together in one shot - with Deadshot, Rick Flag, Killer Croc, Captain Boomerang, Enchantress, Harley Quinn, El Diablo, Katana, Slipknot, and Amanda Waller all in the picture... And The Joker's face in the background along with the title of the movie.

Also, 11 new character posters have been officially released by Warner Bros. (via Comic Book Movie). Check them out and see all the craziness in each of the cast.

The Lego Batman movie: Poster and first images released

It's comic book movie fever season as a certain Man of Steel and Dark Knight prepare to fight in this week's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", Warner Bros. (via USA Today and Superherohype) have released the first official poster and images for "The Lego Batman Movie", which is a spinoff of 2014's "The Lego Movie" with Will Arnett reprising his role as Batman!

Spider-Woman getting a new costume on March 2015's Spider-Woman #5

Apparently hot in the heels of Barbara Gordon's new look as Batgirl in DC Comics, Marvel is giving one of its longest reigning heroines a makeover come next year, as Jessica Drew will sport a brand new costume come March's Spider-Woman #5 - looking quite hipster herself like the "Batgirl of Burnside".

As reported on USA Today and Newsarama, the makeover will be designed by artist Kris Anka, and will be Jessica's newest look that shed's her original duds that she's worn since her debut in Marvel Spotlight #32 in 1977.

The new outfit will first debut in the mobile game "Spider-Man Unlimited", before making its way to the Spider-Woman title this coming March.

Batman: U.S. Postal Service celebrates Batman 75 with exclusive stamps of The Dark Knight

In celebration of Batman's 75th Anniversary this year, the US Postal Service is releasing five exclusive stamp designs of The Caped Crusader as he appeared through the years in DC Comics to commemorate the occasion!

The stamps, featured in USA Today and Superherohype, will be released at this year's New York Comic Con, and will soon find its way to US retailers soon afterward, making it a prized collector's item for anyone who's a Batfan.

Ant-Man: First photo of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang released

After the announcement of film production commencing and the addition of several cast members which includes Howard Stark actor John Slattery from Iron Man 2, USA Today and Superherohype have the first official photo of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, aka the main star and man to wear the Ant-Man suit in the now Peyton Reed directed Ant-Man!

Looking at the first official still, it seems Rudd's Scott Lang will indeed be involved in a heist set up, which will be the main thrust of the movie which drives the man to become Ant-Man. With the help of Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, Lang's going to be getting those powers indeed, which includes the ability to change his size and communicate with ants apparently. SDCC '14: Zack Snyder reveals new image of Ben Affleck as Batman for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"

Just like the title of the post says, director Zack Snyder took to Twitter and unveiled the latest picture of Hollywood actor and director Ben Affleck as the new man to don the cape and cowl and play Batman, in the upcoming superhero film crossover that sees him come face to face with Henry Cavill's Superman in 2016 in the DC Cinematic Universe movie - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
In Snyder's tweet, the "Man of Steel" director simply placed the hashtag "#75" with the image, as a direct nod to Batman's 75th Anniversary this year. The cape and cowl of Affleck's Batsuit also appears in this year's Comic-Con (as featured in this post) as one of the many highlights in the DC Comics booth, and is also spotlighted in this feature in USA Today's official website on The Dark Knight's 75 years, as well as an interview with DC Entertainment co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio, who give their insights on Affleck's cowl and the legacy of the Caped Crusader in film and beyond.

DC Comics: Batman Vs Bane after Forever Evil... And Wally West returns in April!

It's BIG NEWS in the world of comics, and in the universe of DC Comics, some things are coming to a head and returning in a very BIG way that's sure to excite fans of Batman and The Flash altogether.

First off, is the return of the long lost successor to Barry Allen's mantle of The Flash, his own nephew Wally West... Who returns this April (FINALLY) in a new storyline beginning in The Flash Annual #3. However, it's not yet known HOW or WHY he returns... And his absence for three years since The New 52 began had fans craving for his comeback. Now they get their wish, courtesy of writers Robert Venditti and Van Jansen and artist Brett Booth... With a new Blue Costume for the second speedster in Modern DC Universe to carry the title "The Flash". Batman: DC Comics releases preview for "Detective Comics #27" anniversary issue

Set to come out this week and commemorating the 75th Anniversary of The Caped Crusader himself, DC Comics has released via USA Today and comiXology a six-page preview for the big mega-sized New 52 edition of "Detective Comics #27", which features an all-star cast of writers and artists all dedicated to honoring the 75th year of The Batman!

Fantastic Four: New 2014 comic series officially announced; Film reboot comes on June 19, 2015

Looks like Marvel's First Family of Superheroes is coming back in a big way in two fronts - one in its native Marvel comic book universe, while the other finally acknowledges the long awaited release date of the rebooted film adaptation franchise by 20th Century Fox!

Via Newsarama and USA Today, Marvel has confirmed and officially announced a BRAND NEW Fantastic Four comic book series for February 2014, to be written by James Robinson and illustrated by Leonard Kirk (With the cover up top designed by Alex Ross). Launching under the "All New Marvel Now" brand, the relaunched series will bring the team comprised of Reed Richards/ Mr. Fantastic, Susan Richards/ Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/ The Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/ The Thing back to their roots in the Marvel Universe, as they're back in Manhattan, interacting more with the Marvel Universe, and facing more woes and problems as a superhero team than ever before. Robinson notes that the first arc will focus on the "Rise and Fall of the Fantastic Four, as well as the Rise and Fall of Johnny Storm". The Human Torch has bought the farm once before. Whether he will do so again or what befalls the team remains to be seen. One thing is certain... Dr. Doom will face the team anew and early on in the arc.

On the new Fantastic Four reboot film to be directed by "Chronicle" director Josh Trank, it will now see a release date on June 19, 2015. The Marvel movie bumps off the film adaptation of Ubisoft's video game Assassin's Creed, which stars Michael Fassbender, from that date to August 7, 2015. DC Comics: Earth 2 #17 starts a new tale... And previews some major *SPOILER* changes

When the DC Universe rebooted and changed things with "The New 52" era in 2011, so did the multiverse and the adventures of the alternate reality versions of the characters we've come to know and love in DC Comics. "Earth-2" was one of the second wave of titles to usher in the following year, with writer James Robinson steering the ship and exploring new origin stories and tales of the parallel world. The first arc saw the trinity, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, give up their lives to fight the invading forces of Apokolips, while dealing with other heroes who have more or less emerged in the wake of the crisis.

Now, writer Tom Taylor steps in on issue #17 following the departure of Robinson the previous issue, and this time the stakes get even higher with the introduction of new twists, turns, and darker times for Earth 2. Via USA Today, a preview was released showing just how serious things have gotten, with the emergence of a new Batman, the return of Superman - thought dead and now on the side of evil, and the new identity taken by a certain female reporter which will certainly shock all.

Batman: New 52 "Detective Comics #27", Batman 75th Anniversary, & Batman: Eternal details revealed

Next year is going to be another big year for The Batman, and it's not just because of a new title or two either.

Come 2014, it would have been 75 years since the character created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger first appeared in the pages of Detective Comics #27 in May 1939, and to celebrate things spectacularly, DC Comics is collaborating with a superb team of artists and writers to bring out a 104-page megahit anniversary issue with Detective Comics Vol. 2 #27. Lead by current Batman writer Scott Snyder, the occasion and team-up of superb creative forces will have the likes of Brad Meltzer, Paul Dini, Neal Adams, and Dustin Nguyen, as well as seminal Batman writer Frank Miller, who'll be drawing a two-page spread for the issue.

Following the anniversary issue, The Flash comic series collaborators Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato will take over and begin a run on Detective Comics themselves.

Also coming on Spring 2014 is Batman: Eternal - A new weekly-year long comic book series also helmed by Snyder, and with the support of James Tynion IV, John Layman, Ray Fawkes, Tim Seeley, and Jason Fabok.

Showing off a new scene that features Sir Ben Kingsley as the mysterious Mandarin, the new Marvel hero sequel featuring Robert Downey Jr.'s latest return as billionaire industrialist playboy Tony Stark/ Iron Man is the first film to commence "Phase Two" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and originally premiered in theaters last May 3, 2013.

Christian Bale and Woody Harrelson come face to face in "Out of the Furnace"

It's Batman and Defendor, in a new thriller that'll see lots of big names in Hollywood converging.

Via USA Today and Bleeding Cool, here's one of the post-Batman films that Christian Bale, star of Christopher Nolan's epic Dark Knight Trilogy, will be appearing.

Called "Out of the Furnace", it's an American thriller that's directed by Scott Cooper and also stars an ensemble cast which includes, in addition to Cheers' actor Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana, and Willem Dafoe  (So in addition to Bats and Defendor, you have Star Trek's Uhura and the Green Goblin as well).
